Monica Beverly Hillz (12th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8monica.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 5 (12th)

"Drag is what I do, Monica's who I am, baby."

  • Call-Back: Her Fame Games look for the 'Miss Fill-In-The-Blank' runway is as Miss Sunlight-On-The-Skin, an admitted callback to her role in Season 5 in the "Draggle Rock" challenge.
  • Nervous Wreck: The judges clock her somewhat timid demeanor during the girl group challenge and the runways. Monica is so intimidated being back after so long that she can't even muster the courage to defend herself. It results in Monica being voted out.
  • Scout-Out: Her entrance look is a cutesy Girl Scout ensemble, with extra pastel colors. Altogether the look was a stealth Shout-Out to the camp classic Troop Beverly Hills, as her name is 'Beverly Hills' and she was dressed as a Girl Scout.
  • Shrinking Violet: Unfortunately for Monica, some things never change. Her struggle with confidence in season 5 starts to manifest itself again during the girl group challenge, and Monica was never the biggest personality to begin with. By this point in the franchise, you know what happens to queens who lose their confidence — sure enough, Monica's put in the bottom and sent home.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Was eliminated in part due to her lack of confidence on stage, but coming back for the Talent Show Monica performs a strong number that the judges applaud for being a step up and showing Monica is clearly capable of carrying herself.

Naysha Lopez (11th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8naysha.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 8 (9th)

"It must be a crime to serve this much beauty."

  • Chewing the Scenery: Attempts this when playing the role of a drag scientist, but it's pointed out she's giving the role too much finesse without focusing on landing her lines. This ends up landing her in the bottom two and leading to her elimination.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: When Monica is up for elimination Naysha swears that since the two have known each other for decades she couldn't vote for her to go home ... cue to the lipsticks and Naysha, indeed, picks Monica's name to be eliminated.
  • Signature Style: Naysha is a body queen who loves herself a stylized bodysuit. While not all of her looks are bodysuits, a good number of her looks (on the show and in the Fame Game) are.
  • Sore Loser: After the Talent Show while everyone seems to be in a pretty good mood about events, Naysha decided she would be the one to tell Jaymes that 'this isn't a read' but that she didn't think Jaymes deserved to win for her comedic burlesque number.
  • Toros y Flamenco: For her Talent Show performance, Naysha stomps the stage in a routine inspired by a traditional flamenco-style dance number.

Mrs. Kasha Davis (10th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8mrskasha.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 7 (11th)

"My name is Mrs. Kasha Davis and I'm an alcoholic. [beat] Ooops! Wrong meeting!"

  • An Aesop: For her Talent Show number she performs an uncharacteristically harsh and pointed number calling out people who think Drag Queens are out to harm children.
  • Don't Explain the Joke: For her "Legendairy" look she goes as "Sour Cream", basically an all-white gown while walking the runway with a sour look on her face. None of the judges understood her concept and even after she explained it, she was informed the joke just didn't land.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: Her look for the "Supermarket Supermodel Eleganza" was likened to an exploded pinata in the worst possible way. That, coupled with a poor dairy look that didn't read, led to her elimination.
  • Nice Girl: Prides herself on being a congenial queen. The feeling seems mutual, judging by how crestfallen everyone looks when Kasha is eliminated (especially a teary-eyed Heidi).
Mrs. Kasha Davis (exit line): There's always time for kindness.
  • Recovered Addict: Kasha departed her original season with the line "There's always time for a cocktail!" This time, when she first walks into the werk room, her entrance line introduces her as an alcoholic. Out of drag, her entrance confessional mentions that she's switched to mocktails and is actually seven years sober.
Mrs. Kasha Davis: My name is Mrs. Kasha Davis and I'm an alcoholic. [beat, looks around] Ooops! Wrong meeting! [laughs]
  • Sudden Humility: Not that she isn't always a kind and humble queen, but after receiving harsh critiques for the 'Supermarket Ball' she suddenly gives a speech about how thankful she is to be there to receive them even if they are negative. The other rest of the queens just look at each other a bit confused at the declaration. Kandy Muse even openly admits during the voting that Kasha made the decision for her.

Darienne Lake (9th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8darienne.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 6 (4th)

"The weight... is over."

