With just 1,447 inbounds, I think we can just cut.
That too.

To the Bat Hyperaffixation!
I mean cut and merge with Hyperaffixation.

Kirby is awesome.Chop, chop, chop!
Move examples that fit Hyperaffixation there, of course.
Cut and merge.

On top of everything else, I'm not sure cases that don't involve Hyperaffixation can really be called Batman (1966) shoutouts, and calling it the originator of the "to the X" construction seems like Fan Myopia. There's a case to be made that the dramatic way the line is delivered, probably with pointing, makes it more of a trope and more of a shout-out, but I don't know if it makes it enough of one.

I was worried, but Hyperaffixation existing solved it. Maybe Mad Libs Catch Phrase or ReferencedBy.Batman is there are issues with examples.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThe "played straight" examples from The Lord of the Rings books aren't this trope, that's just how people talk in Middle-Earth. Suggest cutting.
(Besides, can a parody trope be played straight?)
Move to Hyperaffixation sounds fine, though I agree with Amonimus that the Batman-specific ones could just be Shout-Out examples to Batman.

Let's go ahead and merge this with Hyperaffixation and redirect to that page.
Edit from a few hours later: Forgot to star the thread. Fixed that.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.A merge sounds good. I can take care of dewicking since there's enough that I can handle it in one day.
Remember: only move correct examples to Hyperaffixation. The "to the x!" examples don't go there.
I'd like to apologize for all this.Got it. Should we go ahead and put To The Bat Noun on Wick Cleaning Projects?
Nah, there's only about 100 wicks so this should be easy and quick to clean.
CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsSweet. I'll get to cleaning it up!
I assume we're also doing the on-page examples?
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI got to cleaning up all the examples except for one: Tropes Q to Z. It doesn't fit Hyperaffixation and it looks like the example fits another trope (Lampshade Hanging, maybe?) What should be done with it?
Could just file it under Shout-Out.
Vehicle-Based Characterization | Grief-Induced Split | Locker MailYeah, that was what I was thinking. Thanks so much!
And with that taken care of, all we have left are Sandboxes!
Edited by MadAboutLove97 on Mar 1st 2023 at 8:57:21 AM
Cut one of them, since it was in the wick check sandbox and we just forgot to update it.
Of the two remaining, one is Gaston's, it's a write-up for Trope Report; keep it. The other one is a Trope Pantheons idea, ask Phantom Fire.
All that's left is merging the two pages now.

I'd like to apologize for all this.
Crediting nw09 for the OP
To The Bat Noun is a Stock Phrase consisting of just a character saying "To the X!", in a Shout-Out to the 1960s Batman series. It is also misused for Hyperaffixation. See wick check.
Proposed solution: Cut or disambig.
