Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Okay, the same user did something similar earlier this month where they deleted a Villain Decay entry for Ghetsis and rewrote it so it was about Gruntilda. This seems like a really specific issue for them to have done twice in one month, so I don't know what's going on there.
Here's their edit history for clarity. They did something similar for KarmaHoudini.VideoGames where they deleted an entry and rewrote it to be about a different franchise.
Edited by chasemaddiganUmm... should we PM them and threaten mod action? Or would that be Disproportionate Retribution?
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.PM and ask them to come here. You can't threaten to sic the mods on people.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI would, however, notify the mods (beyond just this ATT thread). That's legitimately bizarre behavior.
The same troper xy 0101 also made weird edits in Tomboy and Girly Girl. They have changed the context of some examples to incorrect statements, especially about The Powerpuff Girls (around 10th October)
In the same page they have also deleted examples without explanations (aside from "improvement). After I have added them back, they deleted them again with the same edit reason ("improvement"). I already sent them a PM about edit warring, but I got no answer. And they keep deleting examples in other pages, like The Generic Guy.
Edited by annette12That seems like editing with an agenda.
We definitely need reverts on those pages.
17 pikachus all in a row.So, where can I notify the mods about this, as nrjxll suggested?
Edited by MasterN One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord. The mods do look over ATT a lot, so they would be aware of this issue.
Also, I remember somebody doing this mentioned before in ATT, with their reason being "improvement". Don't remember their user name. Could be the same guy.
EDIT: here. Same guy.
Edited by pikachu17 17 pikachus all in a row.Any way to directly contact them, though? Just to be sure?
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord. The offending troper, Tropers.Xy 1010, has technically Edit Warred during the previous query. Given they're continuing to force their idea of things onto the wiki, I believe a tap on the should is necessary at this point?
You mean a PM? @annette12 above already did, and apparently got no response. I shall notify a mod, anyway.
(after visiting page) Holy crap, there are so many mods here. Anyone know which one I should contact?
One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.I hate it when I accidentally post something twice.
Edited by MasterN One of these days, all of you will accept me as your supreme overlord.^ The ones who most often deal with these sort of things are Willbyr, Fighteer, Nombretomado, Berrenta and Septimus Heap. Any of them will do.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI've used the Report Page button to bring attention to overlooked ATT queries. You might want to try that instead of PMing a mod directly; just be sure to link to this query in the report.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Suspended. I can't speak for the rest of the staff on this but I'd imagine that the query was buried because a) it got too much random chit-chat and b) there has been a proliferation of Ask The Tropers queries recently which are either much too long or really forum discussions, so things are getting missed more frequently.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYou mean the troper has been suspended?
Thanks. Though I wonder if a warning would have been enough (then again, they had not responded in the past, so...)

On the Love to Hate page, a Troper changed these two examples:
To this:
With the only edit reason being a single word: improvement
Given how the new examples are basically the old ones with new names, it seems like the troper altered them because they personally did not like Dimentio and Ghetsis. I am going to change it back, but should I PM them and let them know that however they personally feel about an entry does not matter, that an entry is never 'wrong', and that they should stop acting like they are Righting Great Wrongs?
