The "white faction", also known as Paradeus, is a mysterious faction consisting of an army of stark-white cyborgs led by seemingly-identical female dolls, all apparently headed by by a mysterious figure they call "Father". They first play a central role in the Continuum Turbulence event where they kidnap and interrogate the Commander. It's later revealed that they are connected to 90wish as their "Father" is William, Big Bad of Codename Bakery Girl and former 90wish member.

    General Tropes
  • Big Bad: After Sangvis Ferri is reduced to non-fighting strength and KCCO leadership is disavowed by the rest of Soviet Union military forces, Paradeus steps up to take the main antagonist faction mantle in Dual Randomness. While KCCO under Carter makes a comeback during Poincare Recurrence, it's clear that Paradeus is the most powerful faction left among the Big Bad Ensemble.
  • Chekhov's Gun: When the Commander first comes face-to-face with their unknown captors in the Continuum Turbulence event (specifically, a trio of Nyto Black models), they say that their faces look familiar, seemingly at random. It's later revealed in the Polarized Light event that the Nytos' design was influenced by Lunasia, much like M4's was.
  • Cult: With their recruitment method and units being powered by the faith of the people, RO can't help but to call them a cult. K agrees with her assessment.
  • Cyborg: In contrast to G&K/SF dolls (whose appearances are meant to replicate human beings) and KCCO units (who eschews lifelike exteriors in favor of utilitarian designs), several the White Faction units combine human-like features with overt mechanical parts. It was later revealed that they are partially made from real human beings.
  • Deflector Shields: Most White Faction units, including all of their bosses, come with shields that which function differently than the "Force Shield" seen on many SF bosses, and (prior to Op CT) on MP5, Thompson and G36C (Unit is invulnerable during the shield's duration), and the HP shields found on Agent, Shield Fairy, and SAT-8 (Unit invulnerable until shield expires or is destroyed). They differ from the former in that the shield reduces incoming damage based on the percentage of it remaining, which also applies to the shield itselfnote , and require Fire Support Teams to defeat said shieldingnote .
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": According to Mercurows and Nimogen, "Nyto" is a generic name referring to all mass-produced clones forming the core of Paradeus's forces. Alternatively, it is also considered a mark of great shame, as those deemed worthy by the "Father" are given actual names, When referred to as a Nyto by RO635 in Shattered Connexion, Nimogen was instantly disgusted and asserted that she should not be blatantly called an inferior classification.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: For the EN and JP versions. White Faction units appear as enemies during the VA-11 HALL-A crossover event, despite neither them nor KCCO having been officially introduced for those servers at the time. As a consequence, the White Faction units that appear in the the event are treated in-story, exclusively for the EN and JP versions, as part of the White Knights. Even after said event, they continue to show up in Expeditions as strong enemies that the expedition team retreats from.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Paradeus' ranks might be significantly more vile than those of Sangvis Ferri and KCCO, but they are also more tightly nit than the other two, treating eachother as family as opposed to friends or comrades in arms. This doesn't quite extend to the mooks, but even the nameless Isomers and Nytos show a surprising amount of compassion towards one another.
  • Eviler than Thou: Their regular curbstomping of S.F. in battle and casual manipulation of KCCO cements that Paradeus is the ultimate antagonist of Girl's Frontline.
  • Line-of-Sight Name: Griffin calls them the White Faction because of the white armor their units field. When the Commander's informant in the Isomer event finally identifies them as Paradeus, they lampshade how dumb "White Faction" sounded in hindsight and wonders aloud who actually popularized it.
  • La Résistance: The human members style themselves as this. They believe that the world governments are abandoning the people living in less-protected areas, and are willing to take any measure in order to pursue their goals. In reality, they are just as much puppets as the robotic units.
