Total Shuffled Island Series features all of Total Drama's cast, behaving according to many of their canonical tropes, but various divergences from canon bring the following tropes into play:

    open/close all folders

    Hosts

Chris McLean, the Host with the Most

  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: When Max assures him that he will have his revenge against him for kicking him out from the competition, Chris states that Max isn't the first person to swear that they will have their revenge on him.
  • Hypocrite: In both endings of the World Tour finale, when he realizes that the volcano is gonna erupt due to Staci giving Sugar her pinneaple effigy to throw into the lava in Sugar's ending or Staci not preventing Sugar from taking Ella's pinneaple effigy to throw into the lava in Ella's ending, Chris quickly blames Staci in both cases for allowing Sugar to throw pineapples into the volcano even though it was he who instructed Sugar and Ella, the final two, to do so so they could win, as Ella rightly points out in her ending.
  • I Shall Taunt You: While kidnapped by Blaineley, Scarlett and Staci during the 100th Total Drama episode, Chris loses no time in mocking Blaineley by asking if she got plastic surgery to recover from the facial injuries she suffered during World Tour or by assuring her that she is jealous that she sucks in the entertainment business, unlike him.
  • Pet the Dog:
    • To make it up to Tyler for using him as part of his "Total Drama Xtreme" plan to dupe the original contestants, he allows him to compete in the next season. He also lets Beardo and Dawn skip the random choice process and let them join automatically since they were cheated out of the game by Scarlett in the previous season, and when Ella is among the selected contestants he lets her join despite having no idea who she is.
    • He commends Izzy's suggestion for the Toxic Rats to be named Team Fireball, but declines due to having already chosen the team's name.
    • Despite not caring for the well-being of the contestants just like he notes, Chris states his intentions to pay for a therapist for Mike so he can learn how to deal with Mal better, if only because Chris wants to spite Mal for trying to kill him with tree-rockets.
  • Uncertain Doom: Averted. In the two Pahkitew Island possible endings where either Duncan or Eva wins the competition, Chris is shoved out of his helicopter by a vengeful Max and receives Dave's canon fate of being left stranded on the island at the mercy of the Scuba Bear. According to Word of God, Chris survived his encounter but ended up in the hospital.
  • Would Hit a Girl: He throws a ball at Sammy's stomach while explaining the dodgeball challenge in Island.

Chef Hatchet, the Scary Cook

  • Even Evil Has Standards: As Chef would say it, he does enjoy seeing "a buncha snot-nosed teenagers get into a world of pain" a bit, but he doesn't want to be too cruel about it, such as when Chris blackmails Mal and breaks Sky's heart to turn them against Duncan and Eva in the Pahkitew Island finale.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In canon, Chef expresses reluctance to some of the challenges Chris organizes and occasionally expresses concern for the contestants. Here, Chef definitely calls out Chris for turning Mal and Sky against Duncan and Eva during the Pahkitew Island finale and later leaves Chris stranded on the island in the endings where either Duncan or Eva wins after Max shoves Chris out of the helicopter. As Pahkitew Island is currently the Grand Finale of the fic series and Word of God considers Eva's ending canonical, it's likely Chef moved on from the show and turned his back on Chris.

Blaineley

Placements: 6th/7th (TSWT)

  • Freudian Excuse: During the 100th episode, Blaineley hints of having one by trying to reveal how her hatred towards Chris was born apparently due to something that involved her mother, but before she can tell more details, Scarlett interrupts her.
  • Hidden Villain: In "The Phantom of the Island", the Shuffledverse version of the 100th episode of Total Drama, during the episode's climax she reveals herself to have joined forces with Scarlett and Staci to get back at Chris by attempting to mutate him with toxic waste.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: As insufferable as she is, Blaineley is certainly right in some of her opinions:
    • Her feelings that Scarlett deserves going to prison for her crimes and must serve her sentence are absolutely right, considering that Scarlett tried to kill her fellow contestants, threatened countless lives by destroying the Aftermath studio and tried to extort Mr. Milton and the show's producers to pay ransoms for Dakota and Chris.
    • She expresses, along with Josh, her support to Sammy during her online feud with Amy, correctly pointing out to Josh that Sammy deserves their support because she is a total sweetheart and a lovable underdog.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Blaineley seems to be attracted to Alejandro, though her crush on him appears to be more in line with the one she had in canon for Justin, who is introduced much later in the fic series. She also makes some sort of appearance in All-Stars, though in a much larger capacity.

    Island

Alejandro, the Arch Villain

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Universe, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 3rd (TSI), 12th (TSA), 3rd (TSWT), 10th (TSAS)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Up, Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon (Episode 10)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Alejandro canonically joined the show in World Tour, here he joins the competition in Island.
  • Big Bad: Of Island. He takes up Heather's status as the most iconic one complete with receiving a gold tooth & a cameo in the Shuffled version of "Up, Up and Away in My Pitiful Balloon". Although he's followed by several villains who surpass him in evilness and ruthlessness (Scarlett, Sugar, Noah, Scott and Heather), Alejandro is still the most recognizable here.
  • Entitled Bastard: Just like with Heather in canon, he tries to steal the prize money during his cameo in Revenge of the Island, stating it belongs to him. Courtney points out how he never even made the finale in any of the seasons he took part in, and he says that he deserves the money more than anyone after all the pain and humiliation he endured on the show.
  • The One Guy: Served as this for Team Universe. He briefly lost the role during Shawn's short tenure on it.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: In Island, he notifies the Killer Bass that Scott sabotaged their canoes during the Boney Island challenge, despite being part of the Screaming Gophers. However, as he later reveals in the confessional, he did this just to gain their trust, as he previously planned to just leave Scott to keep sabotaging his own team.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Alejandro at least makes it to the final three of World Tour and gets to be a helper during the finale of All-Stars.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Just like with Heather in canon, Alejandro apparently remains inside Chris' blimp during his guest appearance in Revenge of the Island when the aircraft crashes into the sea. However, his return in All-Stars confirms his survival.
  • Villain Has a Point: In World Tour, he correctly points out to Sammy that, with Dawn's departure from the competition, Scarlett and Sugar will be able to vote her off if she doesn't join an alliance, persuading her to join his alliance.
  • Villainous Gold Tooth His label is the Arch Villain. Taking Heather's canon role of gold-toothed Entitled Bastard, he becomes the Big Bad of Island. He gets a gold tooth to replace the tooth he loses when Chef accidentally punches him in the face.

