    Hailey Banks

Hailey Alohilani Banks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hailey_banks___profile2.png
"So that's me, Hailey Banks. Here to save the world... someday."

Voiced by: Auli'i Cravalho

A risk-averse teenager tasked with completing her incredibly long to-do list to save the world.

  • Action Girl: In the first episode, she's able to handle taking on a Chaos Bot.
  • Animal Lover: She is shown to value animals, especially birds. She even has a pet flamingo named Frank and is very fond of him.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: Wears red glasses and is a cute girl.
  • Blind Without 'Em: She has nearsightedness and wears glasses. In "The Umpire Strikes Back", she is shown to be this when she is forced to lend her main pair of glasses to Scott.
  • Brainy Brunette: She has brown hair and can be quite resourceful. She apparently becomes a highly successful scientist in the future.
  • Can't Spit It Out: She struggles with telling Scott how she feels about him, a situation that becomes more difficult when Scott starts dating Kristine.
  • Character Development: Over the course of the series, she becomes less risk-averse and more self-confident, trying new things with little (if any) issue.
  • Characterization Marches On: Early episodes focused on her being The Ace and Only Sane Man, whose only real flaw was a lack of confidence in herself. Later episodes would tone down her skills and make her more emotionally-driven and stubborn, leading to her making more mistakes and creating obstacles for herself. She's also more prone to go along with Scott's crazier schemes without much issue, even outright approving of some of them.
  • Classical Anti-Hero: Hailey is unsure of herself, risk-averse, and has a lot of self-doubt.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Being best friends with Scott, she constantly has to point out to him when he's about to do something embarrassing. Like when his pants are on backwards. She also knows about all of Scott's habits and will try to keep from triggering his more embarrassing ones in public.
  • Deadpan Snarker: While she's typically nice, she can get quite sarcastic when pushed. Narrator Hailey has more of a tendency to do this.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Downplayed. While she never hated Kristine, she was annoyed by her quirks and overly upbeat attitude. Starting with "Road Trippin'", she has become much closer and supportive to Kristine, even asking her for help on occasion.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Scott's sister Becker gains a crush on her at the end of "Catching Felines" after misunderstanding her friendly disposition as her flirting with her. Later subverted when Becker "breaks up" with her when she believes that Hailey is becoming too clingy.
  • Honor Before Reason: In "Kissed Opportunities", a party game gives her the perfect opportunity to kiss Scott without any possible negative consequences. But she declines to go through with it, deciding that kissing Scott must be her choice.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Hailey heavily resembles her voice actress, barring the ponytail and glasses.
  • Insecure Protagonist, Arrogant Antagonist: While Hailey is very insecure about her own abilities, A.C. is extremely arrogant and tends to flaunt his own skills. This makes A.C. a foil to Hailey in many ways.
  • Jerkass Ball: Downplayed. While she can be rather selfish and controlling on occasion, she never means any actual harm and will always do her best to make things right.
  • Nerd Glasses: She wears a pair of red cat-eye glasses and is a nerd, being an avid fan of superhero comics and knowing a lot about various types of birds.
  • Nice Girl: Though not without her faults, Hailey is generally sweet, friendly, and supportive. Even when she screws up, she does her best to make things right.
  • No Social Skills: To a lesser degree than Scott, but she is shown to have social anxiety and has some difficulty engaging in conversations with others.
  • Oblivious to Love: She is unaware of Becker's crush on her, although it doesn't take long for Becker to lose interest in her.
  • Ridiculously Successful Future Self: Completing her list will set in motion a sequence of events that leads to Hailey inventing a device that will reverse the effects of climate change. This makes her a hero to the entire world. Among other things, Future Hailey has also invented a fully renewable and non-polluting fuel source known as "Haileytonium", a Growth-and-Shrink Ray and developed a codebase for Artifical Intelligient systems with nigh-human sentience.
  • Rough Overalls: Hailey Bank's main outfit consist of a pair of overalls held by one strap, as it goes with her socially awkward personality as a Tomboy and a future inventor. Flashbacks show that since been wearing overalls since she was a little girl.
  • Self-Serving Memory:
    • In "The A-Maize-Ing Maze", she claims that whenever she and Scott try to solve a maze, Scott always gets them lost. Despite this, an attempt to complete a maze without Scott gets Hailey and Beta hopelessly lost. When the two are finally rescued, Scott reveals that it is Hailey herself who always gets them lost (to Beta's extreme annoyance).
    • An inverted example in "Lady and the Trampoline", where Hailey has a noir-styled flashback of the time she went to Trampoline Town for Jenna and Brenna Kurpatwinski's birthday party. In her retelling, Hailey was mocked by Jenna, Brenna, and their friend Terry Kline for sweating, ending up fleeing the scene out of shame. It's later revealed that they were actually being encouraging, but Hailey's own insecurities about herself being sweaty ended up warping her own view of the events.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: While she is already cute-looking, she looks quite stunning when she dresses up for special events like Kristine's 15th birthday party.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: She has shades of social anxiety, sometimes getting nervous around others.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: Hailey's self-loathing also causes her to have a cynical view of others.
  • Specs of Awesome: She is capable of performing impressive feats, and she wears glasses.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Tomboy to Kristine's Girly Girl. The contrast is best shown in "Road-Trippin'", where Hailey gleefully partakes in a game of "Punch Buggy" with Scott, while Kristine greatly dislikes the game's physical aspect.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail. She is quite the tomboy who wears a white t-shirt with red sleeves covered in overalls and has a long ponytail to boot.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Hailey is quite the tomboy who wears a t-shirt and overalls as her go-to outfit, has a Tomboyish Ponytail, likes rough games like Punch Buggy, reads superhero comics, and readily accepts the role of a cowgirl. She also dresses up for special events, auditions for cheerleading, loves boy bands, watches the overly saccharine The Puffles, values birdhouses (and crafts them herself), and has a soft spot for animals.
  • Town Girls: The Neither to The Professor's Butch and Kristine's Femme
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: She has a strained relationship with her mother, and has always sought her approval. This culminates in "Bringing Home the Beacon", where she tries (and fails) to fix the family lighthouse, and admits the reason why she did so was to not be seen as a disappointment by her. After she finally gets her approval, their relationship begins to improve.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: The main message of the show. She always has doubts about her ability to do things, but by the end of the episode, she learns that she can do it.

