I think it's just that he auto-revives every century, but rushed revivals result in him being much weaker than he would be if he was allowed to come back as normal.

I mean, he is supposed to come back once a century right? I think it's a plot point that he was at his most powerful during the Demon Castle War which is another reason why the just beat up his castle and lock it in the eclipse plan is needed.

I don't really care for Sonia much, but this fanart is presenting a good case for her.

Anyone have any favorite minor enemies? I was thinking about how I like the giant armors that each wield a different weapon from OOE. Cool design, good drops, and damn hard to beat, especially the upgraded versions from the Bonus Dungeon.

The Frankenstein's monster-like enemies from the same game are cool too.

Order has some cool new enemies. Like the Ring-inspired ghost girl or the catgirl and accompanying transformation. Or Rondo's painting that instantly killed you if you got too close.

I like the arachne fro OOE. "You look DELICIOUS!"

The gravedigger was awesome too. Far Cry protagonists ain't got nothing on his shovel toss.

OOE had the boss that was giant zombie Raoh, right? I liked him.

Yeah, he's the King Mook of the aforementioned Franken-things.

Konami needs to re-release the Rebirth games. Both Castlevania and Contra were fun, but Gradius was the only one I hadn't gotten around to playing.

If they ever made PC port compilations, they'd sell a ton.

I imagine Simon just prefers a straightforward approach. Raw strength, a whip and a boomerang cross. That's all you need.

My mind's Simon is also the Conan looking one.

I'm gonna guess that Simon was also improperly trained and didn't have time to get his magic training done before the Black Mass woke Dracula up so he just went as is. It was a good thing then he was that much of an 'ardman.

Also I used to usually go for Chronicles Simon but if classic Conan-Simon is the one Smash Ult goes with, hey I can't blame them. Keeps him unique from Richter. And hey they made him look goooood.

Chronicles Simon because Ayami Kojima's designs are an absolute must, but she's also illustrated him in his classic barbarian look, so...

Either one's fine honestly. I can see she's not too fussed which one so I'm not either. I could even see her drawing Captain N Simon for fun

I would've liked to see the Chad Yagami design in Smash, if only to hear the cries of the Simon fanboys.

Amusingly enough, back in the day I honestly thought Death Note's artist would've made a good CV artist, funny how a monkey's paw works.

Cornell was pretty cool. Maria's design was kind of cute. Sypha and Shanoa though...

A rating for a new multiplatform title called "Castlevania Anniversary Collection" has just been filed. Expecting the least, but still. Let it be something at least somewhat substantial and comprehensive, please.

If that's what it sounds like, then that's good timing for me. I've been wanting to get into Castlevania for a while now and I was thinking about buying the Symphony of the Night / Rondo of Blood bundle on the PS4, but I guess I can wait for this.

Here's hoping it's not a Porting Disaster like the Silent Hill "HD" Collection...

I hope that at least the GBA Castlevanias make it into this Collection (and yes, even Harmony of Dissonance, shush. I genuinely like that game). the NES Castlevanias are probably gonna be a given, but I hope that Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night are gonna be on there as well, even though they just got a collection to themselves last year (which was PS 4 exclusive, and this new one's supposedly multiplatform)

Edit: OH, and Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth would also be a great fit, considering how it's a Wii Ware exclusive & the closure of the Wii Shop Channel that happened earlier this year.

I gotta say, tho, if this one also skips the Switch, I'm gonna be so pissed.

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is coming in early summer for Switch/PS4/X-Box One/Steam.

Four games announced:

-Castlevania 1

-Dracula's Curse

-Super Castlevania

-Belmont's Revenge on Gameboy

Apparently with four more to be announced soon. I'm guessing Rondo of Blood & Bloodlines; fingers crossed for Adventure Rebirth.

I was going to say "Obviously none of the GBA games will be on here" but Belmont's Revenge kinda kills that idea.

Though that being said, it seems their focusing more on Classicvanias for this Collection so who knows?

Isn't Castlevania III super hard to emulate? Hopefully there's no problems there and they give us the superior Famicom version soundtrack with the English localization.

Oh yeah and if you check the description for this Collection they call this "the first" collection so I guess this one will cover all the regular 2D games and a second collection will cover all the IG Avanias.