Amy, the Bad Twin

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers
Placements: 12th (TSI), Ineligible to win (TSA)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Amy canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • All for Nothing: She states this in regards to her inability to work around the "finals ineligibility" clause of her contract for being added late into season two.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: She went into season two determined to be the main antagonist, but only succeeded in irritating everyone while Scarlett easily manipulates her into following her own strategies.
  • It's All About Me: In Dawn's words, Amy's need to stand out in everything has consumed and twisted her to the point of being willing to do anything to make Sammy less than herself.
  • Sore Loser: Upon being eliminated, Amy swears that she will get back at Sammy. After she returns to the game and is eliminated again, she tries to attack Sammy, only to be restrained by DJ and Geoff.

B, the Strong Silent Genius

Teams: Killer Bass, Killer Grips
Placements: 8th (TSI), 5th (TSA)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas B canonically joined the show in Revenge of the Island, here he joins the competition in Island.
  • Ascended Extra: Unlike canon, where he only lasted three episodes, B gets more screentime in this universe.

Beardo, the Human Soundboard

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Mean
Placements: 14th (TSI), 10th (TSA), 18th (TSWT)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Beardo canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here he joins the competition in Island.
  • Ascended Extra: Unlike canon, where he only participated in one season and was voted off first, Beardo gets more screentime in this universe and gets to participate in three seasons.
  • No Sympathy: During the first challenge of World Tour, he refuses to feel sympathy for Scarlett when she complains about her shock collar while in Egypt and uncaringly tells her that she should have thought about the consequences of her actions earlier, given how Scarlett cheated to vote him off and tried to kill everyone in Action.

Beth, the Wannabe

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers
Placements: 18th (TSI), 7th (TSA)

  • Demoted to Extra: She got axed an episode earlier in the Shuffled version of Island while in Action, she was the last pre-merge boot in contrast to canon where she was a finalist.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Beth joins the competition in Island and is part of the Screaming Gophers.

Bridgette, the Surfer Girl

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Mean
Placements: 2nd (TSI), 14th/15th (TSA), 16th (TSWT)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Backstabbers Ahoy! (Episode 5)

  • Ascended Extra: She lasts much longer in this fic's versions of Island and World Tour than the actual show, being a finalist in the former season.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Bridgette joins the competition in Island, is part of the Killer Bass, hooks up with Geoff, is eliminated first with Geoff in Action and cameos in the fifth Revenge of the Island episode.

Dakota, the Fame-Monger

Teams: Killer Bass
Placements: 10th (TSI)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Runaway Model (Episode 6)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Dakota canonically joined the show in Revenge of the Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • Becoming the Mask: Like Geoff in canon, Dakota becomes much meaner as the Aftermath host in a desperate attempt to keep her job; luckily, Sam and Dawn snap some sense into her.
  • I Regret Nothing: While she does apologize to Dawn for showing the video of her and her dad without her permission, Dakota admits this since she wanted to give Dawn a chance to explain her feelings.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Dakota is the second contestant eliminated from her generation and later rejoins the competition.

Dawn, the Moonchild

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Universe
Placements: 13th (TSI), 6th (TSA), 6th/7th (TSWT)

DJ, the Brickhouse with Heart

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Mean, Team Victory
Placements: 9th (TSI), 4th (TSA), 11th (TSWT)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Eat, Puke, and Be Wary (Episode 11)

  • Adaptational Expansion: It's never revealed in canon why DJ is scared of heights. Here, DJ reveals that it's connected to him jumping off the high dive despite him being scared of doing so.
  • Ass Shove: When he was forced by his brothers to jump off the high dive back when he was eight years old, DJ landed on his butt and his swim trunks went so far up his rectum that he was forced to go to the hospital to get them removed. He later remembered this event as the "Wedgie Flop".
  • Camp Straight: He has some feminine hobbies, such as ribbon dancing, like his canon self, but likes girls, and hooks up with Sammy and Dawn.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, DJ joins the competition in Island, joins Team Victory due to the mix-up in World Tour, and cameos in Episode 11 of Revenge of the Island.
  • No Sympathy: When he, Jo, B, and Cameron are picking Scott and Courtney up after their elimination in All Stars, DJ responds to Scott's complaining for sympathy and advice by telling him that if after five seasons, he still hasn't figured out what he's doing wrong, then no advice is ever going to be able to help him.
  • Official Couple: He becomes Sammy's boyfriend in Action, and halfway through World Tour, they decide to date Dawn, too.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: DJ is on the opposite teams than he had been for the first two seasons (the Gophers and the Grips), and he starts off on Team Chris in World Tour.

Ezekiel, the Homeschooled Guy

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Victory
Placements: 21st (TSI), 5th (TSWT)

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: Instead of being kicked off early on again, having nobody on his side and developing into the feral and savage mutant he became in canon, Ezekiel learns from his mistakes, makes friends and ultimately leaves the competition without winning, but unscathed.
  • Ascended Extra: He lasts two extra episodes in Island and lasts until the final five in World Tour.
  • Cyberbullying: Sierra promises him that she will "trash" him in her blog once Island wraps due to his sexist comments. It's not like Ezekiel cares, however, as he doesn't know too much about the Internet.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • He still makes his debut in “Island” and is on the Killer Bass team.
    • While not the first boot in his debut season, he’s still the first boy on the Killer Bass to be eliminated and is eliminated for the same reason he was in canon.
    • He still takes part in “World Tour” and ends up on Team Victory.
    • He still adopts a rapper persona in-between “Action” and “World Tour”.
  • Mythology Gag: As he takes the Drop of Shame, Ezekiel regrets not having tried to stow away in the jumbo jet for the rest of the competition, referencing his canon fate of being transformed into a feral monster, which is given to Staci here, though with some changes. The place where he was eliminated in [Africa] was also the same place where it was revealed to the others that he became fully feral in the canon series.
  • Only Friend: Serves as this to Scott until his backstabbing scheme in World Tour makes Zeke leave him. Notably, while Scott doesn't really care much for others, he was grateful that Ezekiel stuck by him and was going to repay that by taking him to the final two (which he admits to under threat of being attacked by an octopus if he lies). He also gets his hopes up when Ezekiel later brings up the breakup in Jamaica on the blimp in All-Stars when it sounds like Zeke was going to rekindle their friendship, and when told by the homeschooler that he needs to get better as a person or life isn't going to get better for him, he desperately asks how and is left stunned by the response he gets (which boils down to "I'm not sure, you just gotta try").
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Ezekiel joins the competition in Island, is part of the Killer Bass and is the first boy of his team to be voted off.