    Scott Denoga

Scott Denoga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scott_denoga___profile.png

Voiced by: Manny Jacinto

Hailey's best friend whom she secretly has a crush on.

  • Cloudcuckoolander: He has some pretty out-there ideas. For example, his new year's resolution was to film his own parkour fail videos.
  • The Cloudcuckoolander Was Right: Scott has a surprising ability to State The Simple Solution. For example, when Hailey says she was going to invent something to flip the couch and shake it to get all the loose change, Scott suggests instead to simply use a vacuum cleaner to get the change, which Hailey says is actually pretty smart.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: He's a bit of a dunce, and he has two girls in love with him.
  • Disappeared Dad: His and Becker's father is not seen or mentioned as their mother is the only parent that is seen throughout the show so far. This makes fans assume that Sunny is either widowed or divorced.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: He has his moments. In "The A-Maize-Ing Maze", he correctly points out that Hailey (not him) is the one who always gets them lost in corn mazes.
  • Enter Stage Window: Appears at Hailey's bedroom window in the opening theme song (though he gets it slammed in his face by Hailey herself), this is his usual way of getting into Hailey's house as shown in various episodes.
  • Failed a Spot Check: A Running Gag is that he sometimes fails to notice/realize certain details even when it's plainly obvious.
  • Fleeting Passionate Hobbies: "Cubix Dudes" shows that he has a habit of getting into some hobby, then losing interest quickly.
  • Genius Ditz: He's really good at solving cube puzzles.
    • He was also somehow able to organize the wiring to The Professor's generators because according to him "It's wired how my mind thinks." Beta, Hailey and The Professor stare in slack-jawed shock. Mainly because it actually works! He also can use The Professor's high-tech smartphone, which Hailey was having an impossible time using because she was overthinking it.
  • Hair Reboot: Hailey once gives him an awful haircut that leaves large areas completely shaven and he effortlessly styles it back to his usual look with the remaining patches. Hailey and Beta both end up staring in slack-jawed shock.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: He is not the brightest bulb, but he is unfailingly friendly and helpful to others.
  • Nice Guy: Scott doesn't have a single bad bone in his body and is always there to support his friends.
  • Not Me This Time: His buffoonish nature has often caused problems for the group, and in "The A-Maize-Ing Maze", he was accused of getting the group lost in every corn maze attraction. Turns out to not to be case; Hailey (as pointed out by Scott himself) is actually the one responsible for them always getting lost in the first place.
  • No Social Skills: His inability to remain consistent and sophisticated tends to get on everyone else's nerves (Beta in particular).
  • Wearing It All Wrong: Scott has a habit of putting his clothes on backwards.

