In General
- Dying Race: It is revealed that due to the infertile land they had left, the Wizards had been reduced to only 30 people over the last 1000 years.
- Spear Counterpart: Wizards use magic like how the Witches do, though they live in separate worlds. Both are even born from plants; Roses for Witches and Penpen grass for Wizards.
Alexander T. Oyajide (Feradagio the Great)
Voiced by: Ginzo Matsuo (seasons 1-3), Nobuaki Kanemitsu (season 4) (Japanese), Francisco Andrés Valdivia (European Spanish)
- Affably Evil: He remained a legitimately nice person even after he performed his Face–Heel Turn. Still doesn't stop the Ojamajos from taking him seriously when he causes trouble.
- The Atoner: During Motto and Dokkan but beginning during Sharp.
- Butt-Monkey: Whenever the FLAT4 ultimately fail to bring Hana to the King of the Wizard World, they stick Hana on him and lure the Ojamajos into punishing him. Often with hilarious results.
- Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: He's quite the Dirty Old Man Butt-Monkey most of the time, but proves to be quite capable when push comes to shove, or when someone he cares for is in danger. In such circunstances he shows exactly why he's considered one of the best wizards.
- Dirty Old Man: His status as a pervert is made abundantly clear from the first time the girls met him and he shows a keen interest in young women and especially Onpu.
- The Dragon: To Count Ojijide during Sharp, where he's following his orders in hopes of becoming a baron. He has a Dragon of his own in the form of Akatsuki, but he doesn't do everything Oyajide tells him to do.
- Dub Name Change: The European Spanish dub renames him "Alexander T. Bigotes" (the new surname meaning something like "Mustachioed One").
- Evil Sorcerer: Subverted. He was just following orders.
- Face–Heel Turn: He is tasked with capturing Hana and bringing her to the King of the Wizard World by Ojijide. He decides to do this when offered a chance to become a baron despite having to betray the Ojamajos.
- Fanboy: Of Onpu. He takes pride in being number 7 in her fan club!
- Forced Transformation: Was turned into a wizard toad.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision: Oyajide debated about helping Ojijide kidnap Hana since it would cause a rift to form between him and the Ojamajos. Ojijide's promise to convince the King to promote him to Baron overrode that.
- Fun with Acronyms: Eventually joins the FLAT4 and they become the FLOAT5.
- Gratuitous French
- Heel–Face Revolving Door: He decides to stop trying near the end of Sharp. He eventually becomes good friends with Hana.
- Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain: When he's screwing up, which is every time the FLAT4 decide to dump Hana on him whenever they're about to fail and get caught.
- Ironic Hell: Spent season 2 trying to kidnap Hana. Spends season 3 and most of season 4 helping out at the Witch Kindergarten. Subverted since he seems to have accepted it, even though he sometimes tries to sneak off to see Onpu's performances.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: When he's sent back out of the Royal Patraine Computer, he doesn't remember any of what he's done in there.
- Leitmotif: "Kumikyoku Alexander T. Oyajide"
- Let's Get Dangerous!: He can be genuinely capable when he's not being an Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain.
- Lucky Seven: Subverted. He may be number 7 in Onpu's fan club, but he's less lucky than your average perverted old wizard.
- Mentor Mascot: Appeared to be a second one in Season 1. Averted more or less because his job at the time was to recapture the bad cards.
- Nice Guy: Despite being a Dirty Old Man, he is quite a very nice man, such as playing a melody on the piano to help the babies fall asleep and playing with Hana when she was just a toddler and granting her desire to see the Ojamajos again.
- Not Me This Time: Quite a bit in the second half of Sharp, as the FLAT 4 always used him as The Scapegoat.
- Power-Up: He one consumed a magic-enhancing fruit that left him able to take on the girls even when they were in Royal Patraine. However, it came with a rather nasty side-effect after half an hour...
- Punny Name: Oyaji means old-man.
- Ship Tease: With Majo Rika when they are first introduced to each other and in one eyecatch, but this never goes anywhere.
- Single-Target Sexuality: He's Onpu-sexual in later arcs.
- Spear Counterpart: To Majo Rika.
- Stalker with a Crush: Whle he is a fanboy of Onpu, his tendencies mark him as this, given that he sends her flowers in almost every scene he shares with her and clearly enjoys being in her presence.