Geoff, the Funniest Guy Around

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Victory
Placements: 11th (TSI), 14th/15th (TSA), 15th (TSWT)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Backstabbers Ahoy! (Episode 5)

  • Ascended Extra: He manages to qualify for World Tour, something he didn't do in canon, and lasts until the tenth episode.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Geoff joins the competition in Island, is part of the Killer Bass and hooks up with Bridgette. He also qualifies for Action only to get voted off first with Bridgette.

Jo, the Take-No-Prisoners Jock-ette

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips
Placements: 4th (TSI), 1st (TSA)
All-Stars Cameo: Suckers Punched (Episode 7)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Jo canonically joined the show in Revenge of the Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Over the course of season 2, she undergoes this.
  • The Leader: She seems to have become the unofficial leader of the first two generation of contestants by the end of All-Stars, with her acting as the captain of the zeppelin, giving orders to the others and organizing the celebration party after the finale.

Lightning, the Athletic Overachiever

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers, Team Victory, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 5th (TSI), 3rd (TSA), 17th (TSWT), 1st (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Lightning canonically joined the show in Revenge of the Island, here he joins the competition in Island.
  • Character Development: Starts off as a competitive contestant, who constantly loses despite being near to victory after performing some questionable actions. Develops into a heroic contestant with good sportsmanship, who ultimately gets rid of all his negative traits and finally wins the prize after learning from his mistakes.
  • Designated Hero: He gets this in-universe during All-Stars when to the shock of everyone, himself included, he's put on the Heroic Hamsters. Chris explains it's because he's an underdog due to losing more times than any other contestant and underdogs are always heroic, but admits it's really just because he wanted a jock on the hero team and Tyler and Jo were both unavailable. That being said though, Lightning decides to roll with his new hero title and starts acting like it.
  • Graceful Loser: Despite being a Sore Loser early in the fic series, Lightning accepts his loss in the non-canonical ending of All-Stars by congratulating Jasmine for winning, assuring her that she earned her victory.
  • Locked into Strangeness: In the first World Tour Aftermath, Lightning's performance ends with him getting hit by actual lightning; the result was him getting a permanent bolt-shaped streak of white hair.
  • Verbal Tic: Like he does in canon, he occasionally adds a prefix of "sha-" to the word he's going to say. When asked why he does this by Izzy in All-Stars, he admits that he doesn't really know why, it's just a thing he does.

Sam, the Nice-Guy Gamer

Teams: Killer Bass
Placements: 15th (TSI)

Sammy, the Good Twin

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gaffers, Team Universe
Placements: 7th (TSI), 8th (TSA), 8th (TSWT)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Sammy canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Sammy's sexuality was never addressed in canon, though Amy implies at one point that Sammy has unrequited feelings for Topher. Here, Sammy is bisexual.
  • Ascended Extra: In canon, she was really just a secondary character eliminated pre-merge with her biggest traits being how she was bullied by Amy and her friendship with Jasmine. Here, she lasts much longer in every season she competes in, and forms bonds with several other contestants.
  • Official Couple: She enters a relationship with DJ in "Alien Resurr-eggtion". As of "Picnic at Hanging Dork", they've accepted Dawn into their relationship, so she's dating both of them.
  • Shipper on Deck: During one of her confessionals, Sammy bets that DJ and Dawn would make a great couple, unaware that Dawn ships her with DJ.

Scarlett, the Brainiac

Teams: Killer Bass, Screaming Gaffers, Team Universe, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 6th (TSI), 2nd (TSA), 13th (TSWT), 14th (TSAS)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Grand Chef Auto (Episode 9)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Scarlett canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • Ascended Extra: In the original series, she was only a supporting character and the Big Bad for one episode before getting the boot while competeing in only one season Here, she gets to play the role of the Big Bad in the "Action" season and gets to compete in four different seasons.
  • Big Bad: The second season shows her taking up the role and she lives up to it: cheating Beardo and Dawn out of the game by hacking the voting devices, taking control of the animatronic monster, destroying the Aftermath studio to claim the prize money and kidnapping Dakota and Chris (her ending only) to extort the former's father and the producers for more money in exchange for their return.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Becomes sarcastic in World Tour to spitefully annoy Chris. Of course this earns her some electric shocks as Chris has the control of her shock collar.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Just like in canon, she shows her true colours when her hair is loose. However, she also has a few other chances. When she loses her temper, several hairs escape from her bun. After her true nature is revealed, she drops the bun and has a ponytail instead as a symbol that she is restraining herself but is free to act like a villain because everyone knows the truth about her.
  • False Friend: To Bridgette, up until the end of Action where she doesn't lose anything from telling her the truth.
  • Hated by All: Everyone in the cast hates her after the second season, including Chris and Chef. Justified since she not only cheated during the second season, she tried to kill some of them to get the prize money and extort Dakota to get more money out of her father. She becomes so disliked that she is the first person voted out during All-Stars.
  • Shock Collar: She is forced to wear one in all her appearances after the second season. At least, up until "Roswell That Ends Well", when she manages to remove it.
  • Villain Has a Point: As evil and insane as Scarlett is, she does point out some facts that are undeniably true.
    • In Island, she rightly calls Ezekiel out for his sexist comments by pointing out that women aren't inferior to men like he believes.
"Listen. Closely," [Scarlet] hissed, eyes locked on his. "Neither I, nor any other woman in the world is in need of your protection or assistance. Furthermore, and despite cultural stereotypes, there is absolutely no evidence suggesting a significant innate difference between the physical or cognitive abilities of different genders. Understand?"
    • In World Tour, even if she says so to spite Chris, nothing changes the fact that Chris mistook Chef's uniform for one of Japanese origin when it was of Chinese origin and that pandas are native to China, not Japan.
    • When she is eliminated in World Tour, even Chris agrees that Scarlett has a point when she complains that her elimination is unnecessary given Scott's disqualification, but he still proceeds to eliminate her along with Scott.
  • Villains Want Mercy: She pleads with Sammy not to vote her off after their team loses the Jamaica challenge, giving her word that Sammy will not regret it. Sammy, of course, doesn't fall for this, given Scarlett's destructive rampage in Action.