    Beta

Beta

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beta___profile.png

Voiced by: Gary Anthony Williams

An advanced AI sent from the future to help Hailey complete her list.

  • Badass Adorable: He's in the body of a teddy bear.
  • Benevolent A.I.: While grumpy, his mission is to aid Hailey by accounting for every item on her list.
  • Berate and Switch: In "Scott's on a Roll", Beta calls out how cold it was for Hailey to betray Scott, immediately before saying he was proud of her for doing so.
  • Catchphrase:
    • "Get yoked!"
    • To a lesser degree and unwillingly whenever his chest is pressed, "I wuv you."
    • He also has a tendency to call people he looks down on (like Scott) "Buffoons".
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has a very sharp wit, which Scott often ends up on the receiving end of.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: He is constantly irritated by Scott's foolish and careless behavior. Some episodes imply he wouldn't mind it if Scott was gone, if not dead.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He may not like Scott, but in "Scott's on a Roll" when Hailey apparently betrays Scott by proposing a team-up with A.C., Beta notes how cold it is of her to do so. Subverted when he claims to be proud of her for doing so.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: When Beta meets Alphred, he becomes convinced that Alphred is a Chaos Bot spy out of jealousy over the love he gets from everybody else along with the fact that Alfred looks through various things.
  • Jerkass to One: While sarcastic in general, he really doesn't like Scott. Most of his snarkiness and meanness is reserved specifically for him, mocking Scott constantly. Not to mention that when Hailey accidentally gave Scott a horrible haircut, he got disappointed that Scott was easily able to fix it, as Beta wanted to make more fun of him. In "The A-maize-ing Maze", Beta flat out says he despises Scott.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He may be snarky and sarcastic, he does truly care for Hailey and would do anything to help her accomplish her to-do list.
  • Shipper with an Agenda: Beta wants Scott and Hailey to kiss because that's one of the points on the list. Downplayed, in that he doesn't like Scott and doesn't truly understand human relationship so he's undifferent to the two dating each other.
  • Silicon Snarker: He IS ONE mouthy little machine.
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: Beta finds Scott pretty annoying.
  • We Want Our Jerk Back!: When Hailey loses Beta in "U.F. Whoa!", she insists on getting him back even though the Professor pops in to give her Omega, an AI in every way superior to Beta and much nicer than him.

Oceanside High School

    Kristine Sanchez

Kristine Sanchez

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kristine_sanchez___profile_8.png

Voiced by: Amanda Leighton

The most popular girl in school, and a (relatively) big influencer who's also genuinely nice, who becomes Scott's girlfriend in the first episode.

