    J.D. Morrison
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/morrison_2.jpg

A broker and agent who helped Dante before he joined Fairy Tail.

  • Badass Normal: In The Black Wings of The Caduto chapter, he fought off Angelos alongside Gildarts and Laki. While the others have magic powers, Morrison just has a shotgun, which Gildarts compliments him saying he has serious heat which Morrison replies:
Morrison: When you're the broker of a Devil Hunter, who just also happens to be a Son of Sparda, you tend to be prepared for these kinds of situations.
  • Race Lift: Averted. "Fairy May Cry" was first published before Devil May Cry 5 was announced. As such Morrison is Caucasian like in the anime.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: Morrison proves pretty handy with a shotgun when the going gets tough.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He is the one that hired Fairy Tail in the first place in case things get too much out of hand for Dante, but thanks to him, Dante became part of Fairy Tail and later Trish, Lady, and Modeus as well (with also saving Modeus life). So in other words he's the reason the story started.
  • The Smart Guy: He definitely is one for Dante and later for Fairy Tail as he has a ton of info like:
    • Telling the Fairy Tail Team about the history of Sparda.
    • In the Devil Hand Arc, he warned Dante and the rest of Fairy Tail about a new Dark Guild filled with demons that he overheard from some Rune Knights, including their name Devil Hand. He also spoke with former Magic Council member Yajima, who heard from Org about how strict the new council is.
    • During the Seven Year Time Skip, he found information about Angel/Sorano's little sister Yukino, finding out that she joined the Sabertooth Guild alongside Vergil, and is a Celestial Wizard.
    • Although he doesn't know much about Sabertooth, he did find out that in addition to Vergil and Yukino, the guild has two Dragon Slayers, much to Fairy Tail's surprise.
  • Undying Loyalty: No matter how much Dante owes him, he always helps him, which transfers over to Fairy Tail after Dante joins. During the seven-year time skip, he even helps the remaining Fairy Tail members find jobs.

    Porlyusica
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/300px-Porlyusica_proposal_8886.png

Porlyusica is a cantankerous old hermit who lives in the woods on the edge of Magnolia, serving as Fairy Tail's medical advisor. She is a skilled healer but dislikes other humans.

  • Never Mess with Granny: She was able to scare off several Fairy Tail members with just a broom, including the likes of Natsu, Dante, Makarov, and even Gildarts. Lampshaded and subverted by Lady, who notes their fear is less to do with her prowess, and more to do with their reluctance to actually harm an old lady.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite usually being a grumpy old hag, she does have some good moments once in a while.
    • When she encountered Dante, she tells him that he is just like his father Sparda, one of the few beings she respected, and hearing of his death made her upset, despite finding his protecting humans not so much (because she got a great dislike of them).
    • In "Fallen Angel" when Lisanna came to her because of her "Take Over: Dragon Soul" and explained how she got her new power, she advises her to not depend on it too much. And while Porlyusica tells her to get out when Lisanna was about to leave, she tells her that she is glad that Lisanna came back home and tells her although she doesn't like humans that much, Lisanna is one of the few she finds tolerable because she admires her compassion for living beings, especially animals. This causes Lisanna to smile and tells her thanks and that it's good to see her too, and when she left, the older woman smiled.

    Patty Lowell
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/patty_lowell.jpg

A young girl whom Dante and Lucy meet as part of a job and later became friends with Wendy, and occasionally joins the Fairy Tail wizards on jobs.

