Reapers Among Fairies is a Bleach/Fairy Tail crossover by ModernRogue11.

At the end of the 1000 Year Blood War, Yhwach won when he successfully absorbed the Soul King and immediately destroyed all of creation, killing everyone. Kisuke Urahara and Isshin Kurosaki sacrificed themselves to open a portal to another world and shove Ichigo, Orihime, Karin, and Yuzu through it to save them. Urahara also passed Ichigo all his notes on the Soul Reaper and Quincy arts. The family arrived in Earthland, where Ichigo and Orihime eventually married and had a son, Kazui. Karin became a Soul Reaper while Yuzu became a Quincy. The family lived in seclusion, perfecting their skills and occasionally hunting for rare Hollows and helping the souls of the deceased pass on. One day, after rescuing Team Natsu from a Hollow, the family decides to come out of seclusion and join Fairy Tail, just in time for the Grand Magic Games.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • Accidental Murder: Fairy Tail battles Princess Hisui's soldiers while being careful not to kill them. When a soldier slashes Yuzu's arm off, she loses her temper and shoots him in the chest, killing him. She is horrified by what she did, especially since Quincies erase the souls of those they kill from existence.
  • A-Cup Angst: Lucy gives Kazui a hug and ends up giving him Marshmallow Hell. Wendy gets jealous because she can't do the same with her flat chest.
  • Adaptational Badass: Karin and Yuzu are a Soul Reaper and Quincy respectively. The whole family has had roughly 15 years to train and Ichigo can now perform Kido spells.
  • Adaptational Karma: King Toma and Princess Hisui are both sentenced to 10 years of house arrest under constant watch of the Rune Knights, for their roles as Unwitting Pawns of Future Rogue. While a pretty light sentence that doesn't strip them of their governing roles considering how many people died and could have died over the Eclipse Project, it's still an actual punishment compared to the two just walking away free without anyone taking issue with it in canon.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: When describing God Serena to Ichigo, Makarov reveals that there are rumors of God Serena being a product of a secret experiment conducted by the Bureau of Magical Development under the supervision of Brain called "Project Hybrid Theory" where the eight Dragon King Lacrimas were implanted into God Serena's body, turning him into the most powerful Dragon Slayer of this generation.
  • Adaptational Villainy:
    • God Serena is revealed to be already a member of the Spriggan 12 instead of defecting to Alvarez from canon and acts as a spy within the Magic Council.
    • In the anime, Sol and Aria were at least willing to provide Magic Power to Lucy Heartfilia's Fairy Sphere that trapped Acnologia in the finale. Here, they are members of revived Phantom Lord and undergone Hollowification.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Karin brags to Sting and Rogue that she isn't impressed by the supernatural threats in Earthland such as Dragons when their previous universe possessed far more dangerous and powerful entities they've fought and defeated.
  • Always Someone Better:
    • Wendy and Sherria note that Orihime's healing abilities surpass their own. Ultear gets slightly envious because her Time Master abilities require Cast from Lifespan to use them at their full potential, but Orihime can do the same thing at no cost.
    • The Kurosaki Clan in general are the most powerful group of characters in the story. They've easily trumped every wizard, Wizard Saint, and even Dragons that have gone up against them without needing to exert much of their greater powers.
  • An Arm and a Leg:
    • Karin slices off Kama's hands when he tries to slash Yukino in the back.
    • A soldier gets a lucky shot and slices off Yuzu's arm. Fortunately, she grows it back.
    • Kazui punches Dyst in the left arm so hard it disintegrates.
  • And Your Little Dog, Too!: While fighting Natsu, Future Rogue boasts that he will kill Lisanna to make sure their future daughter, Madeline, can never exist, sending Natsu into an Unstoppable Rage.
  • Asshole Victim: Future Rogue. He begs for someone to save him but no one comes. He is then impaled and dragged to Hell.
  • Awful Truth: It is eventually revealed that like in "Howl From The Jaws of Hell", any Soul Reaper with Captain level Reiatsu is destined for Hell. Lucy, Erza, and others are horrified that this means Ichigo will go to Hell if he dies.
  • Badass Boast:
    • Karin and Yuzu say this to Princess Hisui.