  • Big Beautiful Woman: She has a curvy build, is undeniably gorgeous and is quite popular with the students at school.
  • Class Princess: Kristine is Ms. Perfect, and the fact that she's also genuinely nice only makes her more annoying to Hailey. It doesn't help that she's the one to end up dating Scott when Hailey awkwardly gives her her blessing in the pilot, and after she earlier commented that Hailey and he would make a cute couple, no less.
  • Nice Girl: Often friendly and polite to others. Although she's not above deliberately trying to make Scott jealous by hanging out with another guy when she feels their relationship slipping.
  • Phoneaholic Teenager: She spends a lot of time on her phone. She has a lot of phones with her.
  • Put on a Bus: In "U.F. Whoa!", Kristine breaks up with Scott after she joins a reality competition. Her appearances since then have been scarce, having a brief but pivotal appearance in "Seas the Day", a major role in "Leather Jacket Hailey" through the Hat House competition, and a brief flashback cameo in "We Wish You a Merry Chaos-Mas".
  • Romantic False Lead: Though set up as a love triangle rival for Hailey with Scott, the two’s lack of shared interests and compatibility compared to Scott and Hailey’s friendship, particularly as Scott declines to help Kristine with her hat show audition in favor of tracking Chaos Bots with Hailey, causes the pairing to burn out just as quickly as it started when Kristine dumps Scott ten episodes after they got together.
  • Signature Headgear: Almost always never seen without the hat she wears; in fact, she's borderline obsessed with them and has even written a hat-themed musical.
  • Squee: Does this whenever she's excited, as a high-pitched "EEEE!!!"
  • Stylish Sunhats: Kristine is always seen wearing a hat, most commonly one of these. It goes hand in hand with her Lovable Alpha Bitch status.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Girly Girl to Hailey's Tomboy. The contrast is best shown in "Road-Trippin'", where Hailey gleefully partakes in a game of "Punch Buggy" with Scott, while Kristine greatly dislikes the game's physical aspect.
  • Town Girls: The Femme to The Professor's Butch and Hailey's Neither.
  • Younger Than They Look: Kristine is in the same age range as Hailey and Scott, being 14 before the events of "Kristine-ceañera", but her height, wider frame and more developed body structure compared to them makes her come across as either being in her late teens or even a young adult.

    A.C. Aychvak

A.C. Aychvak

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ac_aychvak___profile.png

Voiced by: Josh Brener

Hailey's self-proclaimed academic rival.

  • Always Someone Better: Feels this way about Hailey, and has thus made it his mission to one-up her in everything he can.
  • Amazon Chaser: In "Smells Like Queen Spirit", after he witnesses Joanne Droid kick down the door, his response is "I think I'm in love." In fact throughout the whole episode, he gets more attracted to her through her unnatural ways. Though this fades after Joanne helps Hailey against the giant Chaos Bot.
  • Character Catchphrase: "What the beans?"
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: In the sandcastle contest, he buries a bunch of tools to help himself and sabotage the competition, but still loses because Hailey's dad builds a tiny but reinforced sandcastle that survives his small war with Hailey. In the escape room, he memorizes a walkthrough for the first room, not expecting that there was also a second room, which forces him to admit he doesn't actually know what he's doing.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: He dedicated himself to besting Hailey after she beat him at a game of "Duck, Duck, Goose".
  • Insecure Protagonist, Arrogant Antagonist: While Hailey is very insecure about her own abilities, A.C. is extremely arrogant and tends to flaunt his own skills. This makes A.C. a foil to Hailey in many ways.
  • Long List: He has a gigantic list that he uses to keep score of his and Hailey's rivalry, which is several meters long.
  • Moral Myopia: In "The Last Sand", he reacts with outrage when Hailey deflects his first attempt at cheating.
  • The Napoleon: In "Cubix Dudes", he makes a point of having his personalized autograph mention how "tall" he is — multiple times.
  • Not Me This Time: In "The Saw-shank Redemption", Hailey, Scott, and the other teens who ended up in detention think that he intentionally sabotaged them and got them sent there on the day of the kite festival so that he could eliminate some of the competition and win a ribbon. It turns out he actually only wanted to watch the festival and not take part, and his laughter at the incidents that got them detention just happened to sound smug. Those incidents were actually caused by the same teacher who gave them detention so that he could take part in the festival and win a ribbon himself.
  • Offended by an Inferior's Success: At the end of "The Fart of War", he is outraged to learn that the Dingles can he gave Scott as part of their "contract" contained a prize, and that Scott is currently being interviewed on TV for it.
  • Older Than They Look: He is the same age as Hailey and Scott but looks like a middle-schooler.
  • One Sided Rivalry: He declares himself Hailey's "bitter rival". Hailey doesn't return the feeling.
  • Only Known by Initials: It has yet to be revealed what A.C. stands for; even his mother calls him by his initials rather than his first name.
  • Punny Name: His name refers to the technologies of "heating, ventilation, and air conditioning".
  • The Rival: What he sees himself as, although Hailey couldn't care less about the supposed rivalry.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: He is legitimately talented at mathematics and robotics, and is rather short.
  • Stealing the Credit: In "The Fart of War", he pretends that he and Scott came up with Scott's app idea together, solely so he can take some of the success for himself.

