Speaking of writing, I keep ending up with a Freudian Trio as my main characters. Am I doing something wrong? Am I going to come off as lazy?

You can still play around with the idea of an Freudian Trio, and besides it's a strong basis that you could build off of.

I agree with Convoy. It's a strong dynamic that doesn't necessarily imply laziness or shoddy writing. It gets used for a reason, and you can do interesting things with it even if it's used a lot.
You can try toying around with the characters as well, making sure they're unique in their own way. You could surprise people with different variations of the Freudian Trio.

I can agree, salt water feels great to bathe in.
One of my favorite parts of my Jamaican vacation was putting on a swim mask and snorkel and just floating face-down in the ocean.