Karin: Now we know your identity. Now we know who was the one behind our niece's unlawful arrest. Mark my words, this won't go unpunished.
Yuzu: We're coming for you. You can send all the armies you can muster against us but it won't do anything. You can send your best men and they won't stop us. Nothing you will do can ever prevent us from seeking retribution for what you did to our family.
Karin: We know who you are. We know what you're doing. We will be looking for you. We will find you and when we do... Everything you ever built will fall.
    • Hisui sends the Hungry Wolf Knights and their leader Kama says this. Unfortunately for him, he cannot back it up because Karin and Yuzu kick their asses.
Kama: Many did not fear the Hungry Wolf Knights and yet none of them still live. Your bones will join them soon enough.
    • Kazui to Future Rogue.
Future Rogue: Even with your power, it is still not enough to fight seven dragons.
Kazui: You think I'm afraid of a bunch of over-bloated geckos? There are things far more terrifying than dragons.
Future Rogue: And what would that be?
    Kazui: A Hollow.
  • Bad Future: The Eclipse Gate opened and let 10000 dragons through, and then opened a portal to Hell and let the Togabito out. Among the only survivors are Madeline, Levy, Orihime, Kazui, Karin, and Yuzu. Orihime, Karin, and Yuzu do their best to defend the others, while Kazui is in a Heroic BSoD after Wendy died. They eventually manage to send Madeline back in time to try to prevent this.
  • Backup from Otherworld: Retsu Unohana briefly returns to deal the final blow to Future Rogue and then take him back with her to Hell.
  • Bare-Handed Blade Block:
    • Kurohebi catches Ichigo's sword with his hands and gloats. Ichigo nonchalantly fires a Getsuga Tensho that knocks him out.
    • Karin catches Doronach's axe, only for him to catch her off guard by triggering an explosion with his Impact magic.
  • Batman Grabs a Gun: Kagura Mikazuchi swore an oath that she would only draw her sword, Archenemy, to kill the one responsible for her brother Simon's death. When fighting Ichigo, he is too powerful for her conventional methods, so she decides she has no choice but to draw her sword. However, while this helps her last longer, she ultimately loses.
  • Berserk Button: Ichigo ignores any insults to himself, but if anyone insults or threatens his family, he goes ballistic.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: All of the Kurosakis are nice but people you don't want to cross. Karin constantly warns people not to piss off Yuzu, because when she gets angry, she wrecks everything.
  • Beyond Redemption: Ichigo declares that the revived Phantom Lord cannot be saved and must die when he learns that they captured child Nel and tortured her.
  • Big Damn Kiss: After Madeline's death, Natsu goes to Lisanna to comfort her. This leads to a moment where she confesses her love for the Dragon-Slayer but was too scared to do so. After Natsu returns said feelings, they share one kiss in the very house they made when they were kids. It is so tearfully happy.
  • Blood Knight: When Carbuncle guild master Tyson calls for Doronach, the latter was disinterested in getting involved until he learns that the enemy their guild will be fighting is Fairy Tail where the Kurosakis are members of, exciting the man to eagerly face the gods of death in battle.
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman:
    • Orihime starts teaching Lucy martial arts so she will not be defenseless if she cannot access her Celestial Spirits.
    • Orihime also taught Erza, which comes in handy when she fights Coordinator, who can nullify her powers.
  • Bring It: Carbuncle Guild Master Tyson does this as he wanted to see how powerful Ichigo is when he meets him at the capital city of Veronica.
  • Bullying a Dragon:
    • Minerva tries to do this to Ichigo by holding Milianna hostage. The response? Ichigo simply guts her like a fish and would ended her in front of everyone, if it wasn't for Erza.
    • Future Rogue tries this with Ichigo as well but gets sent to Hell instead. Hey, he killed a child after all.
    • God Serena tries this to Ichigo who beats him up for it, humiliating him in front of the Ten Wizard Saints as a result.
  • Broken Pedestal: Downplayed as while Lucy still loves her mother, she is shaken after learning from King Toma that Layla was involved with the Eclipse Gate which she kept that secret to her grave.
  • Canon Foreigner: In Chapter 27, the author created OCs to fill out the roster of the Ten Wizard Saints, since four members were never shown in canon, namely the replacements for Jose Porla and Siegrain (Jellal Fernandez) and two other unnamed members.