  • Heel–Face Turn: The dialogue that protocol-assimilated Nytos have suggest that the elite Paradeus units that we use weren't subjected to Heel–Face Brainwashing, but defected of their own will, presumably due to not liking William for discarding them.
  • Human Resources: They recruit followers by promising salvation for the ELID-stricken people who live in Red and Yellow Zones. The less-lucky ones are chopped up and have their remains crammed inside war machines.
  • Meaningful Name: "Para" is a prefix that can mean either "near" or "resembling something", while "Deus" is Latin for "God". Taken together, their name means "Near God" or "Resembling God", which aligns with William's goal to create a Precursor/Human hybrid and take control of hyper-advanced Relic technology.
  • Nominal Importance: Invoked. Black Nytos are generic, mass-produced units, and so aren't given names until they have proven their worth to the Paradeus' cause. Named Nytos are very protective of their newfound individuality; even suggesting that they're similar to generic Nytos is enough to set them off. The Nytos who defect to Griffin (Anna, Adeline, and Alina) name themselves because of this.
  • Outside-Context Problem: While Sangvis Ferri has been around since the start of the game and the military was acknowledged as fighting S.F. since the start of the story, Paradeus showed up out of the blue in Continuum Turbulence to make things difficult for Griffin and Kryuger. They're the only major faction who has no direct relation to the Butterfly Incident, and it takes a few years for their motives to finally come into focus.
  • Technologically Advanced Foe: Downplayed in that some of their technologies (such as Deflector Shields) are also fielded by other factions, but the White Faction makes a far more liberal use of superior versions of those technologies.
  • Theme Naming: Their mooks are named after Medieval European military units. With the exception of the Strelet, however, every other name may look like a Non-Indicative Name, but they do share some similarities to their historical namesakes (Uhlans are mechanized cavalry, Doppelsoldners break enemy formations with explosive barrages, Rodeleros' shields allude to the rodela, etc.)
  • They Look Like Us Now: The first White Faction units shown, including the Nytos, are very obviously inhuman. Fast Forward to Isomer, and Paradeus is revealed to have deployed infiltrators within Belgrade who are almost indistinguishable from normal humans, and their Nytos look harmless enough to blend in a crowd. Morridow takes this even further. As a next generation of Paradeus unit even more advanced than Nytos, absolutely no one except Angie ever suspect her identity, and even then it took her almost the entirety of Dual Randomness to deduce it.
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: Shattered Connexion reveals that Paradeus uses the abandoned city of Tallinn as a sort of holding area for failed Nytos. Nimogen is one of the unlucky Nytos sent there after Isomer.
  • Stronger Than They Look: As far as their stats go, anyway. Some types of White Faction units (e.g. Rodelero, Doppelsoldner,...) have deceptively manageable firepower stats, but in actuality deal much higher damage than the values would indicate, due to their attacks hitting all dummies on linked T-Dolls at once instead of chipping at their shared HP.
  • Uncertain Doom: Grig, Morridow, and Brahmedb are last seen in Avernus shortly before it is carpet bombed into oblivion, leaving their fates unknown. Given that Grig was added to the Protocol Assimilation roster, though, it's likely they somehow survived.
  • Universal-Adaptor Cast: As noted in Early-Bird Cameo, they're conveniently-colored stand-ins for the corrupt White Knights in the VA-11 HALL-A event's setting. Anna Graem, the Final Boss, is also represented by the vaguely similar-looking White Faction bosses Nyto Obelisk and Nyto Polarday despite canonically having no affiliation with the White Knights.
  • Unusual Euphemism: The Nytos refers to ELID infectees as the "baptized".
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Paradeus and their front operations are actually fairly popular among the more downtrodden people. This is partly what makes them very dangerous, as they have an extremely large pool of potential recruits to draw upon.
  • Western Terrorists: During Operation Isomer, they orchestrated an attack on a peace summit held by the UN and Soviet Republic, which was quickly thwarted by government agents. This was a decoy for their real attack, however, which involves breaching they city's walls and letting ELID rampage among the streets.