Scott, the Devious Guy

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Victory, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 19th (TSI), 14th (TSWT), 4th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Scott canonically joined the show in Revenge of the Island, here he joins the competition in Island.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Also qualifies as an Adaptational Jerkass. By the time of All-Stars, he lacks any of his canon counterpart’s positive traits such as becoming a somewhat nicer person and playing a little more by the rules, as he takes the role as the Big Bad who’s still hell bent on winning with shifty tactics.
  • Being Evil Sucks: His ruthless, manipulative and abrasive attitude and habit of sabotage causes almost all of the campers to hate him by the end of Island, his second sabotage strategy in World Tour costs him his Only Friend and turns out to be All for Nothing due to getting disqualified from not singing, most of the show's in-universe audience hates him so much by World Tour that the promise of making him answer personal questions truthfully or get pelted with crabapples and thrown into an angry octopus tank nets the Aftermath the (quite large) sum of money needed to save the show almost in its entirety, and it's his scheme to eliminate Gwen that leads to his downfall in All-Stars, as Courtney gets so pissed at him that she becomes dead-set on eliminating him through any means possible and successfully pulls a Taking You with Me in "The Bold and the Booty-ful", breaking his jaw in the process. His one Hope Spot that Zeke still wanted to be friends with him despite everything is dashed in the All-Stars afterparty, with Zeke stating that he was glad he left, and when he's told by Zeke that he has to improve as a person or he'll stay in the rut he's in for the rest of his life, he desperately asks how to do so, and is left stunned when Zeke can't give him anything beyond "you just have to try". While most of the cast either made good relationships with other people, grew into better people themselves, or both, Scott leaves the series empty-handed and with nobody on his side.
  • Big Bad: After getting shown up in his first two seasons, Scott finally gets his chance to play this role straight in All-Stars.
  • Cassandra Gambit: This is his new strategy for All-Stars. By this point in the series, he knows that he has a reputation for being a liar and a cheater, and knows that nobody will trust anything he says. So he realizes he can throw them off by telling them the truth, and they'll just think it's a lie.
  • Composite Character: In All-Stars takes up canon Courtney’s role as the contestant with the Chronic Backstabbing Disorder who gets a taste of how shitty the life of evil truly is and ends up with nobody and nothing for it.
  • Don't Touch It, You Idiot!: During the first part of the Egypt challenge in World Tour he slaps Ezekiel's hand away from the mummified dog and tells him not to touch anything, saying he doesn't want to get cursed again. Ezekiel says that's a good call.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Scott's first interaction as he arrives at Camp Wawanakwa is with Jo, and he makes it as far as the final four in All-Stars.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: He is disqualified in World Tour during the Jamaica challenge for not singing when he was supposed to.
  • Shadow Archetype: In a way, by the end of his run he can be considered this to Ezekiel. Both are farm boys that started out with little to no friends and No Social Skills. But by the end of the series, Ezekiel manages to grow as a person and make new friends whereas Scott continued to be abrasive and underhanded both in and off the competition, which results in him being Hated by All for it to the point where it costs him his Only Friend in Zeke.
  • Starter Villain: During Island, he starts playing dirty upon his arrival in the competition, succeeding in engineering the eliminations of Dakota and Lightning, but Scarlett realizes his true intentions and, with Alejandro's help, he is exposed and quickly voted off after eight episodes.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He has a fear of clowns and is forced to face one during the "Phobia Factor" challenge.

Shawn, the Zombie Conspiracy Nut

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Mean, Team Universe, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 1st (TSI), 13th (TSA), 10th (TSWT), 5th (TSAS)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Finders Creepers (episode 4)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Shawn canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here he joins the competition in Island.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Just like in canon, Shawn makes his way to the finale of his first season and wins.
    • Despite him and Jasmine competing in two different generations here, the two still end up becoming an Official Couple.

Sierra, the Obsessive Uber-Fan

Teams: Killer Bass, Killer Grips, Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Mean
Placements: 17th (TSI), 11th (TSA), 12th (TSWT)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Treasure Island of McLean (Episode 8)

Staci, the Compulsive Liar

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Team Victory
Placements: 22nd (TSI), 9th (TSWT)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: A Mine is a Terrible Thing To Waste (Episode 7)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Staci canonically joined the show in Revenge of the Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: It's hard to not feel bad for her after she leads herself to believe that Tyler loves her and kisses him, only for Tyler to admit to her that he actually loves Ella. And also when Chris blames her for causing the volcano to erupt in the finale, even though it was Chris himself who was the one who instructed the contestants to throw the pineapples into the volcano to begin with.
  • Body Horror: Her mutation in season three, which gives her a tail, claws and dog ears.
  • Composite Character: She shares elements with Ezekiel from the original series, being the first eliminated camper that gets no respect and becomes a feral monster in the third season.
  • Humanoid Abomination: She ends up resembling a werewolf.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: She is this during the 100th episode due to joining forces with Blaineley and Scarlett to mutate Chris to get back at him for how he wronged them in the past, but Staci only did so because Blaineley offered to give her a reference in the entertainment industry, in addition to the fact that Staci didn't intend to involve her former teammates in the scheme, unlike Scarlett.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Staci is the first contestant of her generation to be eliminated, due to her annoying everyone with her lies.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Upon being voted off for the second time in World Tour, she rants at her teammates about them eliminating her and accuses them of seeing her as a big joke and never wanting her around, just like Tyler, ignoring that she lost the tiebreaker challenge in her attempt to attack Ezekiel for Tyler's betrayal.