    • Twofold for Cassandra Brosnan, one of the four OC Wizard Saints, as she fills in for the unnamed Guild Master of Mermaid Heel.
  • Cassandra Truth: Out of the Ten Wizard Saints, God Serena refuses to believe the Kurosaki family really are what they say they are. It gets him beaten up by Ichigo.
  • Commonality Connection:
    • Mirajane, Lisanna, Orihime, and Yuzu all become friends because they have similar motherly personalities.
    • Ichigo tells Jellal he understands what it means to be an Unwitting Pawn.
    • After Yukino is kicked out of Sabertooth, Lisanna tells her about how she was trapped in Edolas for years and that she can understand losing her home. The Kurosakis adopt her because they have also lost their original home.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Thanks to the Kurosakis, six of the seven dragons that Future Rogue summoned, excluding Atlas Flame who defected, are killed. Future Rogue himself is killed at the end of the battle. In the original source, they were all sent back to their original times.
    • Ichigo kills everyone in the revived Phantom Lord, including Jose and Rustyrose.
  • Declaration of Protection: Kazui declares he will protect Wendy. She in turn says she will protect him as well.
  • Die or Fly: Yukino awakens Quincy powers when she and Lucy are in danger.
  • Disappointed by the Motive: Ichigo is underwhelmed when Sol says that Phantom Lord wants revenge on Fairy Tail for overshadowing them in popularity.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir":
    • Ichigo doesn't like being called Mister, but everyone does it anyway.
    • When it is revealed that the Kurosaki and Shiba families were nobles, everyone starts calling Yukino "Lady" or a princess since she was adopted by them, which embarrasses her.
  • Does Not Like Magic: Eclair dislikes magic, believing they are the source of atrocities throughout history. Karin calls her out on this while being suspicious of her.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Avatar, the wannabe Zeref cult that tried to replace the Balam Alliance in canon, suffers this at the hands of Solaseed who encountered them prior to her retirement from Zentopia and later Centurion who was hunting Dark Guilds.
  • Energy Absorption: Valeria Hammer's special ability is to drain people's energy into herself. She even manages to do this to Yuzu and get supercharged on her spiritual energy. Unfortunately for her, as a Quincy, Yuzu specializes in absorbing energy, so she simply takes her power back and defeats her.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Karin, Lucy, and Eclair go to a hotel, but an assassin attacks the latter two while Karin is in the shower. Karin comes out and forces him to retreat without bothering to dress.
  • A God Am I: God Serena sure believes his own hype too much and dismisses the Kurosakis as fakers claiming to be gods of death... Only for Ichigo to put him in his place.
  • A God I Am Not: After the Kurosakis explain that a Soul Reaper is a god of death, they are quick to assure everyone that they are still human in every way that matters.
  • The Gadfly: Warrod is this as Makarov informs Ichigo about his weird sense of humor despite being one of Fairy Tail's founders and a kindhearted nature lover, and he demonstrated it by offering to step down and let Ichigo take his place among the Four Gods of Ishgar... Before revealing that it is just a joke in front of the entire gathering much to their chagrin.
  • Genre Savvy: When Team Natsu involved themselves with Eclair, Karin warns Mirajane that Fairy Tail must prepare for something big just in case as she knows unexpected visits from strangers leads to trouble.
  • Gracefully Demoted: When Makarov learns that he was demoted down to 10th rank in the Ten Wizard Saints post-7 years timeskip, he was fine with it. Unfortunately, God Serena uses that to mock Makarov when antagonizing the Kurosakis and anyone who try to reason with him.
  • Happily Adopted:
    • Happy considers Natsu and Lisanna his parents, even calling Lisanna "Mama".
    • After Yukino is kicked out of Sabertooth, Ichigo and Orihime adopt her as their daughter.
  • Hated by All: Nobody among the Ten Wizard Saints likes God Serena since he is really rude and arrogant, and they only tolerated him because of his top rank and strength as Ishgar's mightiest mage. They all felt cathartic to see him put in his place by Ichigo and storming off in humiliation to contact August from Alvarez about the Kurosakis.