Standard Units

    Strelet
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girls_frontline_sterlet_chibi.png
Click here to see the concept art.

White Faction standard infantry dolls named after Medieval Russian foot soldiers, their role is similar to the Sangvis Ferri Vespid.
  • Mooks: The standard issue units of the White Faction, and they present a minimal threat compared to the rest of the units.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: In a different work, they would've been a super soldier of some sort. In this twisted world, they're little more than basic grunts.
  • Zerg Rush: While they lack the bells and whistles of later White Faction units, Strelets make up for this with overwhelming numbers. In any given map, their numbers per node tend to be much higher compared to Sangvis Ferri or KCCO forces of comparable power.
    Gunner

Click here to see the concept art.
Heavy gunner variant of the standard Strelet, filling the same role that the Striker does for SF.
  • Chainsaw-Grip BFG: A given, considering they're using basically reskinned Striker sprites.
  • Status Effects: They can severely weaken an echelon's survivability thanks to an accuracy and evasion debuff. A crowd of them can render SMG and HG tanks completely ineffective.
    Rodelero
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girls_frontline_rodelero_chibi_2.png
Click here to see the concept art.
White Faction armored dolls named after heavy Medieval Spanish troops, they are the first shielded unit that requires a heavy artillery squad to be taken down. Their role is similar to the Sangvis Ferri Dreamer.
  • Artificial Stupidity: They have a tendency to attack the Drone unit deployed by the Taunt Fairy first before going after the rest of your units, which mean that if you have the Taunt Fairy, you can move your units away from the middle row and watch them wasting their time attacking the Drone fruitlessly, slowing awaiting to be destroyed. Failing that, their laser attack can be baited by having a sole, preferrably fast T-Doll front and center, then moving anyone in the middle row off to the sides as soon as the Rodelero jumps.
  • Energy Weapon: They can fire a laser beam with the rifle on their right hand, hitting multiple units caught in the row.
    Doppelsoldner
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girls_frontline_doppelsoldner_chibi.png
Click here to see the concept art.
White Faction heavy armored dolls named after Medieval German swordsmen, their role is similar to the Sangvis Ferri Destroyer and Jaguar.
  • Always Accurate Attack: Both their cannons and grenades never miss, and bypass link protection, though the latter is achieved not by ignoring health gates for the dummy links, but instead by dealing damage to not only the T-Doll but also to all of her dummies at the same time. These two attributes effectively nullify the usefulness of SMG tanks, which rely on both a large health pool and high evasion for survival.
  • Grenade Spam: They can spam grenades in a similar fashion to Destroyer while bombarding the field like the Jaguar.
  • Guns Akimbo: They sport a heavy cannon on each arm that they fire in alternating volleys at the player's formation.
  • Mini-Mecha: Doppelsoldners tower over other White Faction units, and they have the toughness, firepower, and speed to match.
     Uhlan

Click here to see the concept art.
White Faction tank units named after Germanic cavalry. They are armed with missiles.
  • Odd Name Out: They are the only non-boss White Faction units to be named after cavalry, whereas the namesakes of the other known types are all infantry.
  • Car Fu: They will often try to ram against your units.
    Gladiator

Click here to see the concept art.

  • Close-Range Combatant: In contrast to the Doppelsoldner, the Gladiator's main method of attack is to walk toward your T-Dolls and hit them with a melee attack.
  • Energy Ball: Let them close enough, and they will create a massive one with their hands before slamming it down on your unfortunate dolls.
  • Deflector Shields: In addition to the standard damage reduction shield, they have the ability to repair their shield.
    Patroller

Click here to see the concept art.

  • Achilles' Heel: After you have depleted their shields, they become vulnerable to units with "Sure Hit" skills (including "Bamboo-type" rifle aimed shot skills) when they try to re-position themselves, which negates their high evasion stat. Shield-ignoring attacks and buff dispelling abilities can both strike right through its shield as well.
  • Deflector Shields: In addition to the standard damage reduction shield, it can also generate a health shield.
  • Stance System: They have two different battle stances. The Shield Stance generates a health shield and can attack multiple targets at once; whereas the Sniper Stance drastically increases its Evasion and attacks with a laser, which hits a row for armor piercing damage.
    Gebbennu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gebbennu_6.png

  • Meaningful Name: Gebbennu is named after two Egyptian deities: Geb, god of the earth, and Bennu, god of the sun. Also doubles as Stealth Pun for MICA Team and Sunborn.
  • Spider Tank: A massive one, easily dwarfing the likes of Manticores and Hydras.
  • The Unfought: So far, they've only been encountered as the True Final Boss of Theaters (where you have no control over the fight).
     Defender
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/punisher_sprite.png
Click here to see the concept art.
Paradeus melee unit, armed with a transforming axe-shield.
  • Rage Helm: One key difference between Defenders and Heavy Gunners is the former having a skull painted over their helmet.
  • Morph Weapon: Their axe takes the form of a shield while maneuvering, granting them 50% reduction to all incoming damage.
    Quill of Patmos
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/visjnoe_chibi.png
Click here to see the concept art.