    Becker Denoga

Rebecca "Becker" Denoga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/becker_denoga___profile_3.png

Voiced by: Judy Alice Lee

Scott's younger sister, who loves breaking things.

  • Butch Lesbian: She is very tomboyish and likes to destroy things. In "Catching the Felines", she develops a crush on Hailey. And in "Along for the Slide", after she perceives Hailey as being too clingy, she develops a relationship with her former rival, Kennedy.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Rivals Beta in the snark department.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her and Scott's dad has not been seen or mentioned so far. This must mean that their mom is either widowed or divorced before the start of the series.
  • Hopeless Suitor: She gets a crush on Hailey after mistaking her friendship for attraction. In "Along for the Slide", she changes her mind after thinking that Hailey is too clingy, a result of Dwayne and Johnson playing with her phone and sending gifts to Becker by accident.
  • Hypocritical Humor: She takes issue with Hailey thinking she would do something so foolish as to deliver actual wildcats to Hailey instead of the WildKat sneakers Hailey asked for, then immediately undercuts herself by noting how metal that sounds once she says it out loud.
  • Nice Girl: Despite her thrill-seeking and troublemaking tendencies, she is generally easy to get along with.
  • Odd Name Out: Her circle of friends includes guys named Buzzsaw, Bonesaw, Chainsaw, and Paul. According to Scott, Paul is the worst of them all.
  • Opposites Attract: The troublemaking Becker enters into a relationship with the safety-oriented Kennedy.
  • Token Evil Teammate: A friend to Hailey and Scott, despite her tendencies toward vandalism and even stealing.
"If by 'vintage' you mean 'stolen', then yes."

    Kennedy

Kennedy

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haileysonit_kennedy.png
"Like I always say, nothing good ever happens after 8 p.m."

Voiced by Shara Kirby

The school hall monitor, and a part-time assistant park ranger.

  • The Ace: She is extremely competent, capable of performing amazing feats even when her peers aren't doing too well. She isn't a part-time assistant park ranger and junior assistant to a private detective for nothing.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Is ready for just about every contingency.
  • Iconic Outfit: Or iconic alternative outfit. Kennedy's most iconic outfit so far remaigns her assistant park ranger outfit as opposed to her default outfit.
  • Opposites Attract: The safety-oriented Kennedy enters into a relationship with the troublemaking Becker.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: To Becker, due to her enforcement of the school rules. She has a reason for singling her out, though...

    Thad and Jonathan

Thad and Jonathan

Voiced by: Nik Dodani (Thad) and Nico Santos (Jonathan)

Two classmates of Hailey and Scott.