  • Heroic RRoD:
    • Wendy puts on Kazui's Hollow Mask and gains incredible power as a result, but her body is not used to spiritual energy and slowly breaks down the longer she fights. Fortunately, Orihime heals her.
    • Madeline feeds Natsu her spiritual fire to give him a massive power boost so he can take on Future Rogue, but his body breaks down before he can finish him off.
  • Hybrid Power: In addition to Ichigo being insanely powerful due to him being a hybrid of Soul Reaper, Hollow, Quincy, and Fullbringer and Kazui being similar due to being his son, Karin has a Hollow's Hierro and Yuzu has a Hollow's Healing Factor.
  • Honor Before Reason: After learning that Dyst and his team attacked Fairy Tail as part of the job they took from Duke Cream, Carbuncle guild master Tyson Hammer decided to get the rest of the Guild involved. He knows that even if Carbuncle is powerful in its own right, they are no match for the military forces of Veronica if they break off the contract with the sovereign ruler of the principality.
  • I Always Wanted to Say That: Ichigo and Kazui help Team Natsu train for the Grand Magic Games. Ichigo tricks Natsu into doing the embarrassing and useless, "Amazing Headband of Justice in place, Amazing Armor of Justice protect me!" chant. After Natsu humiliates himself, Ichigo laughs and says he always wanted to do that to someone ever since that time Urahara tricked him into saying it.
  • Imperiled in Pregnancy: Rustyrose strikes the pregnant Lisanna in the gut, which thankfully doesn't cause a miscarriage, and kidnaps her.
  • It's Personal: During his contact with August, God Serena demands that when the time comes for Alvarez's invasion, he would be the one to kill Ichigo personally for humiliating him and to show the Soul Reapers what a real god is.
  • I Want Grandkids: Orihime is happy that Wendy and Kazui like each other and hopes they give her grandkids. Everybody gets weirded out since they are both only 12.
  • Kid from the Future: Madeline Dragneel, daughter of Natsu and Lisanna, travels to the present to try to save the world from the event that ended up killing her parents and several others.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Chase from Carbuncle decided to withdraw from kidnapping Eclair at the hotel he infiltrated after being confronted by Karin and he was intimidated by her power unknown to him, even noting that she isn't even a mage at all.
  • Last of His Kind: The Kurosakis are apparently the only survivors of their world. Yuzu directly calls herself the Last True Quincy, at least until Yukino becomes one. Nel and a few other Arrancar survived as well.
  • Light 'em Up: Kazui's Shikai, Mangetsu, gives him light-based powers. His release command is "Shine".
  • Making a Splash: Karin's Shikai, Suishigetsu, gives her water-based powers. Her release command is "Submerge".
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": This tends to happen whenever the Kurosaki family demonstrates their powers. Later, when Ichigo shares everything to the Magic Council and explains Yhwach, everyone freaks out when he says there is an infinitesimal chance that Yhwach could follow them to Earth Land.
  • Militaries Are Useless: In Chapter 29, the Magic Council is taking steps to avert this as they currently possessed Grimoire Heart's Cool Airship that has been captured and repurposed as the Rune Knights' mobile base of operations with hopes of reverse engineering it to create their own fleet of airships, and they have increased the recruitment and training of new members in its ranks.
  • Mistaken for Romance: Lisanna was depressed for a while because she thought Natsu and Lucy were a couple. Lucy quickly assures that they are not.
  • Momma's Boy: Kazui is this as his mother Orihime loves to give her son hugs, embarrassing him in front of the guild.
  • Money Is Not Power: Princess Hisui E. Fiore's money and royal titles are meaningless when facing superhumans like Karin and Yuzu who don't give a damn who she is or how much money she has and will not hesitate to kill her for hurting their family. Hisui laments that she thought she was untouchable, but now she knows that she never had any real power at all.
  • The Mole: God Serena is this as he contacted August from the Alvarez Empire to relay information about the Kurosakis from the meeting he attended, revealing that he is a spy working for Alvarez compared to canon where he simply defected to Zeref's empire.
  • My Greatest Failure: Ichigo is still haunted and has nightmares of failing to stop Yhwach.