  • Support Party Member: It's essentially just a floating pylon with no means to defend itself. However, the buffs and debuffs it grants can either cripple your echelon or turn an already strong enemy formation into nigh-impregnable.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Its Blue Starlight skill removes all of your echelon's buffs and shields on top of saddling the dolls with a 10% FP penalty. It does have a relatively long initial cooldown of eight seconds, so ideally your echelon have dealt with its escorts by that time.
    Hymnal Organ
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cherub_chibi_7.png
Click here to see the concept art.

  • Beam Spam: Their lasers do relatively low damage to start, but it's not affected by armor and can melt even the toughest units if they concentrate fire. It's even stronger against targets with fewer links.
  • Zerg Rush: Organs are usually deployed en masse. While they have overall low stats, what makes them stand above similar units is their ability to ignore armor and deal exponentially higher damage when multiple units attack the same target. It essentially makes them a hard counter against strong single-link units, like SF Ringleaders and Manticores.

The Nytos

    Nyto Obelisk / Nyto Black

Click for spoilers

Voiced by: Rina Sato
One of the two Nyto boss units debuted in the Continuum Turbulence event, Nyto Obelisk carries a scoped assault rifle.
  • Boss in Mook Clothing: Nyto Blacks are considered to be generic Red Shirt-rank among all Nytos, but the ones you get to fight are all jacked up to boss-level power-wise.
  • Crosshair Aware: Whenever she uses her skill "Nyto Obelisk" to fire a grenade at you, the map will be gradually marked with a crosshair at the center, then five crosshairs in a "plus sign" pattern, and finally, nine crosshairs covering your whole space. In order to stop her from firing her grenade, you need to destroy her deflector shield and stagger her within a set period of time.
  • Torture Technician: They are the ones who torture the Commander during Continuum Turbulence. Because these Nytos aren't combat-specialized models, both the Commander and Angelica kill several of them using mere pistols.

Adeline

The Black Nyto obtainable from Protocol Assimilation
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Enemies inflicted with Adeline's Black Marks and Alina's White Marks will have both marks detonate, dealing damage that bypasses the unit's armor.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: Units in the same echelon as Adeline will deal extra damage against enemies with Black or White Marks.
  • Emotionless Girl: Downplayed compared to other Black Nytos. Whether it's a side effect of the Protocol Assimilation or some other malfunction, a number of Adeline's dialogue has her coming to terms with her newfound (or rediscovered?) humanity. The rest of her lines are still delivered in a stark, unfeeling manner.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Implied and played for laughs. Placing Adeline near a Collapse Fluid-themed furniture may prompt her to show an emote expressing her desire to eat it. Other characters who do this include Alina and SPAS-12.
  • Long-Range Fighter: Adeline can provide fire support for other echelons from three nodes away.
    Nyto Polarday / Nyto White
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girls_frontline_nyto_polarday.png

Voiced by: Shizuka Itō
One of the two Nyto boss units debuted in the Continuum Turbulence event, Nyto Polarday carries a scythe.
  • Elite Mooks: White Nytos are a step up above Black Nytos in Paradeus hiearchy, but they're still considered generic, mass-produced types.
  • Jerkass: She berates Nyto Obelisk for failing her objectives and generally considers her to be inferior.
  • Sinister Scythe: She carries a scythe when she fights against you.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: According to her lines, Polarday seems to place earning her "Father"'s respect over all else.
  • The Worf Effect: White Nytos were considered dangerous opponents, especially during Continuum Turbulence when they are first introduced. In Mirror Stage, Narciss casually decapitates a White Nyto to demonstrate the sheer difference of power between them.

Alina

The White Nyto obtainable from Protocol Assimilation.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Just like Adeline and SPAS-12, Alina may display an emote implying she wants to eat a Collapse Fluid-themed furniture.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted, although it's barely noticable. She shares a name with one of the three dolls operating the AGS-30, whose name is never stated in actual gameplay and has almost no relevance to the overall plot.
    Mercurows / Nyto Silver
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girls_frontline_mercurows.png

One of the two Nyto boss units debuted in the Isomer event.

