Have you PMed Rm 74 am discussing the disputed edits?

The edits calling Cassie "demonic" and "sociopathic" are definitely over the top and should be cut. There's also speculation that is written as if it has actually happened (there's one that basically reads as "Cassie is 100% going to get revenge on Maddie" even though we have no idea how that plot will shape up in season 3). Aside from being clearly agenda driven, that's just bad example writing as a character can't really be "kind of" a sociopath.

Suspended because I saw that at least one example (Selective Obliviousness) was edit warred over; there might have been more, but they've made so many edits that it was hard to sort through all of them.

Edit: Not seeing an edit war on the YMMV subpage.

RM 74 has now sent me a PM that I think qualifies as “insulting, overly snarky, and too personal.” I didn’t respond and instead blocked them, because it doesn’t seem productive for me to engage with them and in all honesty for a variety of reasons I don’t feel comfortable or safe talking to them. The message essentially said “why did you delete the Ron the death eater Lexi edit. I know you’re such a Cassie howard fan and want to portray her as an innocent victim all the time. Stop doing that.” But a lot longer and a lot more rudely.

For whatever it’s worth, I had made negative edits about Cassie, but about what’s she’s ACTUALLY done or ACTUALLY is (for example her being a Dirty Coward)— I’ve edited some of the extreme RTDE edits but that’s because they’re inaccurate and bizarre. I would probably have more “negative” edits for Cassie if the page wasn’t vandalized with the exaggerated or false edits so frequently.

Like I said, I do think this qualifies for Reporting Rudeness, though I could just be being too sensitive. Regardless, a quick glance at the edit history for Euphoria character page shows the troper is once again editing back in their RTDE style edits, which I think again qualifies as Edit Warring and Vandalism, but regardless I will try to stay away from the Euphoria pages because I don’t want to edit war myself.

( I can also explain why I did delete that RTDE Lexi example, if it’s necessary. )

This troper is still vandalizing and edit warring. I’m not going to “fix” the pages because I don’t want to edit war myself, but I do think they’re breaking the rules.

Please link to specific edits showing them vandalizing or edit warring, because they were allowed to edit only yesterday and at glance I can't find an issue.

^^^ You have a point. Since they were unsuspended only yesterday, Rm 74 has made multiplerecap pages which have at least one entry demonizing Cassie, including things like "It's clear from then on that whatever sanity and humanity Cassie had left that day was permanently demolished."

JFC, thats over the top. I really dislike how "gleefully" has became a weasel word to just intensify complaints about something. Cassie wasnt "gleefully" yelling at anybody, she was having an extreme crisis moment from being made into a very obvious parody character by her sister for an audience of all their friends and classmates.

They also made these edits to her character folder. While I'm unfamiliar with the show, so I don't know if Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse is being misused for complaining^note although I'm pretty sure FEINE is mutually exclusive with FE, which is also on her folder, You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry! is a ZCE for "Cassie gets angry all the time".

Back when they were suspended, they mentioned that they want to show that Cassie is "evil" because of the trauma she suffered.

They clearly have no interest in getting consensus or being objective.

At the very least, they're not taking it through the proper channels like they promised to.

They were just released with limitations.

And some of their recent edits has me headscratching.

Is it worth checking whether they have the same geolocation as hiddenelastic?

Edit: They had a similar wonk over portraying some Euphoria characters as irredeemable monsters. And there is overlap between Euphoria and Riverdale viewers. hiddenelastic liked to write unnecessarily long trope examples to character pages and would do one trope at a time. They also have particular writing quirks like using three verbs when one would do, and list characters involved instead of saying something like "some characters in [place/faction]".

^^^Theres no overlap with that account. As for Rm 74's edits, we have discussed them but it's hard to gauge if it's complaining or not when none of us are familiar with the show. Also, evidence of Rm 74 edit warring has not been presented.

Their edits are definitely complaining, as someone who has seen the show. One of their edits on the recap for episode 8 is "its clear that whatever sanity and humanity Cassie had left that day was permanently demolished."

For reference, the last thing we see Cassie doing is having a quiet talk with Maddie (who just beat Cassie up), so it is extremely hyperbolic and flat out speculative as its about Cassie making a Heel turn. As that was the last episode of season 2 and season 3 hasnt come out yet, we dont know where her character is going.

Plus, that was in a Recap page Rm 74 made, with no attempt to actually recap the episode and not even the bare minimum 3 tropes needed. They probably just thought they could sneak in complaints there and it would be less noticeable.

I've sent them a notifier, but they continue to make edits surrounding the character they hate, i.e. this one (which also veers into speculative troping territory).

Sent their first misuse and speculation notifiers their way. Sent them a ZCE notifier (their second) for Cain and Abel too. Removed/commented out all their recent additions to Characters.Euphoria.

This is irritating, but not worth a second suspension at the moment. Is there an extant Euphoria cleanup? Maintaining sub/pages is usually better in such threads rather than ATT.

I haven't looked into it yet, but if there's not, maybe we can create a Short-Term Projects thread.

I think a cleanup thread rather than suspending their entire account (unless a troper can be banned from a specific work??) is a good idea.

Rm74's edits as of March 2 at the Euphoria characters page, to the YMMV page of Euphoria, and their edit reasoning feels borderline Single-Issue Wonk.

Maybe an edit reason notifier? Although I agree this has veered into SIW territory, especially given RM74's comment once they were released from EB...

Bumping because they're still editing the Euphoria page with overly negative criticism's to support their wonk, with 12 different edits on March 5th alone.

Yeah, those are more ridicolously over the top comments. RM 74 refers to Cassie's "atrocities".

Keep in mind this is a teenage girl whose greatest "atrocity" is sleeping with her best friend's ex boyfriend, a situation that leaves her so emotionally distraught that she opens her own wrist with scissors.

if they were previously suspended for making overly negative edits to euphoria pages about Cassie and post-release they've done little else but continue to make those same edits, I feel like that's pretty clearly in Single-Issue Wonk territory. At the very least these edits shouldn't stay given how overly hyperbolic they are

Hate to bump a month-old thread, but Rm's last few to the Euphoria pages are still calling Cassie a psychopath/sociopath.

Suspended for the continuous wonkery even though more and more users join this thread to say it's too much.

And I will also lock this thread to put it to rest. If future issues about this troper/the page pop up, please start a new one.
