Oh wait, I misread. You didn’t put the trope through TLP yet.
Maybe you can share your idea on the Trope Idea Sounding Board along with making a sandbox for it like suggested.
Macron's notesThank you, so how do I make a sandbox?
You just use the Sandbox/ namespace.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm struggling with coming up with a better title for Strong Enemy Reward Deterrent. While the current title is sorta fine (it at least gets the concept across clearly), it's four words too long and trying to say that out loud sounds awkward. I'm completely stumped at this point and my request for title suggestions on the draft itself went unheard.
So I came here instead. Do any of you have good title suggestions for the draft?
EDIT: Resolved. Thanks, folks. Appreciate it.

So, I'm working on a Index and I have a question about crosswicking. Besides the examples on it, do I need to crosswick it anywhere else?

Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."You'd need to put it on a parent index. In this case Video Game Genres would be appropriate.
I'm almost done with my trope Primp Of Contempt. What index should I put the trope in?
Over on my newest draft, there's been an example that's been submitted that I don't think fits, but a couple others have said they think it does. I don't know if my changes to the description are clear enough, or that my response is even accurate since I don't know the work. Would appreciate more opinions on the suitability of it.
I have a TLP-related question (that I don't know where to ask).
Is it common or acceptable to do outside research for an established trope? I am currently writing a draft for a trope I'm calling Album Interlude Skit. I proposed it a while back in the Trope Idea Sounding Board thread (Fighteer actually helped me come up with the name). Basically it describes spoken-word skits on albums, particularly in (but not exclusive to) Hip-Hop. Since this is an established concept, I have been doing some outside research to help me write my draft.
The problem is, I don't know if this is something I am supposed to be doing. Is it OK? (I have never written a TLP draft before so this is all new to me.)

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI think it should be encouraged to do research before/while writing a trope page. A lot of this stuff is talked about plenty of other locations. Many of the concepts that have pages here have been established literary terms for centuries. And sometimes, it makes our pages just wrong when we don't use the commonly-used definitions for our pages.
Thanks, I will keep this in mind.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallThe One With A Life has plenty of examples and hats, but I'm still not happy with any of the titles I came up for the draft, and nobody's made any suggestions.
It's basically "The only member of the cast who has a life outside of what they do". If anyone has any ideas for a more evocative title (or other feedback for the trope), I'd appreciate it!

Rawr.Wholesale Club Store (Working Title): Moe anime girl who's just joined a new club goes to a specialty store that sells products for whatever that club does. She squeals "I didn't even know a place like this existed!", coos over the cute merchandise, and faints when she looks at the price tags.
I tried to launch it years ago but people said the name was too esoteric, yet I couldn't think of a better name, so I let it die. Help, pls.
the problem isn't just the title. you've written the entire trope as if it's an anime specific thing but the trope of "person entering a giant super store and staring in awe" isn't anime specific at all. if you rename and rewrite the description to describe the broader trope, you'd fare better, i think

I'm also not entirely sure what's tropeworthy about it, though maybe it's supposed to imply something about the character or just how awesome the store is, but... idk.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness
There is no "broader trope". It's a series of extremely similar story beats I noticed across multiple anime series, which follow the exact pattern I described in the intro. Widening the description would just take away from it being a thing specific to these sorts of manga/anime stories.
It's tropeworthy because it's a trope: a recurring pattern of storytelling devices.
A character discovers a school club that gives her life meaning. Her mentor takes her on a pilgrimage to a specialty store for whatever that club's activity is. Character exclaims "I never knew a place like this existed!" Character squees over the merch and faints at the price tags. Character leaves the store, often with a souvenir. Character feels a moment of quasi-spiritual fulfillment at the new direction in her life.

i'm confused by your Example as a Thesis writing, then. What are you trying to trope? A character's reaction to a superstore? The story plot of a character bonding with friends over shopping? A character going on a mini-excursion with her clubmates to get supplies for the club?
It's not clear and again, none of what I wrote above is inherently anime/manga specific.

If you want to bump your draft, Warriors, we can probably have a deeper analysis over at the TLP.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessHow do I bump it?
You just... post on it. Or null-edit it. Or something like that.
Edited by WarJay77 on Mar 4th 2022 at 1:58:02 PM
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBy editing and commenting to the draft page in a constructive way. Recently changed drafts go to the top of TLP list, so it becomes visible to people who could provide feedback.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI bumped it for them and linked to this convo
I mean you could share the basic concept of your TLP draft here, but I also suggest making a Sandbox/ page if you want to work on it for a bit before putting it on TLP.
