Creator / Wendee Lee

"No matter what game I play or anime I watch, Wendee Lee will always be there, taking the job away from another starving voice actor."
Lee, Still Gaming review of Soul Calibur IV

Wendee Lee (born February 20, 1960 in Los Angeles, CA) is a prolific American voice actress. While she has done voice work for many video games, as well as several episodes in the Power Rangers franchise (most notably the second voice of Alpha 6), she is particularly prolific in the dubbing of anime, where she has more credits than any other English-speaking actor, with about 300 credits, and has been an active voice actress since 1985.

Lee is also experienced in ADR directing. Earlier director credits include Outlaw Star and Love Hina. She, alongside Kirk Thornton also directed the ADR process for Bleach up until episode 168.

Most fans consider her the Western equivalent of Megumi Hayashibara and the anime equivalent of Tress MacNeille and Tara Strong due to the sheer length of her résumé and many voice types, which includes many famous roles such as Faye Valentine, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Haruhi Suzumiya.

It is safe to say that Kira Buckland could be considered her Spiritual Successor in terms of the energetic girl typecast. Carrie Keranen also counts as her other Spiritual Successor in terms of similar vocal range. Her Texan counterparts (for both Houston and Dallas) are Jessica Calvello (in terms of the Genki Girl typecast, and also was formerly her New York equivalent) and Luci Christian (in terms of playing different types of characters with different vocal ranges), and her Vancouver counterpart is Venus Terzo.