  • Mythology Gag: The armor Loke wears when he and Ophiuchus appears to the Magic Council as official representatives of the Celestial Spirit King is from Eclipse Leo from the Eclipse Celestial Spirits filler arc.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • The Celestial Spirits are aware of the fall of the Bleach world, since they are able to cross dimensions and had met a few Soul Reapers in the past. Loke later says several Soul Reapers saved the Celestial Spirit World from a crisis several thousand years ago.
    • The spirit of Zirconis says that the dragons knew of the Soul Reapers, describing Yamamoto and Retsu Unohana.
  • Not-So-Omniscient Council of Bickering: In Chapter 27, Makarov explains to Ichigo that the Ten Wizard Saints do not work together as a team and mind their own business such as running a Guild or taking Council-sanctioned missions for example until they were called for a meeting at Era, the headquarters of the Magic Council. On the other hand, it is Downplayed as some Wizard Saints get along amicably when they meet each other in a gathering. Except God Serena.
    • However, some of the Wizard Saints were adamant about apprehending the former dark mages of Crime Sorciére but others seem to be neutral in this regard while a small number (like Makarov and Warrod) were actually sympathetic to them.
  • Outside-Context Problem: The Kurosakis in general to Earth Land. They possess power greater than even the strongest mages and even Dragons. And yet the family had fled from Yhwach who is stated to be much stronger than all of them to their world.
  • Original Character:
    • Madeline Dragneel, the daughter of Natsu Dragneel and Lisanna Strauss from the future.
    • Chapter 27 and 29 revealed some other members of the Ten Wizard Saints compared to canon where they were The Ghost:
      • Centurion, the 6th ranked member who is a Machias member of Quattro Cerberus.
      • Cassandra Brosnan, the 7th ranked member who is the Guild Master of Mermaid Heel.
      • Furena, the 8th ranked member who is one of the commanders of the Rune Knights.
      • Solaseed, the 9th ranked member who was a retired commander of Zentopia Church's Legion Corps and a predecessor of Byro Cracy.
    • Tyson Hammer is the Guild Master of Carbuncle and the husband of Valeria Hammer, his second-in-command while Doronach is the strongest member of Carbuncle.
  • Parental Substitute: While explaining their past, Ichigo admits that he, Orihime, and everyone else in Soul Society saw Retsu Unohana as a mother figure.
  • Playing with Fire: Madeline's Fullbring, Dragon's Lineage, focused on her scarf, makes her fireproof and lets her ignite and control fire.
  • Power Limiter: The Kurosaki family all have seals that take away roughly 80% of their power.
  • Pretender Diss: When Rustyrose shows off his Imagination-Based Superpower, Ichigo dismisses him as a lamer version of Gremmy Thoumeaux since Rustyrose is not as creative and only makes things instead of defying the laws of physics like Gremmy could.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: When Ichigo fights Kagura, he admires her beautiful sword, Archenemy, and asks how she feels about it. She says she does not care about it at all and only sees it as a tool to get revenge on Jellal. Disgusted, he tears into her for not respecting her weapon and says with an attitude like that, she will never defeat him since by not putting her heart and soul into her weapon, her strikes are weaker.
  • Red Baron:
    • Isshin was called "Burning Moon" because of his fire powers and has been compared to a solar eclipse. Ichigo is called "Slaying Moon" because his energy is black and has been compared to a new moon. Kazui is called "Shining Moon" because he has light powers and has been compared to a full moon. Karin is called "Drowning Moon" because she has water powers and has been compared to the moon controlling the tides.
    • In Chapter 27, there were some epithets among the Ten Wizard Saints especially for the canon members:
      • Centurion is called the "Devastator of Evil" because of his Blast Magic with swords which aptly describes his usage as "Screw everything in that general direction!"
      • Solaseed is called the "Warrior Nun" because she is dressed like one, possesses the Arc of Heavens Lost Magic and was a former leader of the Legion Corps before retiring and Byro Cracy took her place.
      • Warrod Sequen is called "Nature's Shepherd" because of his charitable actions of turning barren wastelands into lush forests with his Green Magic.
      • Wolfheim is called the "Beast Lord" because of his Magic, the Ultimate Destruction Incarnate, which allows him to turn into a raging beast of unrivaled strength.
