Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.
We also have some more general threads for character page help -
- Character Page Cleanup: for trope misuse, zero-context examples, spoiler tagging issues etc.
- Are these character tropes?: for queries about whether particular tropes belong on a character page or on the work's page.
This is not a policy discussion thread, it's a cleanup thread — any requests for policy changes need to be raised in Wiki Talk.
Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

Okay then. Should the moments be split up by channel, or do you want to just copy and paste the original folder onto a new page?
As for Pekora and Marine, that is also something I noticed when I went through the hololive character pages a few weeks ago. Didn't get around to it since I was focused more on Kronii, and crosswicking the new page with the rest of the hololive index took a while. Anyways, the remaining members would have about 57,718 bytes left after the split, so I think it should be safe.
I want to go to Tonio's.Arrowverse: Other Earths is at the point where its getting the too long notification. I just added a bunch of characters regarding the Bizzaro arc on Superman and Lois. Can I split it off onto its own page? that would clear up some space.
Edit: Adding to this, alot of the characters when I added them i spoilered out. Do they need to be? same with season 1 reveals.

It's gonna be fun on the bun!The long-awaited merger of all the Laurel Lances would save a few kilobytes.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Unrelated note. For Moon Knight, since the final episode dropped and Layla became a superhero with a costume and everything, should the character be moved to MCU: Other Superheroes page? I added spoilers not to be a jerk. I'm not sure on policy regarding that.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!We should probably give Earths 16 and 19 their own pages. The way they're organised is intricate enough to have subheadings.
For the Hololive Awesome gaming moments, just make a separate link. It's split between JP, ID, EN and Holostars.

Not yet; folder placement should never be a spoiler in itself.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Well apparently it already got moved. Idk I was sleeping at the time.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Speaking of character placement being a spoiler, Characters.RWBY The Heroes has a folder for Emerald Sustrai, whose HeelβFace Turn takes place after the unmarked spoilers period.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. For MCU: Deities, how should the wakandan gods be catagorized? They are currently sorted with the Egyptian gods. And since they are a combination of multiple pantheons, how should they be sorted? Bast is primarily an Egyptian god but is worshipped by the Wakandans too. Thoughts?
It's gonna be fun on the bun! That got reorganised during a character page revamp by the RWBY thread. RWBY: The Heroes page was done by consensus, partially to clean up a load of folder hopping that was happening for several characters; technically, there are five folders on The Heroes page that are location spoilers, not just the one you mentioned (and Mercury Black's folder (on Characters.RWBY Salems Faction) is in a spoiler location on that page, too).
The V8 spoilers get removed by consensus after the volume has ended and before the next volume starts. The volume's ended, but I don't think anyone's got around to asking whether it's time to remove them.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.hey, I'm pretty sure this is where you ask for help on this, but the ongoing Hell Girl character sheet is not going to be able to hold the some 70+ upcoming character folders for the Hell Correspondence for one page.
can I request it be split into another page?

Question: Currently, Characters.Marvel Comics Doctor Doom redirects to Characters.Doctor Doom. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsYes, it should.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.So this has been bugging me for a while. In Series.Doctor Who, three companions for the thirteenth doctor are grouped together as Doctor Who β Team TARDIS. Non of them are long enough to have their own page and two on the companions only lasted two series. Since as far as I figure the name was an informal nickname from the doctor. They should be merged back into the main revival companions page. If that page gets too long then it can be separated by companion era. Thoughts?
It's gonna be fun on the bun! That seems like a good idea.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.So should I do the move?
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Might as well.
(Also, I commented out the Fourteenth Doctor redlink, because obviously that page won't exist for a while.)
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Should Elena and Amalia Chavez from Multiverse of Madness be in MCU: Dimensions or MCU: Multiverse? Per the marvel wiki, the utopian parallel is an alternate dimension outside the multiverse. Thoughts?
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Source that isn't another wiki?
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.MCU Amazing Spider Man was created with 43,155 bytes. However, this leaves MCU: Spider-Man Variants with about 41,758 bytes. There is also a question of giving Webb-verse Spidey his own character page in the context of MCU.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!
So I did the character count for hololive and found out the Awesome Gaming Moments folder is getting quite thick. It's sitting at 76,395 characters. I checked the other folders to make sure there was room to spare after the cut, and yes, there is.
Also went through hololive Japan - Generation Three -Fantasy- and found Pekora and Marine are due for their own folders (44,638 characters for Pekora, 48,987 for Marine).
