Note: Any ship girl marked with an asterisk (*) indicates that while artwork exists for that ship girl, she has not been implemented at the time of writing.

Royal Navy

Destroyers (DD)

     The G Class

Glowworm

     The J Class

Javelin

  • Genki Girl: It didn't last though.
  • I Am Who?: Implied, it is said that her parents began to fear her after she survived "an incident in which she had no chance of surviving" when she was young.
  • Imported Alien Phlebotinum: According to the artist, her remodelling involves the use of experimental technology reverse engineered from the enemy fleet...
  • The Corruption: ...Which turned out to be a terrible idea, since she was particularly susceptible to the enemy fleet's influences due to being heavily wounded by them in a previous mission. She ended up attacking her teammates while unconscious and was forced to escape the navy to avoid capture.
  • Ojou: Said to be one before she joined the navy.

     The Battle Class

Barfleur

Light Cruisers (CL)

     The Edinburgh Class

Edinburgh

  • Scotireland: Wears an Tartan quilt and a bearskin hat.

Belfast

  • Scotireland: Like her sister Edinburgh, she also wears a Tartan quilt but wears a Glengarry cap and plays a bagpipe. Also she has green hair, alluding to her Irish heritage.

Heavy Cruisers (CA)

     The London Class

London

  • Lethal Chef: Her "British Gourmet" outfit includes cans of what appears to be ominously glowing dog food, lampooning the terrible reputation of British food. When wearing this outfit, the horrible food even replaces her regular shells!
    • Not even London herself is immune to them, as her damaged artwork has her doing a Thousand-Yard Stare, with a roll of toilet paper laying beside her.

     The Kent Class

Kent

  • Joke Item: Her remodeled form includes "Big Ferocious Tiger" among its equipment, because the real HMS Kent had a Bengal tiger on board as the crew's mascot.

Light Aircraft Carriers (CVL)

     The Attacker Class

Chaser

  • Junk Rare: Despite being extremely rare, her armor, evasion, and carrying capacity are all hilariously low. She is vastly outclassed by the far more common Ranger.

Aircraft Carriers (CV)

     The Ark Royal Class

Ark Royal

Battlecruisers (BC)

     The Admiral Class

Hood

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hood_1.png

     The Renown Class

Renown

  • Next Tier Power-Up: The resources it take to remodel her is several times more than the resources it take to build her. note  But most admirals would agree that it's worth every penny.

Battleships (BB)

     The Nelson Class

Nelson

  • Eyes Always Shut: Or Right Eye Always Shut to be exact. This is a reference to her namesake, who lost eyesight in his right eye during the Siege of Calvi.

     The King George V Class

Prince of Wales

  • Came Back Wrong: Ends up possessed by one of the progenitors of the enemy fleet after dying.
  • Energy Absorption: Her fusion with the "guest" gives her the ability to absorb the Life Energy of anything she touches, particularly ocean life.
  • Enemy Within: Is in a constant struggle against the "guest" for control.
  • Eyepatch of Power: She wears one over her left eye after remodelling... Which actually conceals the core of the "guest", the only thing that's keeping her alive.
  • Scenery Censor: In Mod 1 damage CG, her guns cover up her bare breasts after her blouse gets ripped.
  • The Corruption: After she was sunk during battle, she was taken over by the "guest", one of the progenitors of the eneny fleet, who saw her as an ideal vessel for it. She survived, but the "guest" became part of her permanently.

     The Queen Elizabeth Class

Warspite

  • The Tease: Is depicted lifting her dress, a reference to Admiral Cunningham's famous line.
"There is no question when the old lady lifts her skirts she can run."

Queen Elizabeth

     The Lion Class

Lion

Kriegsmarine

Destroyers (DD)

     The Zerstörer 1936-AM Class

Z31

  • Hidden Buxom: While she might not look like much at first glance, her damaged artwork shows that she is easily one of the most well-endowed destroyers in the game.

Light Cruisers (CL)

     The Königsberg Class
  • Art Shift: All three switch to a darker art style after remodelling, especially Königsberg.