  • Beam Spam: More like Wave-Motion Gun Spam, considering two of her three attacks employ them pretty regularly.
  • Combat Tentacles: Those oversized sleeves of hers actually conceal a pair of robotic tentacles. These can be extended at will to grab and impale targets, but can also be used to shoot projectiles.
  • Cultured Badass: She's enjoys using poetic language and quoting excerpts from literature, in particular Handel's Messiah and various works of Jorge Luis Borges.
  • Super Move Portrait Attack: "Tide of Apocalyptic" (yep), which summons a body double that controls a laser fence barring in one allied T-Doll, additionally preventing her from using any skills. The laser walls themselves pulse outwards in the four cardinal directions, so if the squad's not spread out beforehand (usually in an X formation), it'll be impossible to move the affected T-Doll away from the others, and by the time the others are in a better spot to avoid the attack, it's already finished and the brunt of the damage is taken anyway.
    Nimogen / Nyto Gold
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/girls_frontline_nimogen.png
One of the two Nyto boss units debuted in the Isomer event.
  • You Have Failed Me: After failing to stop Griffin forces from thwarting Paradeus' plans in Belgrade, Nimogen is banished to Tallinn as a "failure" to live among the rest of William's abandoned test subjects.
    Narciss
A Nyto deployed against Griffin forces in Berlin.
  • Bad Boss: She has no qualms about killing other Nytos under her command for failing to meet her unreasonable standards. Even at the best of times, she is a control freak.
  • Cool Mask: A golden one patterned after a skull. She wears it properly when executing special attacks.
  • Cute and Psycho: Being cute is a given for Nytos, but Narciss shows zero concern for her fellows (excepting her "Big Sister", Morridow) and routinely berates others for not being on her level. She even trash talks her opponents while fighting, inviting comparisons to SOP II's behavior (which SOP II herself doesn't appreciate).
  • The Dreaded: Almost everyone affiliated with Paradeus fear her, for very good reason.
  • Establishing Character Moment: After the Commander enters Berlin with Machlian in tow, Narciss whines about how her "Big Sis" won't let her go there, only to erupt in a fit of rage when a White Nyto asks permission to give chase and slaps her head off.
  • Not Quite Dead: Whatever happened after the climax of Mirror Stage left Narciss quite literally in pieces. Only her upper torso remains, yet she still has enough strength to choke a White Nyto.
  • One-Man Army: The climax of Mirror Stage really emphasizes how dangerous she is. With the jammers offline, Dandelion turns the table on Morridow and Narciss by turning their escort forces against them. Narciss responds by nigh-instantly annihilating them all.
  • Psycho Knife Nut: She attacks using a set of floating knives. Despite their diminutive size, these knives are capable of slicing through concrete with ease.
    Grig
Lady Gray's partner.
  • Audible Sharpness: A big weakness of her kit is that she has to activate the Vibro Weapon in order to deal damage, and the noise it makes is just audible enough that any Doll that knows what that noise is knows Grig is about to step in and can respond accordingly, even if they don't know where she's coming from.
  • Flash Step: Her movements are so fast, not even elite T-Dolls like the AR Team can keep track of her.
  • Fragile Speedster: She is the fastest of all the Nytos, but her body is not very durable and she wholly relies on avoiding attacks. Taking even a single hit can seriously degrade her performance, which ends up being her biggest weakness.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: Her sword has a slender, gently curved blade reminiscent of a katana, and when paired with her sheer speed, it becomes one of the most powerful close-combat weapons seen so far.
  • Logical Weakness: For all her blinding speed, Grig needs both a steady foothold and enough room to maneuver to fully use her agility. Agent demolished the wall she's standing on while other Ringleaders corners her.
  • The Quiet One: Compared to other Nytos, Grig is relatively tight-lipped.
  • Vibro Weapon: Her sword is one. It's described as emitting a faint humming sound and capable of inflicting severe cuts even on hardened material.
    Bramedb
A Nyto masquerading as an opera singer.
  • Break Them by Talking: This is her preferred method of fighting, using her ability to flawlessly mimic the voices of other people to confuse and mentally break her targets.
  • Honey Trap: Bramedb leverages her sensuality to seduce Hopps into doing Paradeus' dirty work. Hopps, having experience in subterfuge himself, isn't quite tricked and even tries to spy on her, but is quickly silenced before he can learn (or leak info) any further.
  • Support Party Member: She specializes in electronic warfare and as a result doesn't have much direct combat abilities, meaning she wholly relies on subterfuge or hiding behind an army of Mooks for protection.
  • The Rival: One to Lady Gray. Both constantly jostle for Father's approval and never miss the opportunity to put each other down.
    Nemhran

