Headscratchers / Hailey's On It!

  • Who created the Chaos Bots and why would their creator be bent on preventing Hailey from stopping climate change and letting the world be destroyed?
    • We're just gonna have to watch the rest of the show to find out.
    • A green energy industry? If a simple and cheap way of decarbonizing could be implemented to stop climate change, then nobody would be interested in spending additional money on zero-carbon power sources. Considering how much money is made in this sector now, such an invention could REALLY displease a lot of rich & powerful people, who would be willing to mess with the timeline to avoid it.
      • Or more likely, the Fossil Fuel Industry, though for probably the same reasons.
      • Fossil fuel industry would only benefit from such device - all those concerns about global warming would be swept away.
      • On the other hand, it was revealed in "U. F. Whoa!" that Hailey had invented a renewable energy source, which is something that would probably put the fossil fuel industry out of business... but that same source is what powers the Chaos Bots, so any time change that stops that from getting invented would also stop the bots, which is a paradox.
    • The bots seem surprisingly easy to defeat, so whoever created them is either pretty incompetent or made them purposely fail because they're just there to give Hailey a challenge to get her active and motivated, not to actually sabotage her.
  • According to the Professor, Hailey and Scott kissing will be key to saving the world. But what will occur for that to happen? I don't think she ever specified.
  • There are two "#167" entries in Hailey's list, winning the sandcastle building contest and the crab queen crown. Apparently the Universe Bible has a glitch in it, or to suggest an in-universe explanation, Hailey was a bit careless in writing down her list entries.
  • Kristine and Hailey have referred to each other as friends ("BFFs" in Kristine's case), so the list item for "Catching Felines" should already be complete.
    • I think the point there is for Hailey to put in the effort. Kristine is more by association.
    • The first episode is titled "The Beginning of the Friend", which seems to be referring to Kristine (it doesn't seem to refer to Scott, since he's been friends with Hailey long before that episode).
    • Furthermore, Hailey in "Catching Felines" acts like she finds Kristine too annoying to consider for friendship, when there's been no hint of her feeling that way about her before. The opposite, if anything.
    • And at the end of "Road Trippin'" Hailey and Kristine hug and say "Friends!".
    • Production secretary Camille Bautista confirms that "Catching Felines" is Out of Order and is intended to be before "Road Trippin'".
      • That makes more sense, thanks.
  • In the first episode, the Chaos Bots try to put Hailey's list into a paper shredder, damaging the lower right corner of the book; subsequently, when the book is shown, it has damage to that corner (the future version from the Smithsonian that the Professor shows Hailey is consistent with that too). However, in "Bringing Home the Beacon", the book doesn't have that corner damage; this is a continuity glitch.
  • Why does Beta hate Scott so much, exactly?
    • To put it in Beta's words, he thinks Scott is a "buffoon". Scott's general stupidity and clumsiness likely offend Beta's calm and orderly nature. To put it another way, they're very different from each other, which understandably leads to friction on Beta's part.
  • Why did Beta reveal himself to Alphred? It could have meant trouble if Alphred told Patricia about him.