- Taken for Granite: Uses this on the girls in episode 22 of ''Sharp''. He tries it again in episode 23. It doesn't work.
- To Be Lawful or Good: In Dokkan, he faces the choice to continue his test to keep his job at the kindergarten or use magic to save Hana at the cost of being fired. He chooses the latter.
- Would Hurt a Child: Turned all the Ojamajos into stone when he was first sent to capture Hana. Later, he even used the other babies as hostages to get away from the girls and force the older witches to comply.
Wizard King
- Big Bad: Of Sharp since he ordered the kidnapping of Hana. Ultimately subverted.
- Forced Transformation: He is implied to have suffered a similar curse as the Curse of the Witch Frog. When we finally see him for the first time, he is in the form of a lizard.
- Poor Communication Kills: Had he been more clear about why he wanted Hana, then Philippe wouldn't have sent Oyajide to kidnap Hana.
- Reasonable Authority Figure
- The Reveal: He had actually been transformed into a lizard by means which he won't explain and only wanted Hana so she could change him back.
Count Philippe S. Ojijide
- Dragon-in-Chief: He follows the King's orders yet calls most of the shots before the King's true intentions for Hana were revealed.
- Evil Chancellor: Yep. Until the King of the Wizard World stripped him of that title.
- Heel–Face Turn: After he learned the error of his ways, he was demoted from his position, though he is seen working directly under the King in later episodes and doing his best to help the Ojamajos in Dokkan.
- Laser-Guided Karma: His attempts at provoking a war against the Witch World to regain fertile land needed to save the Wizards ended up with him being stripped of his title and rank.
- Poor Communication Kills: Misinterpreted the King's orders to kidnap Hana. He thought the King wanted to make war on the witches when in reality he wanted Hana to break the curse over him.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: He had Hana kidnapped so as to make war on the Witches in an effort to regain their lost land and have a better chance at surviving.
The FLAT4
In General
A group of four young Wizards who assist Oyajide in capturing Hana during Sharp.
- Affably Evil: They were genuinely nice and cared about one another despite their intentions.
- Becoming the Mask: All four of them put on a facade to try and get closer to the Ojamajos with the express purpose of kidnapping Hana. Over time, however, they started growing uncomfortable tricking them like this and it in turn made doubt whether they should continue. This ultimately leads to their Heel–Face Turn.
- Chick Magnet: When they show up again in Dokkan, all four of them are dragged away from the Ojamajos by the girls in the school they end up attending; they made it clear that they didn't want the Ojamajos interfering with them.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Everyone except Akatsuki, when it comes to the wonders of the "human world."
- Curb-Stomp Battle: There was very little the girls could do when they finally fought them, even after Akatsuki allowed them to change into Royal Patraine. They No Selled the girls' attacks one by one before Akatsuki personally trapped them in bubbles that they would waste their Royal Seeds on just to escape. Even after Doremi managed to escape with one attempt, it was unlikely that she would've been able to defeat all four of them by herself.
- Demoted to Extra: When they reappear in Dokkan, they don't have as much of a role than they did when they were in Sharp.
- Et Tu, Brute?: Particularly Akatsuki, but all four share this since they deceived the girls.
- Evil Counterpart: Akatsuki, Fujio, Leon, and Tooru to Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, and Onpu, respectively.
- Fun with Acronyms:
- Fujio the "F", Leon the "L", Akatsuki the "A", and Tooru the "T"; together they are the FLAT4. Oyajide later joined with "O" to make them the FLOAT5.
- Flat is the musical opposite of Sharp, marking the FLAT4 as being the Psycho Rangers to the girls. When Oyajide makes them the FLOAT5 during Dokkan, they help keep things afloat by providing support while the Ojamajos (sans Hana and Pop, the former because she is assisting them boys and latter because she's been Demoted to Extra) hurry to awaken Majo Tourbillon.
- Hopeless Suitor: To everyone but Akatsuki; not one of the FLAT4 has any luck in scoring dates with their respective counterparts since the girls rejected their first advances. Akatsuki is the only exception because Doremi returns his feelings. This is averted in the manga, where it is established that the Ojamajos have crushes on their respective counterparts.