Aircraft Carriers (CV)

     The Graf Zeppelin Class

Graf Zeppelin

Battleships (BB)

     The Bismarck Class

Tirpitz

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: An exceptionally powerful ship just like her sister, though she's more interested in staying in the docks and reading doujinshi (apparently featuring her sister) than fighting.
    • This changes after she receives her remodelling. She becomes a much more serious person, as evidenced by her quotes. It is heavily implied that this is because of Bismarck's death.
  • Hikikomori: Depicted as one, since she served her entire career as a fleet in being in Norway.

Battlecruisers (BC)

     The Deutschland Class
  • Badass Adorable: All three are portrayed as being preteen aged, a reference to the fact that the real Deutchsland class was significantly smaller than other battlecruisers.

Submarines (SS)

     U-Boat Type VIIB

U47

     U-Boat Type IXC

U-505

  • Animation Bump: Her battle animation is noticably more detailed than any other submarine.
  • What Could Have Been: The artist originally wanted to make her look a lot more mature. Though "submarine = loli" has pretty much became the norm by that point. So the artwork was changed.

US Navy

Destroyers (DD)

     The Fletcher-class

Fletcher (DD-445)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wsg_fletcher.png
The personification of the USS Fletcher.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Her skill, which increases her stats based on how many Fletcher-class ships have been unlocked. A common joke among the fandom is that she'll be virtually unstoppable when the other 174 Fletcher-class destroyers are in the game.
  • Bragging Rights Reward: She is obtained as a reward of a chain of collection missions requiring some very rare ships. However, her stats are not very impressive for the amount of trouble required to obtain her.
    • Averted after she received remodeling. Her remodeled form becomes significantly more useful due to the increased stats and her skill, which increase her stats even further for every Fletcher-class destroyer in the index.

O'Bannon (DD-450)

The personification of the USS O'Bannon.

William D. Porter (DD-579)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wsg_willie_dee.png
The personification of the USS William D. Porter.
  • Born Unlucky: Exaggerated. Her special skill actually lowers her already-low Luck, and levelling it to the max results in a skill that has absolutely no effect whatsoever.

Light Cruisers (CL)

     The Atlanta-class

Atlanta (CL-51)

The personification of the USS Atlanta.

Oakland (CL-96)

The personification of the USS Oakland.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: She wears a kneehigh boot on her left leg and a thighhigh boot with a cat-shaped top on her right.
  • Spikes of Villainy: The villainy part is debatable, but her skirt does have a lot of spikes for no obvious reason.

Heavy Cruisers (CA)

     The Portland-class

Indianapolis (CA-35)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wsg_indianapolis.png
The personification of the USS Indianapolis.
  • Gratuitous English: Her introduction quote.
  • Historical In-Joke: Comes equipped with a crate named "Top Secret Shipment" that reduces her luck and evasion stats. When disassembled, it gives 235 units of fuel, referencing the Uranium-235 transported by the real Indianapolis for the Little Boy. (Both "oil" and "uranium" are pronounced "you" in Chinese)
  • Shout-Out: Her marriage quote is a direct reference to Bravestarr.
Indianapolis: Eyes of the hawk, speed of the puma, strength of the bear, I have none of these... But I have you, and that's enough.

     The New Orleans-class

Quincy (CA-39)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wsg_quincy.png
The personification of the USS Quincy.
  • Ascended Meme:
    • The 2.6.0 update added quotes for her, many of which are references to the fan song "Love of Quincy Quin".
    • The Quincy server, which was opened on June 22, 2016, was named "0v0" at first, referencing her invokedFan Nickname, though it was later changed back to "Quincy".
  • Hostile Show Takeover: In the days leading up to the 2017 April Fools' Day event, Quincy began slowly creeping into the official Twitter account for the Japanese server, and child Tirpitz (the mascot of the Twitter account) mentions that Quincy has been acting strangely... When the event finally came, Quincy immediately took over the official account: the profile image was changed to a picture of Quincy, and the location and birth date were changed from the place where Tirpitz was laid down and the year she was launched to Quincy's. In the game itself, Quincy's construction probability rose three times, child Tirpitz was found in the war spoils shop, with a ridiculously high price making it impossible to actually buy her (apparently, Quincy locked her in there), and the bulletin board is occupied by this image. After the event ended, Tirpitz took back the account, and Quincy got what she deserved.
  • Pokémon Speak: Although she can speak normally in the game, many fan works (including ones created by her official artist) depict her as only able to say "Quincy", the fact that her own official artist loves to play up her ditzyness doesn't help either.
  • The Ditz: Often depicted as one in fanworks due to her artist's portrayal of her. Even her remodelling quote was changed after the artist said that it sounded too serious and that Quincy is too dumb to say something like that.
Quincy: Although the sky is still cloudy, the dawn of victory (peeks at note) is coming! I will be together with you.note
    • Because of this, she is often paired up with other blue-haired ditz like Touhou Project's Cirno and KonoSuba's Aqua in fanworks.
  • The Rival: Of Aoba, the description of Aoba's idol costume even flat says "The goal is: defeat Quincy!"