Sugar, the Pageant Queen

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Universe, Team Victory, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 20th (TSI), 2nd (TSWT), 13th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Sugar canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here she joins the competition in Island.
  • Big Bad: Of World Tour.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Like Justin did in canon, Sugar tries to cheat during the Awake-A-Thon challenge by painting her eyelids to make it look as if she is staying awake. However, she gets caught by Jo.
  • Crocodile Tears: She pretends to be upset when Scarlett and Scott are kicked off the competition in World Tour to gain Sammy's trust by giving her a letter which exposes her alliance with Scott, tricking Sammy into believing that Scarlett had used it to blackmail her into an alliance. Not being aware of Sugar's scheming nature, Sammy falls for it and hugs her to thank her, unaware that Sugar is devilishly grinning while doing so.
  • Hidden Depths: Upon arriving at Camp Wawanakwa, she gives Dakota a dirty look, suggesting that she doesn't like rich kids.
  • The Leader: She leads the Killer Bass during the talent show challenge because of her experience in beauty pageants, not that it leads them to victory, though.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: In both the non-canonical and canonical endings of World Tour:
    • In the non-canonical ending, she throws her own effigy into the volcano, winning the competition and the million dollars, only for Staci to throw her prize into the volcano after Sugar betrays her. She then falls into the volcano and is shot as a Human Cannonball into the Boat of Losers, sinking it and forcing her to spend a year recovering in the Drama Machine like what happened to Alejandro in canon.
    • In the canonical ending, she accidentally throws Ella's effigy into the volcano instead of hers, making Ella the winner instead. While the prize is still lost thanks to Staci, at least Sugar manages to escape alongside her fellow contestants but gets a few bruises on her face.
  • Reverse Psychology: How Alejandro ousts her from the competition in Island. Upon hearing Sugar's terrible singing, Al convinces her to change the routine, but Sugar, believing that Al wants her to "improve" her act so she will lose, refuses to change her act, which results in the Killer Bass losing and her being voted off.
  • Sore Loser: When Ella wins thanks to a technicality, Sugar doesn't accept her defeat and still tries to take the prize by force, which results into the money falling into the volcano and burning.
  • Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: Was a finalist in "World Tour" and became the second elimination in the next season she participated in.
  • Uncertain Doom: In the non-canonical ending where she wins, Sugar is burned by the lava and shot as a Human Cannonball into the Boat of Losers, sinking it, but she never resurfaces after that. Word of God states she would have ended up spending a year in the Drama Machine like Alejandro did in canon.

Topher, the Junior Chris

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips
Placements: 16th (TSI), 9th (TSA)
Revenge of the Island Cameo: Treasure Island of McLean (Episode 8)

    World Tour Newcomers

Ella, the Fairytale Princess

Teams: Team Universe, Team Victory, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 1st (TSWT), 11th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Ella canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here she joins the competition in World Tour.
  • Ascended Extra: She goes from being an early boot in canon with little to no development, to being one of the main focuses of World Tour and returning for All-Stars.
  • Mythology Gag: In the canon timeline, World Tour was the season that inspired her to audition to become a contestant on Total Drama, here, it's the season where she makes her debut.
  • Offscreen Breakup: She and Tyler became an Official Couple at the end of World Tour, but broke up at some point before All-Stars after realizing they were Better as Friends.
  • Temporarily a Villain: She ends up being affected by the Blue Moon and becomes the opposite of herself, and uses her singing to have all the animals on the island attack the others. She returns to herself when the Blue Moon ends, but is voted off.

Tyler, the Jock

Teams: Team Victory
Placements: 4th (TSWT)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Tyler doesn't join the competition until World Tour.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite debuting in different seasons as Lindsay in this timeline, he still ends up hooking up with her.
  • Offscreen Breakup: He and Ella became an Official Couple at the end of World Tour, but broke up at some point before All-Stars after realizing they were Better as Friends. He got together with Lindsay some point afterwards.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Is a member of Team Victory in this timeline, whereas in the original "World Tour" season, he was a member of Team Chris Is Really Really Really Really Hot.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: He fills Owen's canon role as the original contestant making a cameo appearance in "Bigger! Badder! Brutal-er!" who meets Chris at Camp Wawanakwa, only to learn that he isn't competing that year by Chris quoting the trope and gets sent far away with one of Chef's sticky bombs.

    Revenge of the Island

Cameron, the Wide-Eyed Bubble Boy

Teams: Toxic Rats
Placements: 9th (TSROTI)

  • Demoted to Extra: He only competes in one season here, and is eliminated before the merge, instead of being a finalist like in canon.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Cameron joins the competition in Revenge of the Island.
  • The Leader: He briefly takes the position of Team Captain for the second part of the challenge in "Ice Ice Baby".
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: He was a member of the Mutant Maggots in the canon continuity, here, he's a member of the Toxic Rats.

Cody, the Flirty Geek

Teams: Toxic Rats
Placements: 13th (TSROTI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Cody doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • Demoted to Extra: He only competes in one season here, and is the first one eliminated overall.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Even though he gets eliminated first, Cody gets to join a band with Harold, Trent and Justin in the non-canonical ending where Harold wins due to knowing how to play the keyboard.