  • Adaptational Badass: In Let the Games Begin!, it was revealed that Patty has magic powers. Battle of Femme Fatalis implies that she may be connected to Ophiuchus.
  • Foil:
    • Is this to Wendy. Both are twelve-year-old (although Wendy is technically nineteen due to being time frozen on Tenrou Island) girls and orphans but Patty has blonde hair while Wendy has blue hair. While Patty is somewhat of a brat and sassy, Wendy is gentle and polite. And while Wendy at least has magic powers and is gradually shaping up to be one of the guilds heavy hitters, Patty doesn't have any and is more of a Tagalong Kid.
    • She is this also towards Lucy. Both have blond hair, are (mostly) nice girls, and are a bit sassy once in a while, with Gajeel even calling Patty a mini-Lucy, much to the latter's comic anger. However, Lucy was an only child born into a wealthy family and had a massive home that whereas Patty was an orphan who grew up surrounded by plenty of other children in the orphanage. Lucy's childhood became rather bitter when her dad turned cold after her mother died, while Patty indicates she rarely caught a break. Finally, Lucy has Celestial Spirit magic while Patty doesn't at least until the Grand Magic Games hint at a connection between her and Ophiuchus.
  • The Load: Patty secretly fears she's this, as she's just a Muggle amongst a bunch of mages, even her fellow youngsters like Wendy and Romeo, and that means she can't help them in their battles.
  • Only Sane Man: Patty is this compared to the rest of the guild and in Battle of Femme Fatales, she's annoyed by the pervy men!
  • Tag Along Kid: She doesn't have any magic that she can properly access but is usually present whenever the cast goes on a job or mission.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Played for Laughs in Poker King and Rock Queen. She came along with Wendy and the team (much to their surprise) and starts gambling instead of Dante, with no one able to change her mind. Carla even tells her that she is setting a bad example for Wendy, with the blue-haired girl saying that she is there without finding it too bad of an idea.

    Totomaru
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/totomaru_pre.png

A former member of Phantom Lord's Element Four, whose element was fire.

  • The Mentor: During the seven-year time skip, he becomes this for Romeo, teaching the boy how to master his fire abilities. He also teaches other young fire mages how to use their power.

Future Lucy Heartfilia (BEWARE UNMARKED SPOILERS)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/future_lucy.png

A version of Lucy who comes from the future, where Fiore is wiped out in a disaster and everybody in Fairy Tail is dead.

  • Abled in the Adaptation: In canon, she lost her right hand prior to traveling to the past. Here, she has both hands, though she noticeably still doesn't have Fairy Tail's emblem on her right hand. This is due to all of her magical power being drained to power the Eclipse Gate, causing it to vanish.
  • Blemished Beauty: When Jellal and Crime Sorciere find her and remove her robe, her body is shown to have cracks all over it, and Ultear notes that her skin is extremely dry like all the moisture was sucked out of it. This was a result of her life force being drained in order to power the Eclipse Gate and travel back to the past.
  • Dying Declaration of Love: In her final moments she confesses to Natsu that she always loved him, complete with a kiss. She even tells Lisanna that she might have even fallen for her as well.
  • No Body Left Behind: After taking a hit from Future Rogue meant for Lucy and Yukino that tears through her fragile body, she crumbles to dust leaving behind only her robe and her half of the Perfect Amulet.
  • Taking the Bullet: She pushes her past self and Yukino out of the way from Future Rogue's shadow hands, which end up tearing through her body and killing her.
  • Your Days Are Numbered: In order to use the Eclipse Gate despite not having Yukino's keys, she used her own magic power and life force so she could travel back to the past. However, the process not only drained her of all magic but also drastically shortened her lifespan, giving her a few days left to live at best. She eventually dies after an attack from Future Rogue tears through her body, causing her to crumble to dust.

Crime Sorciére

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crime_sorciere_banner.png

An independent wizard guild dedicated to the eradication of dark guilds and wizards, though they also take out the occasional demon.

    In General

    Jellal Fernandes
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jellal_fernandes.png

The leader and founder of Crime Sorciére, Jellal is a former Wizard Saint and Council member, as well as an old friend of Erza's from the Tower of Heaven.

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Due to the events of the story skipping out the Tower of Heaven arc, the first time we seen him in the story is part of the events of Devil's Retribution, covering the post-timeskip period.
  • The Atoner: Becomes this after remembering everything he's done.
  • Death Seeker: Defied. Despite having admitted to being Driven to Suicide after regaining his memories, he resolves to avoid taking the easy way out and ensure that he doesn't actually die until after he's made up for his past crimes.
  • The One Guy: He's currently the only male on Crime Sorciére.