      • Draculos Hyberion is called "The Ultimate Vampire" because of his Vampire Magic that is stated to give him a variety of vampire-based powers aside from choking targets by the neck in canon.
  • Running Gag:
    • Whenever Natsu and Gray fight or a Bar Brawl happens, Ichigo tells Yuzu to beat them up. She is unhappy about being crowd control.
    • Karin teasing someone and Yuzu scolding her for it.
    • Whenever someone swears, one of the Kurosakis holds up a swear jar and makes them put money in it.
  • Samus Is a Girl: In Chapter 28, Yukino is surprised to see Ophiuchus in human form and that the Thirteenth Zodiac, who previously appeared as a giant armored snake in the Grand Magic Games, is a woman when she and Loke appear as official representatives of the Celestial Spirit King in the gathering.
  • See the Invisible: Because of their spiritual awareness, the Kurosakis can see Mavis Vermillion even when she makes herself invisible to the other Fairy Tail members.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend:
    • Whenever people tease Kazui and Wendy about their relationship, they go, "It's not like that!"
    • When Lucy learns Lisanna was jealous of her, thinking she and Natsu were together, Lucy is shocked and says she only thought of him as a friend.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Pretty much everyone who meets them ships Kazui and Wendy.
    • Ichigo encourages Jellal to tell Erza how he feels.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Centurion's appearance describes him to be that of a Great Crusade-era Space Marine Terminator from Warhammer 40,000.
    • Solaseed's epithet "Warrior Nun" and appearance are references from Warrior Nun Areala.
    • Wolfheim's epithet "Beast Lord" is based from Jaguar of the Oración Seis Interstellar who holds that title and can transform into a powerful humanoid beast from EDENS ZERO.
    • Draculos Hyberion is called by Ichigo a Count Dracula ripoff after he is described by Makarov.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Ichigo does this to Sid, one of the Magic Council members who shouts at him for claiming to be a God of Death, by exerting a bit of his spiritual pressure to the whole gathering.
  • Sleep Cute: Kazui and Wendy fall asleep together and hug. Everyone who walks in on them calls it the cutest thing they have ever seen.
  • So Proud of You: Laxus, Gajeel, and Wendy sniff Natsu and Lisanna and realize that they had sex. Wendy gets embarrassed while Laxus and Gajeel get jealous, but the latter two admit they are proud of Natsu for getting a woman despite his denseness.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: By the end of the Phoenix Priestess arc, Momon does not get burned to death and Orihime is able to remove Eclair's immortality and connection to the Phoenix so that she does not die when it does.
  • Super-Empowering:
    • Before Wendy's match with Sherria, Kazui lends her his Hollow Mask. Putting it on fills her with his spiritual energy, drastically increasing her power. Later, the spirit of Zirconis says she still has the energy in her body and will become an unparalleled Dragon Slayer. Wendy later reveals she can now sense and see spiritual energy.
    • The Kurosakis decide to help turn Yukino into a Quincy.
    • The Arrancar induced Hollowfication in Phantom Lord and their allies.
  • The Spymaster: Draculos Hyberion is this as he was able to gather intel about Tartaros that the last Balam Alliance member is managing few laboratories that were guarded by Grimmjow and his Espada when reporting to Gran Doma in the meeting.
  • Talk to the Fist: Ichigo backhands God Serena while he is calling Orihime a whore. God Serena angrily attempts an attack, but Ichigo grabs and throws him down mid-sentence.
  • Tarot Troubles: Before going on a mission to investigate the revived Phantom Lord, Cana does a Tarot reading and gets the Ten of Swords, which means disaster.
  • Their First Time: After their big damn kiss, Natsu and Lisanna make love, both to comfort each other and to try to conceive Madeline so they can eventually see her again.
  • These Hands Have Killed: Natsu kills Dyst, then is horrified by what he just did and swears to never kill again.
  • This Cannot Be!: Future Rogue and the dragons that come out of the Eclipse Gate are caught off guard by how powerful the Kurosakis are and are shocked that they can injure dragons even though they are not Dragon Slayers.
  • Token Robot: Centurion is a Machias who is a member of Quattro Cerberus and the Ten Wizard Saints.