Courtney, the Control Freak

Teams: Toxic Rats, Villainous Vultures, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 4th (TSROTI), 3rd (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Courtney doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Canon Courtney started out as a competitive perfectionist who became progressively worse after the first season. She ended up leaving the show with no money or friends. Here, she is insufferable and villainous in her debut season, but by the time she returns in All-Stars, she has realized her mistakes and gets to apologize to Gwen for real, something her canon self never did.
  • Berserk Button: Her teammates saying nonsensical things can make her react aggressively, like when Leonard tries to convince her that the team has his magic with them, leading Gwen and Cameron to stop Courtney from attacking Leonard.
  • Enemy Mine: During the All-Stars finale, she and Harold make a truce to save Jasmine and Lightning from Fang and to fend off Alejandro and Sugar from interfering when Chris changes the rules so any of the contestants can win the prize if they pull the sword.
  • Handicapped Badass: Spends her time as Lightning's helper in the All-Stars finale with her arm in a cast as a result of spraining it during her fight with Scott in the previous episode, but is still able to hold her own against- and defeat- Alejandro and Sugar on separate occasions.
  • Hypocrite: In her debut season, she spends the early pre-merge challenges complaining about her team's inability to win instead of lending a helping hand, which leads to Gwen making Courtney realize during the third challenge that she had shown hypocrisy earlier.
  • In Spite of a Nail:
    • Just like in canon, Courtney at least makes it to the final four during one of the seasons in which she participates.
    • Courtney is still involved in the All-Stars team swap, except instead of being switched over from the Heroic Hamsters to the Villainous Vultures as in canon, here it's the other way around.
  • Irony: Her determination to eliminate Scott by any means necessary in All-Stars after he gets Gwen eliminated can be seen as this since Trent did the same thing to her in the previous season for the exact same thing.
  • The Leader: She appoints herself leader of the Toxic Rats due to seeing herself as the best choice for the job, as Cameron lacks the will despite his brains, Gwen and Noah complain about everything, Cody just flirts with every girl, Leonard apparently believes that he is magical and Izzy is crazy.
  • Taking You with Me: After Scott manipulates the other campers into getting Gwen eliminated in All-Stars, Courtney makes it her personal mission to take him down, and though it costs her a spot in the finals due to spraining her arm in the process, she manages to succeed in "The Bold and the Booty-ful".

Gwen, the Loner

Teams: Toxic Rats, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 7th/8th (TSROTI), 6th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Gwen doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • History Repeats: In both of her seasons, her elimination leads to someone close to her dedicating themselves to getting the person responsible eliminated in retaliation by any means necessary. In Revenge, it was Trent to Courtney, while in All-Stars, it's ironically Courtney towards Scott.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: She implies in All-Stars that she is still dating and keeping in touch with Trent despite them not living near each other.

Harold, the Dweeb

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Toxic Rats, Heroic Hamsters
Placements: 2nd (TSROTI), 12th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Harold doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • Enemy Mine: During the All-Stars finale, he and Courtney make a truce to save Jasmine and Lightning from Fang and to fend off Alejandro and Sugar from interfering when Chris changes the rules so any of the contestants can win the prize if they pull the sword.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In All-Stars, he volunteers to be flushed instead of Jasmine to spare her from elimination so he can make up with her due to indirectly causing her elimination in Revenge of the Island.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He tries to make Noah choose him to be voted off in the final three so Jasmine, his crush, can make it to the finale with Noah by professing his love to her and his willingness to lose for costing her the victory that day. By doing so, Noah concludes that Harold doesn't pose a physical threat unlike Jasmine and votes her off, which gets Jasmine angry at Harold.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Following his video call with his father, Harold admits that he feels like his father has never really respected any of his accomplishments, so he wants to win Revenge of the Island to finally make him proud.

Izzy, the Wild Child

Teams: Toxic Rats, Mutant Maggots, Heroic Hamsters, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 7th/8th (TSROTI), 7th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Izzy doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: Her mutation in Revenge of the Island allows her to grow and retract extra appendages at will.
  • Senseless Sacrifice: Non-lethal example in All-Stars. In the 100th episode, Izzy volunteers to be eliminated due to deducing that most of the contestants will likely vote her off for refusing to save them from Blaineley, Scarlett and Staci. However, when Jasmine, Shawn and Lightning reveal that they were planning to vote Scott off, she tries to go back on her decision, but Chris doesn't let her.
  • Spanner in the Works: Ends up being this when she finally shows up to thwart Scarlett's scheme in the 100th episode after she's captured the rest of the cast and double-crossed Blaineley and Staci. Scarlett even lampshades this, commenting that she thought Izzy had already been eliminated by now.

Jasmine, the Outback Survivalist

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Heroic Hamsters, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 3rd (TSROTI), 2nd (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Jasmine canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here she joins the competition in Revenge of the Island.
  • Break the Haughty: "Saving Private Leachball" has her go through this as her distrust of Lightning causes her to cost the Hamsters the challenge and have the rest of the team vote her out, only being saved by Harold, whom she'd been giving the cold shoulder this entire time as a result of what happened the previous season, offering himself for elimination in her place. Following this, as a result of her unheroic actions displayed in the episode, Chris then has her moved over to the Villainous Vultures instead.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite her and Shawn competing in two different generations here, the two still end up becoming an Official Couple.

Justin, the Eye Candy

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 11th (TSROTI), 8th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Justin doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Whereas he gets along with Trent - and is implied to later settle his differences with Harold - in canon, here Justin dislikes both of them for disturbing his "beauty sleep". He does make up with them in the non-canonical ending where Harold wins, however.
  • Adaptational Skimpiness: He sleeps bare-chested, whereas he was shown sleeping in blue pajamas in canon.
  • Adaptational Villainy: In canon Action, Justin was teased to be the Big Bad, but it was quickly dropped in the second half as he didn't have much skills in villainy. Here, he proves to be much more competent as an antagonist, even if he never gets to be the Big Bad of a season.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite his cunning nature, he sometimes helps his teammates even if it doesn't benefit him:
    • In the Revenge of the Island premiere, he grabs Lindsay as she slips from the totem, earning him her gratitude.
    • In the Revenge of the Island finale, he assists Zoey in rescuing Lindsay from a mutant squid by using his looks to convince a mutant beaver to attack the mutant squid.
    • Even he finds Jasmine not trying to console Harold after he loses to Noah in the finale to be somewhat cold.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Only in the non-canonical ending where Harold wins, as he apologizes to Harold for "giving him grief" the whole season and offers to join the band Harold wants to start with Trent and Cody by handing Harold a business card, which he happily accepts.
  • It's All About Me: During the Revenge of the Island finale, instead of cheering for Harold like Lindsay does, Justin orders him to try to not embarass them, his former teammates. While he seems to speak on behalf of the Mutant Maggots, given how vain he is, it's likely that he just wants Harold to win so it would make him the former member of a team of winners.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Pointed out to Courtney that she shouldn't blame Gwen for hating her at the beginning of All-Stars, given how she engineered Gwen's elimination last season.
  • Jerkass to One: He takes an instant dislike to Harold during their debut season's second challenge, taunting him about his embarrassing middle name and later trying to engineer his elimination simply due to Harold being "weird and kind of a flake", which fails when Chris has Harold swap teams.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: He seems to have this kind of mentality during All-Stars when trying to vote Alejandro off; he does so in order to finally shine as a villain by taking down his "master", but his scheme only succeeds thanks to Scott making a fake Life Idol that Alejandro mistook for a real one, which means that his plan would have failed if Al's idol had been real. That said, Justin seems to be more horrified at being upstaged by someone "as hideous" as Scott.
  • Properly Paranoid: In All-Stars, he joins everyone in voting Scarlett off first, as he wants to sleep without worrying if Scarlett is plotting their dooms.
  • Surpassed the Teacher: He sees Alejandro's offer for an alliance in All-Stars as an opportunity to learn tips from the "kind of a pioneer in the whole 'hot guy seduces people to get ahead in the game' thing", intending to backstab Al once he least expects it. He ultimately makes good on his strategy, going behind Alejandro's back and voting him off with the help of Jasmine, Noah and Scott when Alejandro attempted to vote off either of the last two.
  • We Used to Be Friends: He seduces Lindsay to his side and uses her as a pawn in his unsuccessful scheme to vote Harold off. However, after being deceived by one of Noah's notes that Lindsay wants to take over the team, Justin betrays her and tries to eliminate her, leading Lindsay to diss him similar to the way she did to Heather in canon Island.