  • Camp Gay: In "In Kristine-ceanera", they are dancing with each other. In "Flipping Out", they dressed in pink in their cheerleader outfits and as part of Kristine's cheerleading squad. "In a Pinch" officially reveals they are a couple.
  • Purely Aesthetic Glasses: In "Kissed Opportunities", Thad's glasses are revealed to be this. According to Jonathan, he has perfect vision and he wears them only for fashion.
  • Those Two Guys: They're very close to each other.

    Lucy Morgan

Lucy Morgan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haileysonit_lucy.png

Voiced by: Sidney Mikayla

Classmate of Hailey and Scott.

  • Born Unlucky: She is very accident-prone, to the point where she was nicknamed "Unlucky Lucy". Notably, she broke both her arms from an accident involving marbles Hailey inadvertently caused during a cheerleading session.
  • Butt-Monkey: She has an almost supernatural tendency to get into accidents, even having her previously broken arm re-broken accidentally by Hailey in "I Know What You Did Last Slumber".
  • Major Injury Underreaction: In "Flippin Out", Lucy reassures that she doesn't hold a grudge against Hailey for causing an accident that broke both of her arms and that she'd be fine... after several months of extensive physical therapy.
  • Shipper on Deck: In "Kissed Opportunities", she chants with the rest of the partygoers as Hailey and Scott lean in to kiss, and boos them when Hailey decides she simply doesn't want to.
  • Queer Establishing Moment: She's seen dancing with another girl in "Kristine-ceañera".

The Banks Family

    Kai Banks

Kai Banks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kai_banks___profile.png

Voiced by: Cooper Andrews

Hailey's father.

  • Househusband: Implied; Flashbacks show him being the one who mainly took care of Hailey, he doesn't seem to have a job in the present and he also is the one shown taking care of Dwayne and Johnson in the present.
  • Bumbling Dad: He can be clumsy at times, but is ultimately well-meaning. Downplayed as he avoids the problematic aspects of the trope.
  • Good Parents: He tends to dispense valuable lessons towards Hailey, and is generally much nicer to her.
  • Parent-Child Team: Forms one with Hailey in "The Last Sand", where they enter a sandcastle-building contest. According to Hailey, this has been a time-honored tradition for the two of them.
  • Family of Choice: Considers his group of friends to be his brothers, enough to the point that Hailey even refers to all of them as her Uncles.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: In "Beta'd and Hooked", he quickly changes positions while Hailey and Scott's backs are turned.

    Patricia Banks

Patricia Banks

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/patricia_banks___profile.png

Voiced by: Julie Bowen

Hailey's mother. A real estate agent.

  • Animals Hate Him: A Flashback in "The Flamingo Must Flamin-Go" shows her being attacked by multiple animals for no real reason. (Unless it was just to get some of the delicious ice cream she was holding.)
  • Big Eater: Shows some shades of this.
  • Common Law Marriage: In 2001: A Spouse Odyssey it's revealed that because she accidentally never mailed their wedding certificate, she and Kai have been this the whole time, at least until Hailey can throw her parents another wedding. And then their new wedding certificate falls out of Scott's pocket in the attic and he and Hailey both forget about it...
  • In-Series Nickname: During her teenage years, she was known as "Radical" and was featured in 47 music videos.
  • Parents as People: She and her daughter have a strained relationship. This changes in "Bringing Home the Beacon", she admits that the reason why she wanted to sell the lighthouse was because she was ashamed of it, and finally gives Hailey her approval.
  • Totally Radical: Invoked in "The Flamingo Must Flamin-Go", where she dresses up in "swag" in order to sell the Swag Bros' mansion. However, she only does it in an attempt to appear hip to the two aforementioned clients, and ditches it when she has a Be Yourself moment.

    Dwayne & Johnson Banks
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dwayne_and_johnson_banks___profile.png

Hailey's younger brothers.

    Chuck Banks

Chuck "Uncle Chunk" Banks

Voiced by: Dallas Goldtooth

Kai's brother and Hailey's uncle. Owns a boat despite hating everything about the sea.

