During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Hartmann and Gruda. Where should Peginera go? The creature itself comes from the Heisei era but Ultraseven X functions as a Stealth Sequel to a Showa show (yes, I did that on purpose).
- Ultraseven X: Peginera ("Parasitic Space Creature") is one of the worst alien invaders ever investigated by DEUS. Desiring to adapt to Earth's atmosphere with a new body that would allow it to conquer Earth, Peginera splits its own cells into countless parasites and takes over the entire staff of Nano Cybertech, tainting their most popular product with its cells to infect thousands more, even children. Those who refused to submit to the Hive Mind have their bodies turned into mummified husks, with Peginera itself coldly seeing this horrible demise as punishment. A sadistic, cruel being that managed to stand out in one of the darkest installments of the franchise, Peginera wasted no time in causing destruction once it finally got a body.
- Creeped Out: The Koekoeken, from season 1's Cat Food, is a sadistic humanoid parasite that has prolongued its life for thousands of years by "winning" the bodies of children and teenagers—it makes them play a game for ownership of their bodies—before looking for more once they grow too old for its liking. Wanting a new host, the Koekoeken tries to steal the body of its young neighbor, Stu, even showing him pictures of the several other victims that it had through the years. Blackmailing Stu into challenging it, the Koekoeken loses to his dirty tactics but switches its attention to his sister out of spite, cheating at its own game to take over her body and mockingly thanking him for the trick.

- Alan Wake: Dr. Emil Hartman is an infamous psychiatrist who works artists, and at first appears to be a passive annoyance. It's soon revealed he is aware of the Dark Presence and wishes to control its reality warping powers; his clinic is a front to lure in artists and expose them to the Dark Presence as part of his experiments, driving them insane in the process. It also turns out that Hartman was Thomas Zane's assistant, and manipulated Zane into writing his deceased wife back to life, turning her into the Dark Presence's avatar and resulting in countless people being Taken or consumed over the decades. After luring Alan and Alice Wake to Bright Falls, and Alice goes missing, Hartman stages Alice's kidnapping to lure Alan to him. In his clinic, Hartman tries to convince Alan that Alice is dead and everything he experienced is a delusion. In the crossover DLC of Control, Hartman arrogantly doubled down on his research after his arrest and brush with death, eventually transforming into a murderous monster himself.

speaking of proposals, how about Zeebad from The Magic Roundabout film? (I'm talking about the UK version where he's played by Tom Baker and his crimes are taken more seriously, not the US version)

It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure he was nominated before and I think the vote was very close but went into "no".
Are you sure you're not confusing his us version to the uk version? cause I know the us version was too comedic, but his uk version is worse.

same here, died just a few days ago and, on top of a broken extended family on my moms side, it’s been rough
Honestly I’m just not sure he’s heinous enough, as theres only so much villainy you can do to still be considered “a kids movie”. From what I’ve seen he just freezes the roundabout and tries (and fails) to both kill large amounts of people, or any character significant enough to count (and also, What the Fuck was the American version)

yeah, but considering that the Magic Roundabout franchise has only one other villain in the form of Buxton the Blue Cat from Doogal and the Blue Cat, and he reddened himself at the end of the film and Soldier Sam was only a minion, Zeebad (at least in the UK version) easily passes the heinous standard.
also according to Zebedee his good twin, Zeebad kept the world frozen in ice for thousands of years (suggesting Zeebad may have caused the ice age), until 10,000 years ago, when he imprisoned Zeebad in his prison.
so he had killed animals before, at least according to the film.