  • Formerly Fat: Has lost around 200 pounds since Season 6, Heidi even says Darienne is looking more like a "Pond" than a "Lake" nowadays.
  • Friends with Benefits: Darienne expressed that she has never been in a serious romantic relationship, and has no desire to ever be in one, either. She's not against being in one if it happens completely of its own accord, but she affirms its not something she needs to feel complete.
  • I Can't Dance: During the group number Darienne is clearly a full step behind everyone else on her team. This coupled with a poor showing in the mini-challenge led to her being in the bottom two.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: While Darienne can serve some great looks, there have been a number of clear misses as well which have landed her in the bottom two and up for elimination:
    • During first episode mini-challenge her "Fashion Then" looked more like a Renaissance Fair costume than something from the actual Renaissance period, however it was deemed serviceable. Her "Fashion Now" look, however, based on Billie Eilish was not enjoyed by the judges, as it was just casual green and black clothes.
    • For the Supermarket Ball none of her looks really landed. Her Fruity look was probably her most successful, although her Dairy look didn't read on stage and her Eleganza look was too colorful and busy missing the fashion element.
  • Kudzu Plot: Ends up biting her in the ass when for the trailer challenge she pitches a concept of Lost but with the shipwrecked survivors meeting dead celebrities who don't want to be found. Alexis tries to argue that it's just a lot of story to convey in a trailer format, and ultimately the judges say it wasn't bad, but wasn't that funny either.
  • Punny Name: For her Fame Games contribution for the 'Miss Fill-In-The-Blank' Runway she goes as 'Miss Shapen', wearing a ridiculously misshapened overcoat dress that had all the wrong proportions.
  • Refuge in Audacity: As a bold choice, for her Fame Games contribution for the 'Snow Bunny' Runway Darienne decides to wear a look modeled after club/party-use of cocaine, complete with a mirror tray as a fascinator and a dress adorned with razor blades. note
  • Self-Deprecation: Her Talent Show performance was a stand-up comedy routine in which she had no problem making herself the butt of the jokes, but did so in a way that showed she was clearly in on the joke.

Heidi N Closet (8th / quit)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8heidi.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 12 (6th)

"Hey y'all! What's gap-penin'?"

  • Always Second Best: By Untucked of episode 3 Heidi expressed frustration that Jessica and Jimbo are getting praise in the "Supermarket Ball" when she feels her looks overall were a lot stronger (especially her latex milkman dairy costume, compared to Jessica's cereal rings and Jimbo's bubbles). She even expresses a desire to say Screw This, I'm Outta Here and leave the competition over it.
  • Blackbeard: Makes the odd choice to play Blackbeard the Pirate for Snatch Game of Love, although mostly playing it as a flamboyant Friendly Pirate. As she left the competition prior to judging for the episode, it's never revealed how she was received by the judges.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Episode 5's Werk Room blow-up, in which Kahanna expresses hurt that Heidi clowned on her Snatch Game performance, plus Kandy accosting her over off-camera gossip, kills any spirit Heidi has about competing, and she just tearfully walks off the set. Even Kandy, who was just arguing with her, looks horrified at what's transpired.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: As a result of leaving the competition by forfeit, Heidi is also taken out of the running for the online "Fame Game" for eliminated queens and does not return for the Fame Game talent show.
  • Not Even Bothering with the Accent: Puts on no accent or inflection when playing Blackbeard for Snatch Game of Love, its just Heidi playing at being a gay pirate.
  • Parting-Words Regret: In episode 3, she tells Ru a story about how, in late 2020, she called her grandmother and told her she wouldn't be home for Thanksgiving, but would be home for Christmas. Heidi admits that she's now overcome with regret about not going, because her grandmother passed away two days after that call.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Was talking about leaving as early as Episode 3, however after being confronted with attacks to her character by Kahanna and Kandy, Heidi realizes she's just not having fun anymore and storms off-set, eliminating herself.
  • Self-Deprecation: In her entrance confessional, she laughs off her sometimes messy run on season 12 as a "struggle bus." To drive the point home, we immediately get the infamous clip of her wig falling off during her very first runway.
  • Un-person: Come the final two episodes, Heidi was at least shown in the "Previously On" at the start of the episode but was completely ignored thereafter. With all eliminated queens back to participate in the Talent Show and then stay for the finale there was not a single acknowledgement towards Heidi or her exit whatsoever.
  • Unwanted Assistance: When Kahanna is struggling during Snatch Game of Love Heidi tries to play off of her to give her something to do, but Kahanna said it wasn't helpful and felt more like Heidi was trying to Kick Them While They Are Down.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: While playing Blackbeard for Snatch Game of Love Heidi's Seadog Peg Leg comes undone. She takes it in stride, however, as she does a little flourish and admits "the jig is up!" before continuing.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When Kandy Muse starts needling her in the werkroom in front of everyone in spite of the fact the two are supposed to be in an alliance, Heidi calls her out that she isn't being very nice as its clear Kandy is trying to put a target on her back.

Jaymes Mansfield (7th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8jaymes.jpeg
Original Appearance: Season 9 (14th)

"I'm ready to star in The Bitch Who Stole All-Stars! Yes!"