    The Des Moines-class

Des Moines (CA-134)

The personification of the U.S.S. Des Moines.
  • BFG: She wields a tri-barreled Gatling with an 8in triple gun turret at the end of each.
  • Boob-Based Gag: Her breasts are so massive she can't button up her blouse over them.
  • Expy: The ship was nicknamed "Daisy Mae" after the Li'l Abner character, and the design resembles the character too.
  • Going Commando: The lack of bra is rather obvious, especially compared to her sister Newport News, who *does* wear one. But the artist released a series of alternate images where she is nude save for her pantyhose, and it is very obvious that she's not wearing panties under there either.

Aircraft Carriers (CV)

     The Lexington-class

Lexington (CV-2)

The personification of the USS Lexington.
  • Breakout Character: Seemingly the most popular ship in the game based on fanart output, and the most commonly chosen marriage partner. Due to the latter she was given the "Love Blues" costume, which is simply a wedding dress.
  • Fanservice Pack: Her remodel exchanges her sailor blouse for a blazer without blouse that lets you see her bra. And her "Strap Bikini" costume is Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Lady Lex"
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Despite her gentle and feminine personality, she's no pushover when it comes to fighting.

Saratoga (CV-3)

The personification of the USS Saratoga.

     The Ranger-class

Ranger (CV-4)

The personification of the USS Ranger.
  • Brainless Beauty: The character design was drawn with a "big boobs, tiny brain" type fanservice character in mind.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Even though her clothes sometimes break from enemy fire, she eventually got used to it and actually gets more excited when she feels others looking at her. Which is why she's smiling even in her "damaged" portrait.

     The Yorktown-class
  • Phenotype Stereotype: Like the Lexington sisters, all three of them have blonde hair and blue eyes.

Enterprise (CV-6)

The personification of the USS Enterprise.
  • Rule 34: By her official artist no less.

Hornet (CV-8)

The personification of the USS Hornet.

     The Essex-class

Essex (CV-9)

The personification of the USS Essex.
  • Ascended Meme: Scharnhorst's costume shows a bag of dumpling powder with a picture of Essex on it, referencing Essex's invokedFan Nickname of "dumpling".
  • Stripperiffic: Averted, as even her damaged illustration doesn't show any skin, referencing how the USS Essex almost never took damage during WWII.

Battleships (BB)

     The Nevada-class

     The North Carolina-class

North Carolina (BB-55)

The personification of the USS North Carolina.
  • Mentor Archetype: To Washington.
  • Super Mode: Normally looks like a young girl, but turns into a mature woman and becomes more powerful when she gets serious... After the transformation wears out, she regresses even further for a period of time and has to recover slowly.

Washington (BB-56)

The personification of the USS Washington.

     The South Dakota-class

South Dakota (BB-57)

The personification of the USS South Dakota.
  • Captain Ersatz: Dark-skinned blonde in of itself isn't anything, but the combination of that, the platinum blonde shade, the flower in her hair and her outfit's colour scheme makes her look a lot like Kancolle's version of Ro-500.