  • Villain Team-Up: Phantom Lord has revived with Jose Porla still bent on revenge against Fairy Tail. He's made an alliance with the surviving members of Grimoire Heart like Rustyrose and the Arrancar.
  • Virtue Is Weakness: Minerva uses Milianna as a hostage to try to force Erza and Ichigo to surrender, gloating that their compassion and desire to protect others is their weakness. This backfires when Ichigo points out that since he wants to protect others, he will not hesitate to do what is necessary. He uses a Flash Step to get right next to Minerva and stabs her to make her drop Milianna.
  • Wacky Cravings: Lisanna starts craving food like crab dipped in chocolate, fish dipped in soy and tomato sauce, and eats a whole loaf of bread. The Kurosaki family deduces that Natsu got her pregnant.
  • Wham Line:
    • Chapter 25 reveals Tartaros has some Arrancar in their ranks. Also, some comments indicate that Grimmjow is in Earthland.
    • Lisanna is captured by the revived Phantom Lord and put in a cell. Her cellmate is a familiar looking child. "My name... is Nel."
  • Witch Hunt: Centurion hunts down Dark Guilds befitting his epithet and apprehends them such as Avatar.
  • Wizard Classic: Valeria, the wife of Carbuncle guild master Tyson, is this which stands her out from most female mages who wear Stripperific outfits and fights with a sword and staff in battle.
  • Worf Had the Flu: When Lucy, Yukino, and Arcadios are arrested, the others are unable to help because they were next to the Eclipse Gate, which sucks up magical and spiritual energy. Kazui attempts his Shikai anyway and passes out.
  • Worthy Opponent: Ichigo and Jura Neekis regard each other as this. During the Grand Magic Games, Jura is the only opponent who manages to hit and damage Ichigo.
  • Would Hurt a Child:
    • More like kill a child. Future Rogue does this by punching through Madeline's chest.
    • Phantom Lord tortured Nel while getting samples from her for Hollowfication experiments.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Lucy mocks Geese's name taken from a waterfowl during the pursuit to capture the wanted man.
  • Wrecked Weapon:
    • Ichigo breaks Kagura's sword, Archenemy, in half. This hinders her when Future Rogue begins his dragon invasion as she laments she needs a sword to fight. Later, Orihime uses her powers to repair it, but Ichigo keeps it.
    • Erza is attacked by an Arrancar whose sword effortlessly shatters her sword and her armor to seriously injure her. Ichigo returns the favor and shatters his sword, but he and his partner escape.
  • Wrong Context Magic: The Fairy Tail characters fuel their abilities by absorbing Ethernano (magical energy) in the air. The Bleach characters can fuel their abilities by absorbing spiritual energy in the air, but mostly generate the energy themselves because it comes from their very souls. So far, only Celestial Spirits also use spiritual energy for obvious reasons. The Fairy Tail characters can sense spiritual energy, but it is difficult because it is different from magic. The Fairy Tail characters also often get baffled by Soul Reaper, Hollow, Quincy, and Fullbringer abilities like Kido spells. Obra, who can drain the magic from others, is shocked when his ability has no effect on Ichigo Kurosaki since he uses spiritual energy. Similarly, Kama is shocked when his magic-draining scythes have no effect on Karin. However, the Eclipse Gate provides an aversion as it still absorbs spiritual energy used near it just as it does with magic.
  • Wrong Time-Travel Savvy: Ultear assumes she can kill Rogue to erase Future Rogue from existence. The others stop her and point out it won't work. Since Future Rogue had no idea who the Kurosakis are even though Rogue knows them quite well, this means he is from an alternate timeline and is not actually connected to Rogue.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Orihime prevents Ultear's suicidal use of Last Ages by telling her she isn't as Beyond Redemption as she thinks, using the fact that Gray and Meredy forgave her as proof.
  • You Remind Me of X:
    • Natsu reminds Ichigo and Orihime of Keigo because his goofy antics. He also reminds Ichigo of his younger self because of his Leeroy Jenkins attitude.
    • Erza reminds Ichigo of his younger self because of her steadfast principles.
    • Wendy reminds Orihime of herself because she is also a gentle healer who is learning confidence.
    • Mavis reminds Orihime of both Urahara and Aizen because they are all geniuses at battle tactics.