  • Boxing Battler: For her 'Miss Fill-In-The-Blank' Fame Games contribution Jaymes goes as 'Miss Queen of the Ring', as an ode to the sheer flamboyance and camp of 80's and 90's era professional wrestling.
  • Camp: Jaymes has upped her game since being sent home first on season 9, and her campy aesthetic has only gotten campier. Encapsulated during the 'Joan Crawford Rusical' where Jaymes was thrilled to get 'Mommy Dearest' Joan, which was the most camp and comedic of the roles (sadly, while she kills for the comedy her dancing and fashion end up putting her in the bottom).
  • Covert Pervert: In episode 4, they bring back season 14's mini-challenge where they have to pop balloons by grinding on the Pit Crew. That's fine and dandy for all the contestants, but lil' sweetie pie Jaymes goes a step further, and not-too-subtly asks one of them to choke her!
  • Boob-Based Gag: Proudly shows off 'the girls' a comedy-based burlesque number for the Talent Show, netting her a win and x2 points for the Fame Game.
  • Formerly Fat: Jaymes has slimmed down a bit since she was last on Drag Race, although this works against her in the 'RuVeal Youself' Runway where the fit of her swimsuit was not as flattering as it could have been, possibly costing her the win.
  • I Can't Dance:
    • In the first episode's girl group challenge Jaymes is a half-step off from her team ... but she manages to serve face and comedy to mask it, making it still enjoyable to watch.
    • Comes back to eliminate her in the Rusical challenge. Although while the judges quip that Jaymes has "more left feet than an abandoned mannequin factory" she wasn't actually bad ... it's just a matter of separating the A's from the A+'s on the stage.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: Was called out for her looks a few times for not having the right fit. Come her look for 'Night of 1,000 Grace Jones' she was told while she picked a good look with the cascading waterfall of fox tails, the fit and proportions was just not up to par with her competitors.
  • Shout-Out: Her drag name is a reference to iconic 1950s actress Jayne Mansfield.
    • The puppet in her Supermarket Supermodel look is named Cloris Bleachman, after actress Cloris Leachman.
  • Stop Being Stereotypical: While Jaymes kills it as Jennifer Coolidge in Snatch Game of Love, Michelle does say that if she never saw another Drag Queen do Miss Coolidge again, it would still be too soon.

Kahanna Montrese (6th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8kahanna.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 11 (14th)

Your ringleader has arrived. Prepare to send in the clowns. (looks to her left) Oh, they're already here!"

  • Achilles' Heel: While Kahanna is a gorgeous queen who knows how to move her body, she just isn't someone who excels at acting or comedy. Come Episode 7 and finding out the challenge is yet another acting/improv challenge she just starts to mentally check out, expecting herself to fail and almost leaves the competition over it.
  • Beginner's Luck: Kahanna seems to have inherited the All Stars curse of queens like Roxxxy Andrews and India Ferrah before her — gets a big win in the first episode only to spend several times in the bottom before being put out of her misery.
  • Brainless Beauty: Played for Laughs, but as Kahanna is so beautiful she is teased when she sometimes shows she's not the sharpest tool in the drawer. Has become a Running Gag when she goes to try and count the elimination lipsticks she can't figure out how to open the box, to which someone will quip "thank god she's pretty!"
    • Follow the Leader: invoked For the rest of the season almost every episode will feature a queen trying to open the lipstick box only to struggle with the latch. They all have to begrudgingly admit that for as much as they teased Kahanna it was a little trickier than they thought.
  • Flat Character:
    • Plays her Drag Mother, Season 5's and All-Stars 2 alum Coco Montrese for Snatch Game of Love, but isn't able to crest past just playing a flat and grouchy caricature of the pageant winner.
    • For the Rusical she quite obviously gets 'MGM Queen' young ingenue Joan Crawford, although she ends up in the bottom as while she was indeed gorgeous and nailed her steps, her face was dead on stage as she forgot to emote.
    • Zig-zagged in the True Crime improv challenge; while she starts off shaky in the role of the bitter and jealous pageant queen, she does eventually find her stride partway through and is commended by Michelle for a breakthrough. That being said, judging is still splitting hairs so a stumbling start is enough to land Kahanna in the bottom.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: After going home early in her season, Kahanna comes back and wins the first challenge of All-Stars! All of the queens make sure to congratulate her on her first series win ever!
  • Nonindicative Name: For the 'Miss Fill-In-That-Blank' Runway, Kahanna goes as Miss Tired-Ass Showgirl in a gorgeous showgirl-inspired gown. However, while the judges agree it's a beautiful look, they deride the title since there was nothing "tired-ass" about it.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: For her Talent Show act, Kahanna does a modern cheerleader routine, complete with a backflip in full drag. She goes on to reveal that she was an out and proud gay boy on the cheerleading team, which was a high point for her in school.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Almost. Come the True Crime improv acting challenge Kahanna feels the pressure from being made to continuously work so far out of her comfort zone, and realizing she just isn't having fun anymore starts packing up her things to step out. It takes Mama Ru herself to make a special appearance in the werk room to convince her to not crack and see the competition through.
  • Stripperific: Kahanna has had a lot of work done since her season, and loves to show off her curvy body every chance she gets. Hitting a peak during the 'RuVeal Yourself' Runway when she struts the stage in a chainmail bikini before the "reveal" has her popping her top off and keeping her back to the camera, then losing her thong bottoms to expose a crotch and buttcrack pastie.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Delivered to Heidi when during Snatch Game of Love playing Coco Montrese Heidi would try and interact with her when she stumbled, but to Kahanna it felt more like heckling when she was already failing.

