    Majo Tourbillon

  • Anti-Villain: Had she not suffered so much in the Human World, she would not taken such drastic measures to make sure other Witches didn't suffer the same fate.
  • Big Bad: She only comes in toward the end of Sharp, but her influence is what ultimately drives the plot from then on outside of slice of life episodes.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Delivers one of these to the girls in Sharp episode 49 and would've done the same during Motto episode 50. It's implied she did this to every other Witch who entered her lair...
  • Dark Magical Girl: She replaces Onpu as this for the series. She is deeply emotionally scarred, she is quite powerful, and she will stop at nothing to make sure her goals of keeping Witches from suffering as she had suffered continue to be fulfilled.
  • Demonic Possession: Uses her spectral projection to do this to Momoko, taking over her body and trapping her mind in a Lotus-Eater Machine.
  • Eldritch Location: Not her, but where she spends the majority of the series: the Cursed Forest. note
  • Evil Laugh: She does this after cursing Hana during the second half of Motto.
  • The Faceless: Played with. In a flashback, her face is either covered by her veil or hidden by her hair. Subverted in Motto 50 when her true appearance is revealed.
  • Forced Transformation: Not her specifically, but she is responsible for it. She is the one who cast the Witch Frog Curse.note
  • Forgiveness: One of the things she needs to let go is her anger and resentment at herself for letting Anri die in front of her and for letting George die alone.
  • Freudian Excuse: She wants to prevent witches from contacting humans so as to protect them from the pain she suffered while she was in the human world.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: She serves as the main antagonist of the series starting with Sharp and causes a lot of damage by herself. And even though she gets over her past grief, her despair continues wrecking havoc.
  • Hot Witch: Despite being over 1000 years old and being in the Cursed Forest for that long, she has kept her physical beauty.
  • I Know Your True Name: The girls call her by her real name to restore her original humanly nature during their battle.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Does this to her personal chef. Such magic is forbidden (as Onpu found out), yet she could pull it off without getting cursed into slumber.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: She fell in love with and wed to George, a human man, 1000 years before the start of the series. As a Witch, she was assured to live for centuries even when she gave up her magic while George would age and die in only so many decades, ensuring that she would outlive him had his tragic accident not occurred.
  • Meaningful Name: Tourbillon is French for "Spiral" or "Whirlwind", and her spectral projection does occasionally swirl around like a whirlwind or spiral. She even protected the Love Supreme Flower by using a whirlwind of magic.
  • No Name Given: Like the Queen of the Witch World, her name was unknown until the end of Motto, when the girls are told her real name.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Even though she was a Witch, her own children were born from her womb, not a rose from the Witch World. Therefore, for all intents and purposes, they are human and thus would have the standard human lifespan. The main one that comes to mind is seeing her own son grow old and die right in front of her during her backstory in Sharp.
  • Physical God: Is established to have the most powerful magic of any witch in the last 1000 years and has proven capable of beating Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, and Onpu even when they used Royal Patraine.
  • Picky Eater: She hated vegetables and used various recipes made by her personal chef to get around it. She later cursed Hana to have this same thing.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Not quite black per se; more like a very deep blue. Her skin is still pale, though its to be expected since she was inside the Cursed Forest for a thousand years. She remains a Hot Witch.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Or rather, a thousand years old.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: A villainous example until her Heel–Face Turn. She drives several key events beginning at the end of Sharp and throughout Motto, such as cursing Hana, trying to kill her outright, possessing Momoko, and casting the Witch Frog Curse. Justified since she is the Big Bad.
  • Start of Darkness: Zigzagged. The death of her husband contributed to this. However, her son helped her to avoid it, along with her grandchildren. Played straight again when her grandchildren left and her son died of old age right in front of her.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: With George Bennett.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: She only wished to prevent humans and witches from meeting so as to keep the witches from suffering as she did.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: Gets hit with this hard when her son dies of old age right in front of her.
    • Another case of this is when her grandchildren leave her, citing that her never aging is turning people against them (even ruining Angela and Lola’s marriages) and they won’t find happiness staying with her. While they do realize their mistake, their words, along with their failure note  to return for Anri’s funeral is what convinces Tourbillion that humans are cold creatures.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Not to the extent of most, but still qualifies.
  • Would Hurt a Child: At the end of Sharp, she casts a curse on Hana that nearly kills her.
    • During Motto, she casts another curse on Hana so as to hinder her growth. It fails near the end of Motto, prompting her to possess Momoko and bring Hana to her lair and kill her directly. After Momoko snaps out of it, she attacks the girls directly with her magic.

    George Bennett
Majo Tourbillon's human husband.

    Anri Bennett
The son of George Bennett and the Queen from Two Reigns Ago.

Ingrid, Natasha, Mary-Ann, Lola, Angela and Roy

  • The Atoner: All of them lived with regret as they didn't return in time and Majo Tourbillon had gone back to the Witch World with a broken heart.
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead
    • Blond: Ingrid and Roy
    • Brunette: Natasha and Mary-Ann
    • Redhead: Angela and Lola
  • Generation Xerox: Like their grandmother, who was objected by Majo Roxanne about her marriage to George, Ingrid was objected by Anri about her marriage to Sean and like her grandmother she did get married to him.
  • Happily Married: Ingrid and Mary-Ann.
  • Missing Mom: Their mother (Anri's wife) died when they were very young.
  • Memento MacGuffin: Each of them were presents that Majo Tourbillon had given to them.
    • Ingrid: A handmade bedsheet as her wedding present.
    • Natasha: A "rainbow" handkerchief.
    • Mary-Ann: A bracelet made of seashells.
    • Lola: A scarf with a picture of Baba (as a cat) on it.
    • Angela: A handmade coaster.
    • Roy: A tapestry with a family picture. In the present day, it's in possession of his descendant, Robby.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Roy, Ingrid and Angela have this as they show up too late for the funeral and after Tourbillion leaves, as it finally dawns on them how much their grandmother loved them and they had thrown it away because of what others were saying. And while they try searching for her, they never found her, as she had retreated to the Witch World after Anri’s death.
    • Roy is hit with this again after he has grandchildren, finally understanding how his grandmother felt. The last we see of him is him tearfully hugging the family tapestry while his grandchildren watch, asking for forgiveness.
  • Parental Substitute: Their grandmother, the Previous Queen, became their mother figure when Anri's wife died.
  • Unwitting Instigatorof Doom: Everything their grandmother did can get traced back to them: All of them had decided to leave the household as people were turning against them due to Tourbillion’s immortality, even going as far as saying that directly to Tourbillon’s face during the last time they see each other. Those words end up scarring Tourbillion deeply, and when they fail to show up for Anri’s funeral note , she comes to the conclusion that they hated her due to her being a witch, resulting in her casting the Witch Frog Curse, cuts off the Human world from the Witch World and retreats into the Love Supreme Forest. While they do realize that their mistake, it was still far too late as the damage was already done.
  • Witch Hunt: An adult Natasha left her because people called her and her sisters "Witch".

    Baba

Voiced by: Romi Park (Japanese), Inés Blázquez (European Spanish)

    Robby Phoenix
A boy Onpu met during the time when she competed on a game show. He's Roy's present day descendant.

    Mrs. Phoenix
Robby's mother, who is rather protective of her son and refused to let him show off his magical power. She's the one who provides the girls with Majo Tourbillon's final gift: The tapestry.