     The Iowa-class

Missouri (BB-63)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wsg_missouri.png
"The instrument is in place, now let us go and make the enemies sign it on the battlefield. And Commander? You only need to prepare a speech."
The personification of the USS Missouri, best known for being the site where the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed. She is a calm and collected woman with great leadership ability, and is very popular within the fleet. Though she can be playful at times and is known to tease her underlings occasionally.
  • A World Half Full: She wishes for a world that advocates "freedom, tolerance, and justice" after the war.
  • Crazy-Prepared: She carries five pens, just in case she needs to write down some random thoughts.note
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: Only she can use her main weapon, the Mark 7 gun early type. This was likely done to prevent equipment farming.
  • The Leader: Perceptive, levelheaded, and charismatic.
  • The Storyteller: She considers becoming one after the war is over, a nod to the fact that she became a museum ship after she was decommissioned.
  • Worthy Opponent: She laments that there is no suitable opponent she can train with, and that she never got to fight the one ship worthy of being her rivalnote .
Missouri: If I still do not have the chance to fight her this time, that would simply be... too vapid.

Imperial Japanese Navy

Destroyers (DD)

     The Fubuki Class

Fubuki

  • Chuunibyou: Likes to act like a Magical Girl, constantly talking about magic and making contract with the admiral, even though she shows no sign of actually knowing how to use magic (unlike Glowworm).
  • Cool Big Sis: Becomes this after remodelling.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: Originally, she's the foolish one while Shirayuki's the responsible one. Though she tries hard to become more responsible after remodelling.
  • Older and Wiser: Becomes a lot more serious and mature after remodelling, and drops the Magical Girl act.
  • Self-Made Man: At first, she only cared about having fun and mostly just slacked off during training. However, this changed when Akatsuki received remodelling before her. Believing that playing around all day long cost her chance of remodelling, she secretly began training at night. This explains her changed attitude after remodelling.

Shirayuki

Hatsuyuki

  • Passionate Sports Girl: The only one of the sisters to wear sneakers. She also constantly urges the admiral to exercise more.

Miyuki

  • Cute Ghost Girl: Implied to be one, since she was accidentally killed by Inazuma before WWII even started. She has will-o'-the-wisps around her and her turret floats, she gets evasive when asked about it though.

     The Akatsuki Class

Akatsuki

  • Badass Adorable: Not only is she cute, she also has some of the highest dodge and torpedo stats
  • Cool Big Sis: One of her lines at night has her worrying about Hibiki, since she's afraid of the dark.
  • Draw Aggro: Her skill, Forceful Reconnaissance, is this. It increases the accuracy of the entire fleet at the cost of increasing her own chance of being attacked during night battles.note  Though she usually has no problem with the extra attention due to her high dodge stats.

Hibiki

  • Apologises a Lot: She apologizes in her introduction quote, for no apparent reason. She also apologizes when damaged.
  • Extreme Doormat: She has some serious inferiority complex before remodelling. Though she gets better after becoming Верный.
  • Gratuitous Russian: She starts speaking in Russian after being remodelled into Верный. Unlike her KanColle counterpart, though, it is made clear that she's still learning. According to Word of God, the book she carries after remodelling is a Japanese-Russian dictionary.
  • Hates Being Alone: Most likely the result of being the Sole Survivor of her class. She even asks the admiral not to leave her alone at night. Though she gets over this after remodelling.
  • Reluctant Warrior / Shell-Shocked Veteran: Her lines imply that she really, really doesn't want to fight.
  • Survivor Guilt: Heavily implied to be the cause of the abovementioned inferiority complex.

     The Kagerou Class

Yukikaze

  • Born Lucky: Have one of the highest base luck stat in game which can be further increased thanks to her skill.
  • Doom Magnet: Her special skill makes her this by absorbing the luck of everyone in her fleet and giving her bonus evasion based on the luck absorbed.
  • Rare Random Drop: She only have a low chance of dropping in the boss nodes in the map 2-5 which is only unlocked after the completion of world 5 and is filled with tough enemies.

Arashi

  • Historical In-Joke: The little nautilus beside her complete with hull number. A reference to the real life Arashi who chased after the submarine USS Nautilus and eventually leading the US dive bomber squadron to the Japanese carrier fleet.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her historical counterpart was trailed by the American SBD dive bombers to the Japanese carrier fleet. In fact she being a part of your fleet is a requirement for a guaranteed chance to reach the boss node for both the Ex-3 and Ex-4 map in the December 2015 Midway event.