Lala Ri (5th, Queen of the Fame Games)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8lala.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 13 (10th)

"I'm back to bag these bitches!"

  • Always Second Best: By Episode 7 cracks are starting to form in Lala's demeanor about constantly missing out on challenge wins. After Kandy wins the Rusical challenge (and Lala gets harsh critiques regarding her Grace Jones runway) Lala admits outright in confessionals that she's starting to get angry about the whole thing. The next episode Lala finally has a breakthrough and scores her first win.
  • Bitch Slap: Her role in the Rusical as 'Mildred Pierce' Joan Crawford was boiled down to this. Basically it was Season 10's Asia O'Hara 'Moonstruck' Cher role on steroids.note
  • Boring Yet Practical: Gets critiqued for her look for 'Night of 1,000 Grace Jones'. While the look was 'good' by the judges admission, they just expected so much more from Lala. Especially since out of all the queens, she was the only one who could physically embody Grace's dark-skinned excellence.
  • Hard Work Hardly Works: For the Winner's Look challenge, Lala has to redesign her gown a total of three times! Sadly, her final look still had some glaring flaws and led to her elimination.
  • My Greatest Second Chance:
    • While Lala did not win the 'Supermarket Ball', she does get kudos for her outfit being leagues better when what she showed in Season 13.
    • Come episode 7, Lala finally wins her first challenge ever for playing the sassy, murderous Drag Race security guard in the improv challenge.
  • Never Live It Down: invoked To no one's surprise, Lala Ri's infamous gift bag dress disaster is mentioned quite frequently. She finally redeems herself come the 'Supermarket Ball' in delivering a clean final outfit that clearly represents Lala's actual style.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: After her win Lala decides to save Alexis as opposed to Kahanna in spite of being closer to the latter as she was going off track record. The very next week with Alexis in the top, she turns around and eliminates Lala in return. Lala even says she wishes she sent Alexis home when she had the chance in hindsight.
  • Rummage Sale Reject: For the 'Miss Fill-In-That-Blank' Runway she goes as Miss Bootlegger, decked out in a gold tracksuit and hocking bootleg hair tracks, fake jewelry, and illegal DVDs out of her purse. Michelle Visage admits she's in love with the look since it speaks to her personal aesthetic.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: For the Talent Show Lala gives the judges the 'Lala Ri Experience' with a lip-sync and dance number. Most of the girls do some sort of song and dance, and Lala has shown her chops on the stage multiple times ... but that being said, she delivers her swagger so flawlessly that she captivates the judges and wins the episode, earning x3 votes for the Fame Game as her prize.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: In the 'Screen Queens' challenge Lala plays a "dumb bitch" drag queen trying to steal tucking panties, although gets questioned on her choice of accent with Michelle Visage saying it sounds like Lala is channeling Fat Albert.

Alexis Michelle (4th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8alexis.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 9 (5th)

"I know my way around here."