    Frank the Flamingo

Frank Banks

Voiced by: Dee Bradley Baker

The Banks Family's pet flamingo.

  • Berserk Button: When he feels a member of the Banks family is being threatened, all hell breaks loose.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He used to be owned by an unscrupulous and demanding trainer called Chuck Power, and was separated from the love of his life and sent to the animal shelter for not being serious or competent enough. Even at the animal shelter, he was unwanted and viewed as a burden until Hailey came along.
  • Gasshole: Is a chronic farter, which grosses out anyone who notices it.
  • Opposites Attract: The scruffy and unkempt Frank enters a relationship with the elegant and dignified peacock Petey.
  • Straight Gay: He is the first non-anthropomorphic animal character in a Disney Production to be gay, and is far from flamboyant.
  • Troublesome Pet: He's one to Hailey in his debut episode. Molting constantly, coughing up slimy featherballs and going into a feeding frenzy when he smells shrimp, he becomes a nuisance to the family. Unlike most examples, Frank narrowly avoids being returned to the animal shelter and remains the family's pet throughout the series.

The Future

    The Professor

The Professor

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_professor___profile.png

  • Big Damn Heroes: She shows up just in time to stop the Chaos Bots from destroying Hailey's list in the pilot.
  • Clark Kent Outfit: A female example. "When Squeeples Attack" shows that she has a very muscular body underneath her lab coat.
  • Cyborg: Her left leg, right arm and right eye are mechanical.
  • Labcoat of Science and Medicine: She wears one to denominate her as a professor from the future.
  • No Name Given: Her real name has yet to be revealed.
  • The Prankster: In "We Wish You a Merry Chaos-mas" it's revealed that she's a fan of pulling pranks and the Running Gag of her getting pulled back into the time portal whenever she's supposedly about to give Hailey jackpot numbers is one of them.
  • Rugged Scar: She has a scar over her left eye for reasons yet to be revealed, but she's extremely experienced with her studies and time travel.
  • Tank-Top Tomboy: Wears a maroon tank top under her lab coat, and is very masculine and rowdy.
  • Town Girls: The Butch to Kristine's Femme and Hailey's Neither.
  • Troll: It's revealed in "We Wish You a Merry Chaos-mas" that her Running Gag of returning to the future before she can tell Hailey the winning lottery numbers is a joke she plays whenever she goes to Hailey's time.

    Chaos Bots

Chaos Bots

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/haileysonit_chaosbot_updated.png
"CHAOS!"

Malicious robots sent from the future to stop Hailey completing her list.

  • Freaky Electronic Music: Their Leitmotif is a piece of foreboding electronic music which establishes them as the mysterious and technological threat that they are.
  • The Heavy: They're the most recurring threat, but their creator is the one sending them.
  • One-Word Vocabulary: The only word they speak is "Chaos!"
  • Mysterious Past: It is currently unknown who created the Chaos Bots and why that creator would want to stop Hailey from saving the world.

    Omega

Omega

Voiced by: Keith Ferguson

An advanced AI who was made to be better than Beta in every way. Briefly given to Hailey when Beta is captured.

  • Benevolent A.I.: Just like Beta, Omega is there to help Hailey.
  • But Now I Must Go: After the team saves Beta, the Professor comes to tell Hailey she has to give back one of the AIs as she can't have two. Hailey chooses Beta, so Omega has to go back. He is shown to be content with her choice and tells her they will get the chance to meet again in 50 years.
  • Flight: Omega can float around and has the power to make bicycles fly, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial-style.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: Omega accompanies Hailey and Scott in their quest to save Beta from N.O.P.E. After that, he returns to the Professor.
  • Superior Successor: Omega was made to be better than Beta in every way, including being less of a jerk.

Oceanside Residents

    Sunny Denoga

Sunny Denoga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sunny_denoga___profile.png

Voiced by: Joy Osmanski

Scott and Becker's mother.