  • Animal Motifs: Moths, as patterned on her dress.
  • Replacement Goldfish: One to William's mother. Assuming she isn't William's own mother converted into a Nyto.
  • Support Party Member: Story-wise, Nemhran has little direct combat capabilities, relying more on electronic warfare to provide support and disruption. What makes her so valuable to Paradeus is her complete authorization over the Bee Sting system.
  • Surveillance as the Plot Demands: Nemhran controls the "Bee Sting" system, a pervasive surveillance network with extremely wide range. With it, Paradeus can effortlessly gather intel even in areas where they have little to no presence. It even proves useful in combat, given that she can instantly pull up the combat data and weaknesses of Griffin T-Dolls raiding Avernus, then distributing it to every Paradeus unit present.
    Tareus
A Nyto assigned to infiltrate the intercontinental train "Future".
  • Mini-Mecha: She pilots a miniature bipedal mech named "Miss Eve". It appears to be a prototype to the mass-produced Radon mechs.
    Sana
Nicknamed "Gatekeeper of Hell" and Avernus' final guardian. Her personality and memories were lifted from the late Sana Meitner.
  • Back from the Dead: Averted. Despite being implanted with Sana's consciousness, the procedure is ultimately a failure, as she still retains her previous identity. Oath her and she will not only reaffirm her wish to become her own person, but also asks the Commander to call by her another name: Margarita.
  • Floral Theme Naming: The name she picked for herself, Margarita, is also the scientific name for the common daisy.]]
  • Hold the Line: Her role in Slow Shock is to buy time as what remains of Paradeus evacuates Avernus.
  • Mini-Mecha: Like Tareus, Sana is also a Nyto specialized to pilot a mech. Hers is a platform oriented for fire support, equipped with missile racks, smoke grenades, and a long-range laser cannon.

Other Characters

    William
Former member of 90Wish and apparent head of the White Faction.
  • Bad Boss: The Nytos may refer him as their "Father", but he doesn't return the favor even at the best of times. At worst, he exiles the ones he deemed to be "failures" to Tallinn and leave them to rot.
  • The Chessmaster: William's most noticeable trait is his uncanny ability to predict and engineer events well in advance, sometimes even years before they even take place.
  • Foregone Conclusion: His appearance in Codename: Bakery Girl means that he survives the events of this game. Even on that game that he still survives, though it is uncertain.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: This guy is perhaps the single driving force for almost all conflicts in the story. He orchestrated the Butterfly Incident, setting Elisa loose so that G&K is hired to deal with her, and then backed KCCO during the joint assault on Sangvis Ferri, which ends with them stabbing G&K in the back.
  • Mad Scientist: Possibly the most immoral character introduced in the story so far. Not only is he implied to use cloned children to perpetrate terrorist attacks, he also infected unwitting refugees with Collapse Radiation to create cannon fodders for his army. All of these atrocities are done in service of his ultimate goal: to have a doll that can access the ruins without being affected by the collapse fluid, and then control it using OGAS.
  • Replacement Goldfish: Implied that this is the reason why he created the Nytos. Persica stated that William approached her and Lyco before to create a digital replica of a person's mind, so that person could be "resurrected" in the form of a doll, but they refused. The person in question is all but stated to be Lunasia.
  • The Spook: Absolutely nothing is known about him. Not his appearance, not his endgame, not even his actual voice. Even the name William is taken from a long-dead but otherwise unremarkable scientist, meaning it's not even a clue to his true identity. However, Chapter 13 highly implies that he is Lunasia's as of yet unnamed brother.
  • The Man Behind the Man: It's highly implied that almost everything that happened in the story is the result of his manipulations. Lyco's assasination via Butterfly Incident as a coverup, and UMP 40's death via proxy, are among of the results.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Delivers one to Carter during the events of Shatterred Connexion, however his first instance is on Lyco, after he refused to develop a neural mind to his specification. The assassins sent out after Persica throughout the years are implied to act under his orders as well.
    Leone