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Throughout the season, Alexis seems to have a playful crush on Lala Ri, which Lala does not seem to reciprocate whatsoever. After Lala's elimination and prompted by a visiting Katya, Alexis reveals that she now has her eyes on Kandy ... who also seems to have no romantic interest in Alexis at all.
  • Always Second Best: By Episode 8 Alexis is quite aware she's the only queen remaining who doesn't have a win, and is feeling the pressure with the target that places on her back. Like many times when a queen states this outright at the head of the episode, this was the week Alexis finally earns her first win.
  • Broken Tears: Willingly giving up her part for the True Crime improv challenge for Lala and then being bullied out of her second choice by Kandy, Alexis decides to (yet again) be the bigger person and play a role no one else wanted before the stress gets to her and she has a good, hard cry. While Kandy rolls her eyes at the dramatics, most of the other queens (especially Jimbo) rally around Alexis to let it out and get back into the right headspace.
  • Casual Kink: In addition to the Covert Pervert stuff below, Alexis walks into the Werk Room wearing a harness over her shirt a number of times, which is what first leads to the bondage talk. Then there's the "Miss Manpig" runway.
  • Covert Pervert: Casually reveals she's had sex in a bondage swing before and asks if any of the other girls have ever done so. Jaymes tentatively raises her hand while Heidi reveals she's never tried it, but has been in a club where someone else was at the time.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: Makes the bold decision to play The Golden Girls legend Bea Arthur for Snatch Game of Love. While previous Golden Girls cast members have been attempted in the past, Alexis does very well with Ru even complimenting the fact Bea was an incredibly hard pick yet Alexis nailed her.
  • Drama Queen:
    • On Untucked Alexis bursts into tears in the werk room before the first elimination, saying she wasn't sure how she'd be received. Some other queens are clearly nonplussed at Alexis making herself the focus when she's safe, at a point when everyone else is trying to console Monica. In confessionals Jaymes Mansfield talks about it as "theater shenanigans" and Jessica Wild compares the scene to a telenovela with a "lot of drama".
    • After Heidi leaves the competition, Alexis starts crying Broken Tears in response about losing one of her sisters ... however the rest of the queens sort of give her glances not knowing if she's trying to turn Heidi's departure all about herself.
    • When picking parts for the True Crime improv challenge, Alexis gets steamrolled yet again into a role she wasn't passionate about, as well as being accused of being manipulative by Kandy who didn't want to give up the role she called dibs on. Feeling the pressure of being shortchanged again Alexis has a breakdown ... only for Kandy to roll her eyes and storm out of the werk room. Ru even calls Alexis out (playfully) that she's cried in just about every episode thus far.
  • Easily Forgiven: Gets the chance to formally apologize for using Exact Words in order to justify eliminating Lala when the two are brought back for the Fame Games Talent Show. Lala, for her part, admits she was angry at the moment but realizes it's just a game and immediately accepts Alexis's apology.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: After Lala saves her over Kahanna, Alexis assures her she will not forget that going forward. The very next week when the roles are reversed, Alexis uses that opportunity to eliminate Lala stating her to be bigger competition and on an 'upwards trajectory'. Even though Kandy was thankful to be saved, she did mention Alexis was not someone who could be trusted as a result.
  • Exact Words: After eliminating Lala, her defense to the other queens is that she never said she wouldn't eliminate Lala — just that she wouldn't forget what Lala did.
  • Heroic BSoD: Starts to suffer one in Episode 7 after Kandy bullies her out of the part she wanted (after Alexis already gave up another part to Lala) and having a good Broken Tears cry. She's feeling like a competition-setting just isn't the best place for her mentally and she's not having fun.
  • It's All About Me: During the first episode's Untucked, when Monica and Darienne are up for elimination, Alexis bursts into tears, saying she wasn't sure how she would be received coming back to the show. All the queens give her side-eye since, as while it is a valid concern it was not the time for her to make the moment all about her.
  • Longing Look: Throws a lot of them towards Lala Ri, as Alexis openly admits to having a crush on her fellow queen. By episode 5 she's getting called out on her obvious lust quite a bit.
  • Never My Fault: When her group's 'Screen Queen' TV Trailer flops, she is quick to point out the entire concept idea was Darienne's and not her own. She continues to throw her under the bus in Untucked even despite saying she doesn't mean to throw her under the bus.
  • Opinion Flip-Flop: When Heidi calls out Kandy for saying if Jimbo was ever in the bottom, Kandy would eliminate her Heidi looks to Alexis to back her up since she was purportedly present for the conversation. At first Alexis agrees with Heidi ... only to turn and suddenly say that's not what happened at all, leaving everyone confused.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: Alexis does very good in the Carson Kressley Roast, however as the judges note the other queens just got more laughs than her.
  • Patter Song: Trope referred to by name when playing 'Not my first rodeo' Joan Crawford for the Rusical, even showing vocal exercises for how to warm up with her Broadway training.
  • Playing Against Type: invoked Brought up after Alexis gets the Country Music Patter Song 'Not my first rodeo' Joan Crawford for the Rusical; Alexis is a New York City Broadway girl and Country and Western just wouldn't be something you'd expect in her wheelhouse. Gets pointed out for laughs during choreography when Alexis reveals her western credentials are that's she's been in a NYC Western-style bar once, and she's visited Wyoming twice before.
  • Refuge in Audacity: For the 'Miss Fill-In-That-Blank' Runway Alexis struts the catwalk as Miss Manpig dressed in a gown modeled after a piss-stained jockstrap , while proudly displaying a red-hanky train and elbow-length black, latex glove to show her affinity for fisting.
  • Running Gag: Alexis crying. Happens throughout the season, and all the other queens plus RuPaul poke fun that they need to always be careful around Alexis, as anything seems capable of setting off the waterworks.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: Ends up in this dynamic with Jimbo during Snatch Game of Love; Alexis plays legendary Snark Knight Bea Arthur competing for laughs against Jimbo's hyperactive Genki Girl Shirley Temple.

Jessica Wild (3rd)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8jessica.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 2 (6th)

"Always go for the gold."