  • Shameless Self-Promoter: Whenever she is being filmed or recorded, she never hesitates to promote "U.F. Dough", the restaurant she owns and operates.
  • Struggling Single Mother: Averted: She is shown to be perfectly fine managing U.F. Dough on her own. Although, the restaurant had received negative feedback in one episode. Despite that, Sunny always finds a way to make sure her establishment is still running.

    Bill Board

Bill Board

Voiced by: Carlos Alazraqui

A financially unstable business magnate.

  • Expy: Of Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome, as he is an eccentric Texas-accented mogul who seems to own everything in town.

  • Celebrity Paradox: Weird Al shows up in-universe in “Bad Bear Day” in a PSA warning against using honey-based hair gel, meaning Chip Dingle co-exists with his VA.
  • The Wonka: As a parody of the man himself, Chip Dingle is just as eccentric and bombastic as his inspiration.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is Chip Dingle, and he owns the Dingles brand of potato chips.

Other Characters

    Joanne Droid

Joanne Droid

Voiced by: Erica Lindbeck

An eccentric Canadian who takes part in a contest to become Crab Queen. Not actually an evil robot, despite Hailey's justifiable suspicions.

  • Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: She has an inhuman level of double jointedness that allows her an uncanny crab walk.
  • Absurd Phobia: She panics when she is almost splashed with water, likely due to being a robot. However, as she is revealed to actually be human, that means this really is just an absurd phobia.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: Since she's not actually an android, many of Joanne's insane feats of strength throughout the episode (ex. kicking down doors, climbing up walls, being able to hold down a giant Chaos Bot) can be chalked up to this trope.
  • Deceptively Human Robots: Subverted. She is assumed to be a Chaos Bot in disguise, but after Beta decides to pay for the subscription fully understand Chaos Bots, it's revealed she was Human All Along and not the Chaos Bot spy the group were hunting.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After Hailey earns the title of Crab Queen, she decides to share the title with Joanne.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is Joanne Droid, which as Hailey points out is on the nose toward her being a Chaos Bot spy. Subverted when she is revealed to be Human All Along and thus instead making it an Ironic Name.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's hard to talk about her without going into detail of the twist behind her.

    DAS B3AT

Olga and Frederix / DAS B3AT

Voiced by: Eden Riegel (Olga), Robbie Daymond (Frederix)

A pair of musicians who show up in "Splatter of the Bands". They are an artistic group who are also perfectionists, they have a tendency to do multiple takes for practice but their end results have a tendency to be confusing and bizarre. They were originally contestants in an Oceanside version of America's Got Talent.

  • Coordinated Clothes: They are a man and woman who wear white tops with light pink vests and matching white pants. Hailey also had to dress identically when she was practicing with them.
  • Letters 2 Numbers: Their name is styled this way, with a 3 replacing the "E" in "BEAT".
  • The Perfectionist: According to Hailey, when they were practicing for Splatter of the Bands, DAS B3AT insisted on doing roughly a million takes, and they were practicing well into the morning. The reason they wanted Hailey in their group in the first place is because her vocals were perfect for the song they were working on and they wouldn't accept anyone else because they weren't 'perfect' enough. They even looked down upon the group Hailey was originally with because that group focused more on having fun than giving a perfect performance.
  • True Art Is Incomprehensible: Firm believers of this if their end results are any indication. In Splatter Of The Bands their song was about fish skin and they had dancers in fish suits providing backup dancing; but that's nothing compared to their Christmas performance where they slapped themselves in the face with Christmas colored fish, repeatedly!

"Clean home, clear mind!"

Voiced by: Gideon Emery

A cleaning robot owned by Patricia's company.

  • Luke, I Am Your Father: The end of Alphred's episode reveals him to be a predecessor to Beta with him outright calling himself Beta's father.
  • Punny Name: His name is a play on Alfred and "Alpha", befitting how he is both essentially a robot butler of sorts and Beta's predecessor.