Leone Michel

A scientist working for the Bremen Floral Institute.
  • Asshole Victim: Even if RPK-16's torture of her was fucked up, her work benefitted Paradeus and was trying to spread her misanthropic worldview through a cult she organized. She had it coming.
  • Back for the Dead: She was released after being deemed mentally unfit to stand trial in Mirror Stage, only for Paradeus to attack the sanatorium she's in and kill her anyway.
  • Driven to Suicide: A combination of RPK's torture and breaking speech caused her to snap and shoot herself, but she didn't realize she used every round in her revolver's cylinder.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: She evaded the legal system due to her broken mental state, but ended up getting plugged by Paradeus.
  • Misanthrope Supreme: From the way she talks, her opinion of humanity isn't exactly high (can you really blame her?) Doesn't stop her from spouting anti-Doll slurs or trying to worm her way out of a life-threatening situation, however.
  • Revolvers Are for Amateurs: Her sidearm is an unidentified revolver. Not only was it completely ineffective against RPK-16, her suicide attempt failed because she used every round in the cylinder on RPK (there's a reason why revolvers are extinct as weapons of war).
    Lady Gray

Gray Blackwell

A famous surgeon residing in Berlin. She currently works for Galatea Corporation.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: She sports a massive scorpion's tail after revealing her true nature.
  • Foil: To the real Gray. According to her student Corneleia Schaefer, the real Gray was a honorable scientist who insists on personally joining research due to respect toward science, and encouraging her students to be righteous. The virtue of real Gray was further vindicated in Slow Shock, as the digital copy of her mind encountered by Angelia was shown to be a conscientious scientist that considered the technologies behind Nyto monstrous. Though this may be a facade, there is no hint of the real Gray being as murderous as her replacement, who also never attends her research.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: She's a Protocol Assimilation target and, by extension, a usable Ringleader unit even though Morridow confirms that Gray was Killed Off for Real during Fixed Point.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Gray usually has over a million CP whenever she is faced in Mirror Stage, just to highlight that she is someone you have no chance of beating in a fair fight.
  • Killed Off for Real: In Fixed Point, she's outsmarted by AN-94 and AK-15, is riddled full of bullets, and falls off a tower to her death. This is cemented when Grig begs Morridow to revive Gray, but Morridow bluntly points out it's not possible.
  • Lady of War: Even after she outs herself as a Paradeus infiltrator, Gray still puts up an air of elegance that she had as a public figure.
  • Kill and Replace: The real Gray was murdered by a Nyto meant to impersonate her.
    Machlian
A Nyto who lives among a village of Paradeus adherents, where she is revered as a saint.
  • Always Someone Better: Poincare Recurrence reveals that she was able to surpass Morridow at many tasks that Father gave her. Machlian was discarded solely because she had no interest in Paradeus' cause.
  • Heal It with Blood: The first time we see Machlian is when she heals a refugee's ELID symptoms using her blood, thus cementing her status as a "Saintess". This also hints that she is The Immune. Her blood is later stated to the key ingredient of Paradeus' anti-ELID serum.
  • Identical Stranger: The Commander's side of Mirror Stage kicks off with them investigating why Machlian looks identical to Morridow. While the events doesn't spell out the exact connection between them, Morridow refers to Machlian as her big sister. The clues we get from Mirror Stage imply that the real Morridow was Machlian's twin sister, who the Nyto named Morridow subjected to Kill and Replace. Poincare Recurrence reveals that the they were one of apparently dozens of Nytos that were given the name Morridow, with the one we identify as Morridow having been one that accepted the name and the last one of that group standing.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: Picking either dialogue options at the climax of Commander's route in Mirror Stage will lead to Morridow impaling Machlian through the chest with her bladed pincers.
  • The Immune: This is the reason Paradeus captured her in the first place: she is one of the few individuals who is not affected by ELID. Her blood can even be used to create an anti-Collapse Radiation vaccine, but this is requires very specialized equipment that only Paradeus possess.
  • Kill the Cutie: One of the most sweethearted characters in the story, Morridow, her own sister, murders her during Mirror Stage.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Paradeus scrubbed her memories several times while she was in their captivity. While not everything was erased, they did remove timestamps from her memories, rendering any recollection she has left a jumbled, achronological mess.
  • Seers: Of sorts. Machlian's memories contains scenes of a Paradeus terror attack that hasn't happened yet. Persica theorizes this is because as a Nyto, she is able to unconsciously gather information of the attack from another Nyto (implied to be Morridow), and her imagination makes them into full-fledged visions. The Commander later uses her "prophecies" to prevent the attack from happening in the first place.
  • Token Good Teammate: Machlian genuinely wants nothing to do with Paradeus. She only stays in the Paradeus-backed Bonn Village because she wants to help the refugees living there.
    Anna