  • Accidental Innuendo: invoked For the 'Joan Crawford Unauthorized Rusical' Jessica gets 'Bring me the axe!' Joan, however during recording due to her heavy accent it sounded more like Jessica was saying "Bring me the ass!". The queens are understandably in hysterics.
Jimbo: Can we get some ass to the mainstage? Jessica Wild wants ass.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Jessica is a very nice person, and in the Roast says outright she does not want to insult anyone or hurt their feelings. With a lot of prodding from the judges and her competitors, Jessica cuts loose and delivers the second-best roast of the night, leaving everyone burned!
  • Boob-Based Gag: To an absolutely ridiculous degree when performing to "Coconuts" by Kim Petras. Even her lip-sync Assassin, Ra'Jah, has trouble focusing on her own performance with just how wildly Jessica's coconuts bounce!
  • Flat Character: Was under a lot of pressure to do well in Snatch Game of Love as she was part of the original season to do Snatch Game, but ultimately her pick of Puerto Rican legend Iris Chacón just didn't go far enough according to the judges.
  • Commonality Connection: Finds one with Joan Crawford when discussing Jimbo's role as 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?' Joan in that in spite of being treated as over-the-hill by Hollywood, all Crawford wanted to do was work. Jessica, as a drag queen pushing her 40's, can relate.
  • Sausage String Silliness: Invoked with her look for the 'Miss Fill-In-The-Blank' runway when she goes as Miss Sausage Party, wearing sausage strings around her waist, as fringe, and in her crown.
  • Shout-Out: For her lip-synch against Ra'Jah to "Coconuts", Jessica dons a look in dedication to Spanish transgender celebrity La Veneno.
  • The Unintelligible: Says outright the fact she was struggling with the English language was her biggest hurdle in Season 2. While her accent is still quite thick, Jessica is much more comfortable being bilingual and is happy to report she now knows what a Golden Shower is! Even so, she still struggles now and again, exemplified in the True Crime improv challenge as she knows she'll be a beat behind having to translate things in her head before she can respond.
  • Vulgar Humor: Gets called out for pushing it too far in the 'Screen Queens' TV Trailer challenge, at one point giving a far too expressive mimicry of giving fellatio or when trying to pull out a water bottle from her ass. Fortunately, she took direction well and editing paid off as her team ultimately gives a winning trailer.

Kandy Muse (Runner-up)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/as8kandy.jpeg

Original Appearance: Season 13 (runner-up)

(laughs) "The Muse is back!"

  • Base-Breaking Character: invoked When discussing her drag during the entrance confessional, Kandy claims to be one of the most polarizing characters the show's ever had.
Kandy Muse: I came on 13 with this big personality that was not everyone's favorite, so I am one of the most polarizing characters in Drag Race history.
  • Blessed with Suck: Wins the Lesbian Makeover challenge but loses the proceeding lip-sync, but since it was a Foregone Conclusion neither Jimbo nor Jessica were going to eliminate themselves, Kandy is still in charge of picking which of the remaining queens will join her for the finale even without the $10,000 tip.
  • Boring Yet Practical: Gets critiqued for her black, pleather gown for the Winner's Look challenge for it just reading too simple while not nailing the crucial details to elevate it.
  • Brought to You by the Letter "S": For her 'Night of 1,000 Grace Jones' look, Kandy chooses a look covered in geometric shapes that originally had Jones with an '!' on her headpiece. Kandy's version swaps out the '!' for 'K', obviously for 'K'andy.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Sort of; Alexis eliminated Lala over Kandy under the assumption that if the roles were reversed Kandy would have her back. It seems while Kandy was aware this is what Alexis wanted, Kandy never really agreed to it, and knowing Alexis wasn't that loyal to favors decided to pick her lipstick the next episode for that reason over Jessica.
  • History Repeats: In a similar fashion to Raven from Season 2 and All Stars 1, Kandy makes it all the way to the end of the season and places runner-up just like the last time she competed.
  • It's All About Me: Kandy has a tendency to steamroll the other queens to get the parts she wants, such as for the MC in the SNL skit, 'No more wire hangers' Joan for the Joan Crawford Rusical, and the Great Detective role for the True Crime challenge. Twice Kandy has even put her thumb over a role claiming she wasn't calling dibs ... only to basically call dibs when she says there's nothing else she wants to play.
  • Large Ham: Well yeah, it's Kandy Muse! Kandy literally shouts her way into the Werk Room, with the other contestants hearing her before they can see anyone. In the entrance confessional she then describes herself as loud and a big personality.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Gets called out by Heidi for not only trying to drag her sisters down to make herself look better, but that she specifically said if Jimbo was ever in the bottom Kandy would eliminate her in spite of the three of them supposedly being in an alliance. Kandy vehemently denies having said that, and says the accusation was playing dirty, since now Jimbo would be looking at her like she was a traitor. Kandy is given the chance to prove her word when she, alone, gets to decide who to bring with herself to the final two, to which Kandy decides to honor her alliance with Jimbo.
  • Motor Mouth: As chatty and assertive as ever; you can bet that Kandy will talk over a huge chunk of each episode. Kasha Davis even notes, when going to pack her things in episode 3's Untucked, that the room seems so quiet without Kandy!
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When Heidi reaches her breaking point and walks off the set in episode 5, Kandy, who was literally just chewing her out over off-camera gossip, is the first girl to chase after her and try to talk her down. Kandy may be a bulldozer, but she clearly never meant to cause a Despair Event Horizon.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: Kandy was technically eliminated during Season 13's Rusical before she was saved at the last minute, so she was concerned to find out she'd be in another one on All-Stars. Not only does she perform great as 'No more wire hangers' Joan Crawford, but she wins the entire episode and the proceeding lip-synch.
  • Nonindicative Name: For the 'Miss Fill-In-That-Blank' Runway Kandy goes as Miss Arrogance in a very short furry dress with hair piled high with three crowns. The judges express confusion as there's nothing about the look that specifically shouts "Arrogance".note
  • Only in It for the Money: Invoked and played with come her song for the finale, Pay Me In Money, in which Kandy says not to try and pay her in compliments, designer clothes, or jokes because all she wants and needs is the prize money.
  • This Is a Competition: Its clear friendships are of second importance to Kandy. After she strongarms Alexis into giving up her preferred role for the True Crime improv challenge, Kandy says outright she doesn't care about making anyone cry, she's only there to win a crown and $200,000. Even her alliance with Jimbo is often called into question as Heidi saying that Kandy was not loyal to the group, although when it comes down to Kandy getting to select who comes along with her to the finale, she does honor her alliance and brings Jimbo with her (even though she admits Jimbo is still her biggest competition).
  • The Unintelligible: Ends up being her critique in the Roast challenge; Kandy was funny, she just had a smidge of trouble with her enunciation and didn't let the room breath between jokes.
  • Vulgar Humor: Gets called out for pushing it too far in the 'Screen Queens' TV Trailer challenge, she states that while her team had some issues with teamwork, the one thing they have in common is acting like sluts for comedy. Fortunately, she took direction well and editing paid off as her team ultimately gives a winning trailer.