    Ultear Milkovich
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ultear_x791_2.png
Click here to see her pre-Time Skip appearance

Ultear is the daughter of the legendary ice wizard Ur. As a child, she underwent torturous experiments at the hands of scientists; when she escaped and saw Ur with Gray and Lyon, she perceived it as abandonment and became resentful to the point of plotting her revenge against her mother. Under the mentorship of Grimoire Heart's Master Hades, Ultear became the leader of the dark guild's powerful Eight Kin of Purgatory, manipulating many wizards to further her own schemes, including Jellal. Ultear's magic, the Arc of Time, gives her complete control over any inanimate object's flow of time. She also inherited Ur's proficiency in Ice-Make, though she rarely uses it because she resented her mother for many years. During the seven years of time-skip, Ultear became a member of Crime Sorciere, to atone for her sins.

  • Badass in Distress: She's captured by Vergil during the Devil Hand arc. She later was able to free herself and use her Arc of Time to weaken Mammon's attack so that Gray and Juvia win and take her revenge on the Gold-Make wizard that captured her.
  • Beauty Is Bad: When she encounters Dante, he admits that, for being the leader of the Eight Kin, she's not bad looking, even hot, much for Lady and Lisanna's sweat drops.
  • Shout-Out: In Awakening, when Dante is at her mercy he spits on her, she quotes Joker when he was torturing Jason Todd.
Ultear: Now that was rude. At least your brother had manners.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: The reason she secretly helped Gray and Juvia in their fight against Mammon was so she could have the pleasure of killing Gray herself once the time came.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Zigzagged. She is the leader of the Kin because of her cunning, though she's quite formidable in her own right. The real strongest member is Azuma.
  • This Cannot Be!: When she tries to use her Arc of Time towards Yamato to rust, it failed much to her surprise. According to Vergil, his sword is made by his father with demonic powers and that's at least two millenniums old.

    Meredy Milkovich
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/meredy.png
Click here to see her pre-Time Skip appearance

The youngest member of the Eight Kin, Meredy has the power to control and connect people's physical and emotional senses with her Maguilty Sense. Beginning as a quiet, seemingly emotionless girl, Meredy only ever opened up around Ultear, her mother figure, and is willing to throw her own life away for Ultear's happiness. During the seven years of time-skip, Meredy became a member of Crime Sorciere, to atone for her sins.

  • Nom de Mom: During the seven-year time skip, Meredy has taken the last name of Milkovich, the last name of her foster mother Ultear.

    Sorano Agira
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/angel_avi_3.jpg
Click here see her pre-Time Skip appearance

Sorano is a young woman more infamously known as Angel of the Oración Seis. Kidnapped as a child and separated from her little sister, Yukino, she grew into a cruel dark wizard.

  • Adaptational Heroism: By the time Devil's Retribution starts up, she's already a member of Crime Sorciére much earlier than in canon, courtesy of the events of the Devil Hand arc in the original story.
  • Big Sister Instinct: When Sorano learns that Yukino was expelled from Sabertooth just for losing to Kagura, and was nearly made to strip naked, she nearly goes to Sabertooth with the intent to make them pay for humiliating her sister.
  • Break the Haughty: Being captured and tormented by Asmodeua during the Devil Hand arc does such a number on her that when Lucy and Lisanna rescue her, she's a broken shell of her former self.
  • The Dog Bites Back: She ends up helping kill her tormentor Asmodeua via transferring her magic power to Lucy so she can cast Urano Metria.
  • Heel–Face Turn: She joins Crime Sorciére earlier than she did in canon.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: As noted by Iblis while Devil Hand is abducting her from prison, Angel went from a dangerous Celestial Wizard and mighty member of one of the most feared dark guilds on the continent to a frightened powerless child in a cell only fit as a pawn in a greater scheme.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: She admits this to Erza in the Devil Hand Arc while she's being transported between prisons, stating all she truly wanted was to be free from the slavery of the Tower of Heaven and the wretched world, before bitterly taking notice of how now she's no more free than a caged animal.
  • Mythical Motifs: Angels, being her codename back when she was a member of Oracion Seis. Her first appearance in the story is Fallen Angel and after the time-skip she learned a Angel Magic, a Magic that allows her to create non-sentient angelic beings.
  • Recurring Element: She doesn't start out bad or antagonistic per se, but she carries over a trait that's common among Iron117Prime Noble Demon archetypes: performing earlier heel-face turns.
  • Related in the Adaptation: The Devil Hand arc reveals she and Yukino are distant relatives with the Strauss siblings, all of them being descended from one of the priestesses Sparda was forced to sacrifice in order to seal Temen-ni-gru.
  • Restored My Faith in Humanity: While she was showing signs of it at the end of the Devil Hand arc, she spells it out in Devil's Retribution that Fairy Tail's and especially Dante's and Lucy's words and actions made her realize the world is worth fighting for.
  • Summon Magic: A former Celestial Spirit wizard, after the time-skip, she learned Angel Magic, which allows her to create non-sentient angelic constructs like her previous Magic, each their own power.
  • So Proud of You: Seeing her little sister Yukino in her match against Kagura how strong she became, made Sorano proud.