- Heel–Face Turn: All of them turn good after Doremi tells them that there is another way to save the Wizard World. It is cemented when both groups work together to reach the Wizard World castle.
- Leitmotif: One of the songs in "Kumikyoku Alexander T. Oyajide" tends to play during their appearances. The song "Bokutachi Elite Mahoutsukai" also fits the bill.
- Local Hangout: Their Bad Guy Bar takes place in a local burger shop at a metropolitan mall.
- No-Sell: They effortlessly block the Ojamajos' attacks during episode 46 of Sharp. Then, rather than try to overcome their defenses, they seal the girls within bubbles made from their powerful magic.
- Pretty Boy: Even from a young age, they were notably good-looking. When they come back in Ojamajo Doremi 16, Aiko even comments on how feminine they look in appearance.
- Psycho Rangers: They are the villainous counterparts to the Ojamajos; cementing this is that the Ojamajos represent Sharp while the FLAT4 represent the musical opposite, Flat.
- Punch-Clock Villain: The FLAT4 rotate for missions. If any of them is having an "off" day, he'll usually spend the rest of the day doing whatever he wants and won't stay to help out any of his teammates.
- Put on a Bus: After restoring peace in the Wizard World by the end of Sharp, the FLAT4 took a Long Bus Trip. The Bus Came Back in Dokkan.
- Quirky Miniboss Squad: They have their own little quirks (Akatsuki and his fondness of Battle Rangers, Fujio and his note-taking, Leon and his interest in sports and Engrish, and Tooru and his interest in becoming an Idol). And they happen to be the elite of the Wizard World and prove it when they curbstomp the Ojamajos despite the latter being in Royal Patraine at the time.
- Spear Counterpart: To the girls in Sharp; the girls represent Sharp while they represent Flat, two opposites in music.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: All four of them were trying to kidnap Hana so they could use her powerful magic to help save the Wizard World from doom.
Akatsuki
Voiced by: Tomo Saeki (Japanese), Alfredo Martínez (European Spanish)
- Badass Boast: After Tooru's Evil Gloating, he applies one of these right before single-handily disabling the girls.
- Akatsuki: "Magic can also be used like this."
- Becoming the Mask: His affection towards Doremi was a ploy to get close enough to kidnap Hana at first. Eventually evolved into true affection and ultimately caused his Heel–Face Turn.
- Crazy Jealous Guy: For Doremi as we can see in Dokkan, he also goes further in Ojamajo Doremi 17.
- Dragon with an Agenda: While he does follow Oyajide's orders, he tends to do things so that Oyajide pays for his screw ups.
- Et Tu, Brute?: During Sharp episode 46. He finally reveals his true colors to Doremi and confesses that he had been using her all this time just to get close to Hana. Doremi understandably does not take it well.
- Fanboy: Becomes a huge fan of Battle Rangers. In fact, what makes him really guilty about pretending to be Doremi's friend was the fact that she gave him a limited edition action figure of Battle Red...
- Honor Before Reason: During Sharp episode 46, he allowed the Ojamajos to transform into Royal Patraine. He did this to "Make the final battle fair". Not that it really mattered...
- I Did What I Had to Do: Took Hana several times on orders from Ojijide and Oyajide in order to help save the Wizard World.
- King Incognito: More like "Prince Incognito", but the principle is the same. Was really the prince of the Wizard World. Not even the rest of the FLAT4 knew.
- Leitmotif: "A wa Akatsuki no A", though it's rarely played in-show.
- Love Triangle: Gets caught in one with Doremi and Kotake. Ultimately loses out.
- The Leader: Of the FLAT4.
- Let's Fight Like Gentlemen: It was his decision to let the girls change into Royal Patraine. He and the FLAT4 still run roughshod over them.
- Relationship Sabotage: In Ojamajo Doremi 17 and 18 he attempts to break up Doremi and Kotake. It doesn't work.
- The Reveal: He is really the Prince of the Wizard World. Even the rest of the FLAT4 didn't know.
- The Rival: Becomes one to Kotake in regards to winning Doremi's affections.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: He is the Prince of the Wizard World, and he does a lot to try and save it. Later, he does as much as he can to help out in keeping the cursed vines in check.
- Spear Counterpart: To Doremi
Leon
Voiced by: Mayumi Yamaguchi (Japanese), Pepe Carabias (European Spanish)
- Amazon Chaser: Goes after Aiko because she beats him at every turn.