Jimbo (Winner)

Original Appearances: Canada's Drag Race, Season 1 (4th), UK vs. the World, Season 1 (7th)

"I didn't come to race, I came to cruise."

  • Abusive Parents: During her Tic-Tac lunch with Ru and Michelle Jimbo explains that their twisted sense of self and comedy stems from their abusive childhood, where his prestigeous scientist father and his mother who was his father's assistant would get blackout drunk constantly. Jimbo explains there wasn't a night that passed that he didn't wake up to blood and broken furniture, and their father having punched a hole through every door in the house. Fortunately for Jimbo, one day their mother just had enough and left with him to give Jimbo a better life away from that environment.
  • Achilles' Heel: Unfortunately for Jimbo, lip-syncing is just not her strongest skill. By her second win in this competition she mention she's lip-synched four times and has never won ... sadly it was made five for five when she loses to Shannel. Becomes six for six in the next episode when she wins again but loses the lip-sync to Jasmine Kennedie in a Curb-Stomp Battle. Finally managed a win by virtue of sheer weirdness on her seventh lip-synch, though.
  • Adults Dressed as Children: Wins Snatch Game of Love by playing a giant, deranged version of America's Depression Era Sweetheart Shirley Temple.
  • Blatant Lies:
    • When she reveals she'll be playing Shirley Temple for Snatch Game of Love RuPaul asks Jimbo if she's ever played Shirley Temple before, to which Jimbo without breaking character says she's never done it before in her life and this was the first time she'll ever be attempting the impersonation.
    • Happens again with her Trixie Mattel look for the Winner's Look challenge; Jimbo decides to wear a face-kini and not wear a stitch of make-up under it (in spite of her fellow queens warning her it was a bad idea), however when Michelle directly asks Jimbo if she was wearing make-up under her mask, Jimbo without missing a beat responds "of course!"
  • Boob-Based Gag: Jimbo makes her werk room entrance in a bodysuit designed to look like an exaggerated bikini body, including huge Fake Boobs played for comedy. As always, Jimbo loves a massive, spine-threatening bust. This bleeds into her runways as well, for the 'Ass The World Turns' runway she wears asscheeks as big as her tits, and for the 'Miss Fill-In-The-Blank' runway she outdoes her even normally over-the-top bust as Miss Tits McGee 2003, complete with self-proclaimed Z-cups.
Jimbo: The breast of the west. The tits, the top. Big tits, that's me.
  • Boring Yet Practical: For the Lesbian Makeover challenge Jimbo's partner is not comfortable embracing the "drag clown" which is typical of Jimbo's aesthetic. Ultimately Jimbo decides she'd rather her partner be comfortable, so they strut the stage in a black and bedazzled sheer cocktail number ... although the judges are quick to point out it's a bit too simple for what they were hoping for (although they are happy Jimbo's partner appears to be enjoying herself).
  • Call-Back:
    • Invoked for the Roast challenge. Jimbo doesn't think she is very good at telling jokes as herself, so she decides to channel the queen of roasts Joan Rivers, whom Jimbo impersonated and won Snatch Game on her original season of Drag Race Canada.
    • In addition, in the same episode for her Lip-sync for her Legacy Jimbo brings back the 'Bologna Ghost' from her talent show performance in UK Versus the World, and even (once again) gives birth to bologna on stage.
    • For her performance look for the finale, Jimbo wears a white-version of her leather Mickey Mouse entrance look from Drag Race Canada.
  • Continuity Nod: Much like with UK vs. the World, Jimbo's confessional look is exactly the same as the first time she competed, right down to the cowboy shirt.
  • Death or Glory Attack: For the Roast of Carson Kressley Jimbo does something never seen before in a Drag Race Roast, she decides to do it as her Drag Race Canada Snatch Game winning impersonation of Joan Rivers. Everyone points out what a risk this was, as Joan was the queen of the burns and those are some immeasurably large shoes to fill. Comes out as a "Glory" as the judges are in awe of Jimbo's comedy, saying it was like Joan had come back from the dead for a few minutes.