Anna

One of the juvenile Nytos rescued from Paldiski submarine base.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: One of her earliest scenes is chewing out UMP45 while in her own neural cloud, then breaking down crying when 45 scolded her for it.
  • The Load: Since she's not yet a fully-grown Nyto, Anna lacks the combat abilities of her older brethren, and therefore must be constantly protected in physical combat. Subverted when it comes to electronic warfare where she shows some competence.

Warning: Spoilers Off applies to the following character.
    The Mole

Morridow

A mole implanted by Paradeus to hinder Angie's investigation in Bremen and capture her alive. She is actually a highly-advanced model of Nyto who specializes in infiltration.

  • Animal Motifs: Spiders. Her augmentations take the form of spiderlike limbs, and her preferred modus operandi is to spin elaborate traps and slowly lure her prey into them.
  • Arch-Enemy: Takes this role for the Commander among the forces of Paradeus. Her mind games and murder of Machlian have eliminated any sympathy the Commander may have toward her. She is set up to take this role for Ange as well, but that position ends up going to Lady Grey.
  • Artificial Limbs: Fitting her spider motif, she has several mechanical arthropod limbs attached to her back in both of her combat forms.
  • Beef Gate: Exaggerated. Most of Morridow's boss appearances in Mirror Stage makes her practically unkillable with millions of CE, signifying that she is not to be fought even to veteran players.
  • Dissonant Serenity: This is one of the things that outs her as a Paradeus mole. Angie, who led her by the hand to escape Bremen rioters, noticed that she had abnormally slow heart rate during the chase.
  • Feel No Pain: As a Nyto, she can disconnect her pain receptors at will. This comes in handy when the Commander's forces tortures her for information.
  • Kill and Replace: She murdered and took the identity of the real Morridow some time before Madam Ulrich hired her.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Morridow regards herself as the most "perfect" among all of William's creation. As M4A1 exposed, this is merely a defense mechanism against her fear of being rejected by Father, just like Machlian and countless other Nytos.
  • Light Is Not Good: Her initial combat form has a mostly white attire, and Morridow is the most sadistic opponent in the game bar none. Her second, enhanced form, though, is instead Dark Is Evil, being jet black excluding the parts with exposed skin.
  • Ms. Fanservice: No matter how she is portrayed, Morridow has one of the most sensual appearances in the game, with all of her outfits emphasizing her curves and her attractive face. Several of her expressions also lean toward being seductive. Ironically, her upgraded form actually inverts Sensible Heroes, Skimpy Villains, as while it flatters her appearance, her curves are less pronounced, and covers more of her skin than most of her other outfits.
  • One-Hit Kill: One of Morridow's skills inflicts lethal damage to a doll five times in a row. However, each instance of damage is removed for every doll placed to the left, right, above, and below the target.
  • Super-Speed: Fast enough to dodge a close-range pistol shot from an experienced shooter.
  • Walking Spoiler: The fact that she is working for Paradeus is one of the biggest twists in Dual Randomness, not helped that it is revealed at the very end of the event story.
  • White Hair, Black Heart: Morridow's true form as a Nyto has a full white hair to complement her spider-like prosthetics. She also gloats about murdering Machlian, her sister, in cold blood.
     Pandora

RPK-16

Former Task Force DEFY member who sold out Ange to Paradeus and in exchange for a place in their ranks.
  • Grand Theft Me: She pulls this off at the end of Slow Shock by taking over Ange's body.
     Laplace's Demon

Martha Meitner

A former member of UN's Department of Relics, mother to Sana, and Ange's former teacher. She joined Paradeus after her daughter's death.