     The Shimakaze Class

Shimakaze

Light Cruisers (CL)

     The Tenryuu Class

Tenryuu

  • Captain Ersatz: Except for the glasses and no eyepatch, really looks a lot like her KanColle counterpart.

     The Kuma Class

Kitakami

Ooi

Aircraft Carriers (CV)

     The Akagi Class

Akagi

  • Captain Ersatz: Looks suspiciously like her KanColle version.
    • Actually, both appear to be based on this humanized Akagi, which came out three years before KanColle.

     The Taihou Class

Taihou

  • Born Unlucky: As with her KanColle counterpart, she has a very low luck stat. Players can equip her with multiple chests of gold (taken from HMS Edinburgh, who comes with a chest of gold as part of her stock equipment), resulting in her having a NEGATIVE luck stat.

    The Yamato Class

Shinano

  • Born Unlucky: She has the lowest luck in the game at 1.
  • Joke Item: She still carries the torpedo from Archerfish with her when you first obtain her.

Republic of China Navy

Light Cruisers (CL)

     Unclassed

Yat Sen

People's Liberation Army Navy

Missile Destroyer (ASDG)

     Type 6607 / Anshan-class
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/changchun.png

Changchun

"Hey! Can you still recognize me in my new clothes? I really like the name 'Changchun', admiral, let us walk into the new era together. Are you ready?"
The personification of the Type 6607 (NATO designation: Anshan-class) destroyer Changchun, she was formerly the Soviet Navy destroyer Reshitelny. She, along with three other destroyers of the same class (Rezkiy, Rekordnyy, and Retivyy), were sold to China in the 1950s. At the time, they were the heaviest and most advanced vessels of the People's Liberation Army Navy, and were known as the "四大金刚" (lit. "Four Heavenly Kings"). In 1970, she, along with her sisters, finished modernization, and became the first missile destroyers of the Chinese Navy.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her missiles are powerful, but cost an absurd amount of bauxite to use, at least at firstnote . Not to mention her massive remodelling cost, as well as the high level requirement.
  • Balance Buff: She went through this more than once.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She was first hinted at in a paid costume for Reshitelny in January 2017. And even before that, she appeared on an advertisement in December 2016. She wasn't in-game until March 2017.
  • Foreshadowing: The above-mentioned costume has a Chinese couplet with "改造中" ("remodelling in progress") written on it pasted on the turret.
  • Wild Mass Guessing: Her appearance in that advertisement mentioned above created a ton of these. Mostly surrounding whether or not she's going to be a missile destroyer, or if there's going to be a separate missile mechanism introduced just for her. Both were later confirmed.
    • Now that she's here, people are starting to WMG about future missile-armed ships, such as Missouri and Gearing.

Marine Nationale

Destroyers (DD)

     The Le Fantasque Class

Le Fantasque

  • Captain Ersatz: Her appearance closely resembles KanColle's take on Murakumo, what with the similar hair colour and Anti-Gravity Clothing.
  • Fragile Speedster: She have the one of the highest evasion stat of all ships in the game. Due to the Le Fantasque class being the fastest destroyer class in the world, a record not broken 80+ years later. Her remodeled skill boosts this even further by giving her another 25% chance to dodge any hits than might land. However any shells that do land is going to deal heavy damage to her due to her naturally low armor and hp.

Battleships (BB)

     The Richelieu class

Richelieu

  • La Résistance: Of the original French variety. She even carries a Cross of Lorraine. This reflects the fact that Richelieu was the largest and most powerful ship of the Free French Navy.

Regia Marina

Battleships (BB)

     The Vittorio Veneto Class

Vittorio Veneto

     The Andrea Doria Class

Andrea Doria

  • Expy: She looks like Airi Akitsuki from the R-18 anime, Oni Chichi, and there are 2 things that seal the deal.
    • Sister ship Ciao Diulio is based on Airi's older sister, Marina.
    • She's given Airi's voice actress when voices were added to the game.