  • Honor Before Reason: In regard to the whole Heidi vs. Kandy debacle, in spite of the fact she doesn't know if Kandy will stay true to their alliance, Jimbo firmly states her intention to stay loyal to Kandy because that was what they had agreed upon. Pays dividends when Kandy is given the final choice on who to take with her to the final two and she honors her alliance with Jimbo.
  • I Can't Dance: Jimbo was not thrilled with the prospect of the Rusical, as that was the challenge that sent her home last time. All she hopes for is to give a safe performance, which she fortunately succeeds at.
  • Jaw Drop: Jimbo's jaw drops in shock when she realises the Lipsync Assassin she faces in week 2 is Pangina Heals, who sent her home in UK vs. the World. Emphasised in Untucked, which replays Jimbo's reaction in slow motion.
  • Lucky Seven: After miserably losing the lip-sync six times, Jimbo finally gets her first win on her seventh attempt.
  • Momma's Boy: Self-admitted and for good reason; when Jimbo was a child their mother left their abusive, alcoholic father, got herself clean and finally gave Jimbo a stable home to live. During her lunch with Ru, Jimbo proudly states her mom is her biggest fan.
  • My Greatest Failure: By Episode 6 Jimbo reveals that lip-synching in front of Mama Ru five times only to fail every single time is devastating for her, especially with the last time her tripping as soon as the song started. She's in tears over the fact that lip-synching is supposed to be one of those drag queen staples, yet when she's on the mainstage of the show she just chokes.
    • My Greatest Second Chance: Jimbo finally wins her seventh lip-sync against none other than Silky Nutmeg Ganache. Even Silky is flabbergasted than out of everyone she could have lost to, it was Jimbo!
  • No Infantile Amnesia: Played for laughs come her finale song, I Remember Being Born, it seems to stem from Jimbo being such a kooky person that she not only remembers her own birth, but remembers mouthing off to the doctors and walking out of the delivery room (although she does admit she doesn't remember her first time eating corn).
  • Old Soldier: After getting the role of past-her-prime 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?' Joan Crawford for the Rusical, Jimbo notes that halfway through the competition she's now the oldest queen remaining.
  • Ridiculous Procrastinator: Almost bites her in the ass for the Winner's Look challenge, Jimbo wastes a lot of time poking around other peoples' stations instead of getting started on her own look. In the end, Jimbo picks a very involved and detailed design that takes her to the last minute to finish, not even being able to put on make-up under her mask before hitting the stage.
  • Straight Man and Wise Guy: Ends up in this dynamic with Alexis Michelle during Snatch Game of Love; Jimbo plays attention-starved Sugar Bowl Shirley Temple going up against the Deadpan Snarker of Alexis's Bea Arthur.
  • Surreal Humor: This is Jimbo's general aesthetic, but its exemplified during her lip-sync against Silky Nutmeg Ganache (her seventh in the series with her having lost each previous one), when Jimbo goes all out as a pregnant ghost giving birth to bologna on-stage that she then attacks the judges with. Ru is left cackling!
  • Trademark Favorite Food: As it turns out: Bologna. In the werk room she starts throwing it at her fellow queens to their confusion, and then turned up to eleven for her lip-synch against Silky when Jimbo performs as a pregnant ghost who gives birth to slices of baloney that she then attacks the judges with.
  • Two Beings, One Body: For the 'RuVeal Yourself' Runway instead of just doing a tearaway or a two-in-one dress, Jimbo instead elects to wear a mold of her boy-face on the back of her head and walk backwards in a male bodysuit, before turning around to reveal themselves in drag with a huge apple over their crotch as a cheeky ode to Adam and/or Eve.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: Taken to the extreme when Jimbo makes an ice cream sundae for the Talent Show. She pulls ice cream out of her wig, a banana out of her ass, nuts out of her bra, whipped cream out of her tits, and to top it off a cherry out of her crotch.
  • Vulgar Humor: Gets called out for pushing it too far in the 'Screen Queens' TV Trailer challenge, at one point getting scolded for continuously trying to pull an elimination lipstick from her teammate's asses. Fortunately, she took direction well and editing paid off as her team ultimately gives a winning trailer. However this doesn't deter Jimbo from leaning into this as it's just a part of her natural sense of humor.