- The Brute: Prior to his Heel–Face Turn, Leon, being Aiko's Spear Counterpart, was athletic and capable of beating a team of basketball players by himself.
- Butt-Monkey: Every time he challenges Aiko. Subverted during episode 46 of Sharp.
- Evil Counterpart: To Aiko during Sharp; he was one of the villains and working to kidnap Hana.
- Evil Gloating: During episode 46 of Sharp, he No Sells Aiko's attack and then mockingly takes it as a "thank you" gift for the flowers he conjured earlier.
- Gratuitous Engrish: Got on Aiko's nerves once. She even lampshades it.Aiko: Me, me, me, me... You're annoying. Could ya stop using that half-hearted English?
- Jerk Jock: Subverted.
- Leitmotif: "L wa Leon no L"
- Pride: One of the driving factors in challenging Aiko is to heal his wounded pride after she beat him.
- The Rival: Considers himself this to Aiko.
- Spear Counterpart: To Aiko
- Stalker with a Crush: Started off as a Stalker without a Crush, but after Aiko inspires him to work harder, he turns into this.
- The Worf Effect:
- His first focus episode introduced him as being highly adept at sports. He spent the majority of the episode trying to defeat Aiko in various sports after she beat him.
- During Dokkan, he actually ends up lunging into a lamp post and collapsing onto the ground. Granted, he was trying to get a cursed vine, but that was a pretty bone-headed move on his part.
- He actually manages to do this to Aiko during Sharp episode 46 by effortlessly blocking Aiko's own Royal Patraine attack.
- Worthy Opponent: Sees Aiko as this.
Fujio
Voiced by: Mamiko Noto (Japanese), José María Carrero (European Spanish)
- Badass Pacifist: He is the only one who doesn't attack or even use magic against the girls during their duel in Sharp episode 46.
- Character Tic: Always carries a purple notebook with him and taking notes in it.
- The Evil Genius: As per his role as Hazuki's Evil Counterpart.
- Evil Redhead: Prior to his Heel–Face Turn; he was a villain during Sharp and he was known to have red-orange hair.
- Leitmotif: "F wa Fujio no F"
- Love Triangle: Believes himself to be in one with Hazuki and Masaru. Ultimately subverted.
- The Rival: to Masaru Yada in regards to winning Hazuki's affections.
Tooru
Voiced by: Kazumi Okushima (Japanese), Luis Vicente Ivars (European Spanish)
- Ambiguously Brown: Tooru is more dark-skinned than the rest of the FLAT4.
- Bad "Bad Acting": When Tooru plays an extra in a drama series Onpu is starring in, his acting is over-the-top, unnatural, and annoys the director.
- Cute, but Cacophonic: With the "cute" coming from the art style.
- Evil Gloating: After he blocks Onpu's attack during episode 46 of Sharp.Tooru: "You're weak!"
- Fanboy: Becomes one to Onpu. He's even the millionth member in her fan club!
- Gratuitous English: Once when he tried to recite one of Onpu's songs during an audition.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: While he is an excellent dancer despite having improvised moves, his "singing" voice is enough to cause anyone who listens cover their ears. First was a test audience when he applies to be an idol for the first time, and the second is when he was asked to sing by the judges during Dokkan.
- Idol Singer: He's trying to be this, but fails miserably. But he is really good at dancing, though.
- It's All About Me: In his focus episode, he tried to make the movie Onpu was playing a role in about him because of his "talent". He got thrown out of production and dragged out of the studio for his attitude.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Thought he knew everything about being an idol. Onpu thankfully set him straight.
- Leitmotif: "T wa Tooru no T"
- No-Sell: He conjures a barrier to protect against Onpu's whirlwind attack.
- Pride: Believed himself to be fully capable of doing anything with impressive skill, up to and including being an idol like Onpu. In fact, the main reason he kidnapped Hana during episode 41 of Sharp was to spite Onpu for telling him off.Tooru: "You're a hundred Years Too Early to be lecturing me!"
- Small Name, Big Ego: He thought he had an incredible amount of talent regarding being an idol when he really had no idea what he was doing. Subverted later after a Kirk Summation from Onpu when she continued to perform despite an injury (from him no less!).