    Sheeree Marvell
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sheeree_post_timeskip.jpg

Formerly known as Leviatha, a former dark wizard that represented the sin of Envy in the Devil Hand. Sheeree wields Magical Drain, Caster-type Magic that allows her to copy other people's magic for her own. During the seven years of time-skip, she became a member of Crime Sorciere to atone for her sins. Sheeree is foster older sister of Wendy Marvell.

  • Ability Mixing: Throughout seven years of time-skip, Sheeree learned that she can do more than simply copying spells, but can also combine them to create an entirely new spells. She used so far:
    • Fire Sky Dragon Brilliant Flame - combination of Fire and Sky Dragon Slayer Magic.
    • Fire Dragon Grand Chariot - combination of Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and Heavenly Body Magic.
    • Ice-Make: Jiu Leixing - combination of Ice-Make and Heavenly Body Magic.
  • Age-Inappropriate Dress: When she copies her opponent's powers, she also copies their clothing despite her young age. This includes Mira's Satan Soul with its Navel-Deep Neckline and Erza's armors, some of which are quite Stripperiffic even if hers is a smaller version.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: See Dark and Troubled Past below.
  • The Atoner: In the seven-year time skip she joined Crime Sorcière with Jellal, Ultear, Meredy, and Sorano.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Having aged normally in the past seven years while Wendy was frozen on Tenrou Island, Sheeree now considers herself Wendy's big sister and looks out for her. When Raven Tail attacked Wendy before the Grand Magic Games began she was livid.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Compared to Wendy's gentle, meek, and friendly respectful girl, she on the other hand is both rude and foulmouthed to both allies and enemies alike, but at the end of the Devil Hand arc she becomes better.
  • Break the Cutie: Was friends with Wendy and is really just a victim of circumstance, being left alone after Cait Shelter was dissolved (due to Wendy not knowing she wasn't an illusion). Arkham was the first person who offered her any help, appearing at an emotional low point in her life.
  • Broken Ace: Is a Child Prodigy with Power Copying that lets her go toe-to-toe with the like of Erza and Mira, but is also a traumatized young girl with severe abandonment issues. Later realizes she tried to kill Wendy, her closest friend, alongside all the other crimes she helped Arkham with.
  • Child Mage: Is the same age as Wendy and only received her magic a few weeks ago at the time of her debut, yet has already become skilled enough to be a formidable threat to most adult mages.
  • Children Are Innocent: She, along with Beelzebub/Adrian, are the youngest and most sympathetic members compared to their older comrades who do it for personal desire, while their main reasons are from sorrow (their main fights are in the chapter named "Sins Born of Sorrow").
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Her color motif is green, the color of envy. Her magic power is green, the clothes she copies turn green, her eyes are green, and after her redemption she still wears green.
  • Cooldown Hug: On the receiving end from Wendy, after the latter hears her full Dark and Troubled Past, tearfully apologizing for not bringing her with her and Carla to Fairy Tail. The fact that Carla, Erza and even Lady join in shocks her, and she realizes the magnitude of what she was doing, tearfully surrendering.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was abandoned as a baby in the ruins of Nirvit (which later become the Cait Shelter guild) and was found and taken in by the ghost of Roubaul. When Wendy came, Roubaul created illusions for Wendy's sake to Sheeree's confusion and growing jealousy. She later grows more jealous when she learns of Wendy's adoptive mom being a Dragon (compared to her not knowing her own parents), her magic power (as she herself had no magic) as well her hatching Carla from an egg, but her breaking point came at the end of the Nirvana arc, when Roubaul revealed the illusions (with Wendy not knowing that Sheeree was not one) and apparently forgetting about her. She felt abandoned and vulnerable, allowing Arkham to manipulate her with her suffering emotions.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": Is annoyed by Wendy calling her by her birth name of Sheeree, going by Leviatha. Goes back to Sheeree after her Heel–Face Turn.