Leonard, the LARPer

Teams: Toxic Rats
Placements: 12th (TSROTI)

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Whereas Leonard canonically joined the show in Pahkitew Island, here he joins the competition in Revenge of the Island.
  • Hidden Depths: Unlike canon Leonard, here he admits to knowing that he isn't really a wizard, but the reason he acts like one is because he has never been good at anything that isn't LARP, and assumed that he would be among the first ones booted even if he was able to join the competition, leading him to stay in-character as a goofy wizard kid in hopes to at least making his appearance memorable.
  • In Spite of a Nail: He's still eliminated early for costing his team a challenge.

Lindsay, the Airhead

Teams: Mutant Maggots
Placements: 10th (TSROTI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Lindsay doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.

Noah, the High IQ

Teams: Toxic Rats, Villainous Vultures
Placements: 1st (TSROTI), 9th (TSAS)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Noah doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: He canonically wins Revenge of the Island. Granted, the finale gave us a good few reasons to give him sympathy, such as him wanting to go to college without resorting to a dead-end job of twenty years due to being the youngest of nine siblings.
  • Big Bad: He serves as ROTI's main threat, although he isn't as evil as the villains before him.
  • The Chessmaster: He is much more cunning and strategic than in canon, having seen all three previous seasons before joining the show in its fourth season and knowing that he must not give his teammates a reason to hate him, at least until the merge.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: By the time of the sixth challenge in All-Stars, Noah feels that his team doesn't really appreciate him due to Jasmine leaving him Locked Out of the Loop last elimination, as he was forced by Alejandro to try to get on his good side to avoid being voted off, only for Al himself to be eliminated thanks to Justin and Scott, with him believing that the pair see him as a "footnote".
  • Token Good Teammate: Due to his actions in the previous season, Noah is placed in the Villainous Vultures in All-Stars, filling Gwen's role as the only non-villainous Villainous Vulture from canon All-Stars. Though to be fair, he wasn't totally good, but neither was he outright evil enough to deserve a spot in the Vultures.

Trent, the Musician

Teams: Mutant Maggots, Toxic Rats
Placements: 5th (TSROTI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Trent doesn't join the competition until Revenge of the Island.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Despite his sour elimination, Trent makes up with his friends during the season finale, starts a relationship with Gwen and gets to join a band with Harold, Cody and Justin in the non-canonical ending where Harold wins due to knowing how to play the guitar.
  • Jerkass Ball: During the air race challenge, Trent becomes so obsessed with avenging Gwen's elimination that he refuses to help Courtney when she is attacked by a mutant insect during the go-karts challenge and gets angry at Jasmine and Harold for accidentally getting in his way when he tried to stop Courtney from winning the air race challenge, even accusing Harold of being a traitor to his proposed alliance when everyone votes him off after the challenge.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: Implied by Gwen in All-Stars. When asked about Trent's refusal to return for the fifth season, Gwen states that they are still together and making their relationship work out despite not living near each other.
  • Revenge Before Reason: Following Gwen's elimination at Courtney's hands, Trent obsesses so much about voting off Courtney that he ends up disturbing his fellow contestants, leading them to vote him off after the air race challenge, much to his anger. He does admit his mistakes and apologizes during the season finale, however.

Zoey, the Indie Chick

Teams: Mutant Maggots
Placements: 6th (TSROTI)

  • Demoted to Extra: Although she has a storyline, it is dropped quickly and she is mostly only used to bulk other's arcs and eventually is played as a pawn in elimination, showing none of her canon skill set.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Zoey joins the competition in Revenge of the Island and was placed on the Mutant Maggots.

    Pahkitew Island

Anne Maria, the Jersey Girl

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 12th (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Revenge of the Island, Anne Maria doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island.
  • Graceful Loser: Despite being eliminated, she takes her loss pretty well.

Brick, the Cadet

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 4th/5th (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Revenge of the Island, Brick doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Brick's sexuality was never addressed in canon, but here, he is shown to be gay and hooks up with Duncan.

Dave, the 'Nice' Guy

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 10th (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Jerkass: He was capable of being nice in canon, but not so here, where he does things such as insult Mike and his DID and just be more of an all-around negative presence compared to canon.
  • The Bully: As part of his Adaptational Jerkass traits, he loathes Mike for having DID and openly unleashes negative comments about his alters.
  • Demoted to Extra: Whereas he lasted nine episodes in canon, here Dave is voted off in the fifth episode.
  • Downer Ending: As a result of his experiences, Dave is left without any friends, he's now an emotional wreck, and Did Not Get the Girl (Sky).
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Dave joins the competition in Pahkitew Island.