  • Easily Forgiven: No one in Fairy Tail has any hard feelings against her as they understand she was just a lost vulnerable child who Arkham took advantage of and when Lahar comes to arrest her they jump to her defense.
  • Emerald Power: Her magic power is green and quite intense despite being young and inexperienced.
  • Expy: She's essentially a Fairy Tail version of X-Men's Rogue, even down to her green color scheme and starting out evil.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: She represents the sin of Envy and is deadly jealous of Wendy, for seemingly having everything handed to her, while she was left with nothing. Adding to that, her natural eye color is green.
  • In the Hood: Wears a green robe with a hood to conceal her identity from Wendy and Carla.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal: Was apparently always annoyed by Carla's high-strung attitude, wanting to shut her up for good. Subverted after her Heel–Face Turn, where she apologizes and the two are on much better terms.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After the defeat of Wendy she's horrified at what her envy has done with Temen-ni-gru as well when Arkham tells everyone that he used her as well the Seven Deadly Sins. She is completely regretful that Beelzebub/Adrian is suffering even more so than her and wished she could have helped him but it's too late.
  • Never My Fault: Blames Wendy for every bad thing in her life, ignoring the fact that she could have simply told her that she wasn't an illusion like the rest of Cait Shelter, and the rest of Fairy Tail would have been happy to take care of her. Carla also points out that she chose to join a dark guild and help in hurting people, something Wendy had nothing to do with. After her Heel–Face Turn, she acknowledges Carla was right, though the others agree she was mostly a victim of Arkham.
  • Power Copying: Her signature magic is called Magic Drain. Carla notes that envy means jealousy, to take what you want that belongs to someone else in this case magic powers.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Magic Drain allows her to use any spells of wizards in her vicinity, and even provides her some innate knowledge and secondary effects of said spells (for example, she creates copies of Erza's armors and weapons to use her Requip, and creates Exceed wings in order to use their Aera). However, two key secondary powers she doesn't get are that no matter how many spells she copies her own innate magic power doesn't increase to match, and she doesn't automatically master said spells. As a result, she can quickly burn through her own admittedly impressive reserves if she gets reckless in using high-level magic.
  • So Proud of You: Sheeree is filled with joy for Wendy after seeing her surrogate sister win her match against Sherria.
  • Super Power Lottery: Her Magic Drain allows her to copy the magic of anyone who's in her vicinity. What makes it even more powerful is that she can use multiple forms of the magic she has copied at once, though this does exhaust her quickly. This allows her to more than hold her own with far more experienced and better-trained fighters and she is considered one of the most powerful of the Sins despite only being 12 at the time.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour: Appears to be unusually fond of swearing given her age.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Erza notes that even though she can copy her opponent's powers she lacks the skill the others have compared to how she and others got their powers for years to her seconds. However, she makes up for it by using All Your Powers Combined, letting her separately overwhelm Mira, Erza and Lady, albeit the first two didn't want to seriously hurt her, and Lady lacked her weapons at the time. When Wendy came to stop her, having Took a Level in Badass, she was too exhausted from using all those powers at the same time and found herself on the back foot.
  • Villainous Friendship: Although she couldn't stand her fellow sins, she at least got on good terms with Beelzebub/Adrian, Both are close in age and are the most sympathetic of them. When Arkham reveals his true goals and Sheeree being tricked, she immediately realizes that Adrian got tricked too and that he got it even worse than her, much to her regret.
  • You Remind Me of X: Reminds Erza of her friend Sho, back when he thought she had abandoned her friends at the Tower of Heaven, especially given her attitude towards Wendy.