Duncan, the Delinquent

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 2nd (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Duncan doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: In canon, Duncan was shown as only interested in heterosexual relationships, hooking up with Courtney and Gwen in addition to show some attraction to Heather at first. Here, he's bisexual and hooks up with Brick.
  • The Bully: Unlike his canon self, Duncan doesn't bully anyone too harshly, except Max. He doesn't care at all when Max leaves them during the challenge to explore the island, and later calls him "dork", just like he does to Harold in canon when Max is voted off. In the opening sequence, he even gives Max an atomic wedgie and laughs at him after doing so, implying that he would have easily picked on Max had he stayed.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Duncan makes his way to the finale of a season he competes in and wins.
  • Taking You with Me: As he carries Mal on his shoulders while crossing the mud river during the finale challenge, he threatens to drag Mal into the mud if Mal allows him to suffocate.

Eva, the Iron Woman

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 1st (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Eva doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: While Eva's sexuality was never explicitly adressed in canon, she was seen to be attracted to Justin like all girls at Camp Wawanakwa. Here, Eva is a lesbian and hooks up with Sky.
  • Ascended Extra: She was an early boot in the one season she competed in. Here, she's the official winner of Pahkitew Island.

Heather, the Queen Bee

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 3rd (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Heather doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island.
  • Big Bad: of Pahkitew Island.
  • No Sympathy: In the season premiere, when Owen expresses his fear of flying, instead of trying to calm him, she demands Owen take his "little freak-out somewhere else" as it bugs her.
  • Pet the Dog: After Owen brings food to the team, Heather compliments him for the berries and roasted fish he brought, assuring him that he got a "great haul".
  • Skewed Priorities: Subverted. Upon finding out alongside Mal that Pahkitew Island has one escape pod, she states that if they can't stop the island from being destroyed, she would prioritize her life first over the prize.
I'd hate to give up the competition, but if we can't figure this out soon, at least we'll survive. My life is worth so much more than a million dollars.

Katie, the Skinny BFFFL

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 13th (TSPI)

Leshawna, the Sista with 'Tude

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 7th (TSPI)

Max, the Super Villain

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 14th (TSPI)

  • Demoted to Extra: Instead of lasting ten episodes like in canon, Max is the first one eliminated in his debut season.
  • Hypocritical Humor: He calls out his team for their incompetence when their shelter is destroyed by a stampede and asks them if they are good for nothing, even though he didn't help them at all during the challenge, leading his teammates to get angry at him and voting him off.
  • Revenge: He swears during his elimination that Chris McLean will pay for blasting him off Pahkitew Island with the Cannon of Shame. Come the season finale and Max makes good on his promise in the three possible endings:
    • In the ending where Duncan and Eva tie and agree to split the million dollars in half, Max kicks Chris in the shin, allowing the rest of the contestants to throw Chris into the Cannon of Shame and blast him off Pahkitew Island.
    • In both endings where either Duncan or Eva wins, Max shoves Chris out of his helicopter, leaving him stranded on Pahkitew Island and at the mercy of the Scuba Bear.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Max joins the competition in Pahkitew Island.

Mike, the Introspective

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 6th (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Karma: His alternate personality Mal gets punished lightly compared to canon. Instead of being wiped out forever from Mike's mind, all that Mal gets is just being locked back into his psyche by Mike, with Mike intending to keep going to therapy to prevent Mal from messing with his life again.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Revenge of the Island, Mike doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island. The same applies to Mal, who makes his debut here rather than in All-Stars.
  • The Corrupter: In the endings where either Duncan or Eva wins, as they try to hinder Duncan and Eva to prevent them from winning the million, Mal tries to turn Sky against Eva by demanding that she stop being so ''meek'' and to hurt Eva just like she hurt her. Fortunately, Sky refuses and chooses to hinder Mal instead.
  • Enemy Mine: While his care for Mike is somewhat ambiguous, Mal affirms to Chris that he hates him for how he has badly treated Mike throughout the competition.
  • Shock Collar: Chef forces Mal to wear one during the season finale to prevent him from sabotaging the competition anymore.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Whereas Mal, Manitoba Smith, Vito, Svetlana and Chester were technically "killed" in canon All-Stars due to vanishing from Mike's mind for good, here they never disappear, but Mike vows to never let Mal come out of his mind again by getting some therapy to deal with his alternate personalities better.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Mike ranks 6th in a season he competes in.

Owen, the Positive Guy

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon), Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 8th (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Rather than canonically debuting in Island, Owen doesn't join the competition until Pahkitew Island.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Canon Owen showed some signs of being Ambiguously Bi, hooking up with Izzy at one point but feeling attracted to Justin's good looks. Here, Owen admits to being pansexual.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite debuting in the final season and not even meeting Alejandro in this timeline, he still gets to call a major antagonist "Al".
  • Locked Out of the Loop: During the season finale, Owen reacts with surprise when Mike transforms into Mal, as he was voted off before Mal revealed himself to everyone, leading Duncan to explain to him what's up with Mike.

Rodney, the Country Boy

Teams: Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 9th (TSPI)

Sadie, the Fat BFFFL

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears)
Placements: 11th (TSPI)

Sky, the Athlete

Teams: Waneyihtam Maskwak (Confused Bears), Pimâpotew Kinosewak (Floating Salmon)
Placements: 4th/5th (TSPI)

  • Adaptational Nice Girl: Her canon self never revealed her boyfriend's existence until the season finale and made some questionable decisions to get further into the game such as manipulating or mistreating Dave, while here Sky reveals Keith's existence much earlier to avoid any problems like in canon. Sky also doesn't manipulate or mistreat Dave, who in turn is far nastier here.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: In canon, Sky was shown as only interested in heterosexual relationships, having a boyfriend named Keith and having feelings for Dave. Here, Sky is bisexual and hooks up with Eva.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: In the ending where Duncan and Eva tie and decide to split the money, Sky stands up to Chris during the season finale due to him causing her to turn against Eva with the reveal that Eva engineered Dave's elimination to get together with Sky.
You know what? No. Just because I'm mad at Eva right now doesn't mean I wanna hurt her like this. Chef's right, you're going too far. Heck, you've been going too far all season, and I for one am sick and tired of being messed with and hurt. I refuse to take part in this.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Just like in canon, Sky still participates in some way in the season finale of Pahkitew Island.
