I don't think Anvilicious needs a rename, just cleanup.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. The name is too ingrained in site culture to change, and so popular it transcends any chances of misuse.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI do think that having a trope that was basically, "Anvilicious, but good" probably contributed to the idea that the trope was inherently negative.

As I pointed out earlier in the thread, the description for Anvilicious used to say the -icious suffix could come from either "malicious" or "delicious", instead of how it currently just lists "delicious", so the perception of it as negative isn't new. I originally remembered seeing that in the description in the late '00s and maybe also the early '10s, around when I first joined, and confirmed it with the Wayback Machine; I don't know when it was removed.
I'm against renaming Anvilicious, but I don't think we need Anvil of the Story anymore now that Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped is a redirect to Anvilicious.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I thought Anvil of the Story was created to be a neutral version of the trope, because people were using Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped to be the positive version and Anvilicious to be the negative version. With Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped gone, I don't think we need it. Also, isn't it redundant with Central Theme?
Central Theme is an idea that the work is centered around. Anvilicious refers to a moral that the work is trying to teach (or An Aesop, to use the wiki's term). The former's page even goes in-depth to explain the difference.
And yeah, I don't think we ever needed Anvil of the Story in the first place because it's exactly the same as what Anvilicious was supposed to be, which is why I suggested to merge them (and SANTBD) all together.
So what to do with SANTBD subpages like the SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped.Anime And Manga, SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped.Comic Books, etc. Cut them wholesale?
First, migrate what you can to Anvilicious and any appropriate Aesop tropes. Then cut them.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I previously posted a link to a list of Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped subpages.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI've started re-directing links from Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped on Works pages to either Anvilicious or An Aesop. There were a lot of zero-context examples or examples that were gushing, so I cut a bunch too. Any help with re-directs on YMMV pages would be appreciated.

I've cleaned up most of the links from tropes' subpages. Most of them are useless potholes that can be redirected to either of the two listed or cut out right. If they're used as Weasel Words, I usually just turn it into a regular sentence.
Wick count is currently 1910.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here. We're down to 1500 wicks, the vast majority of wicks are YMMV entries. These don't all need to be cut wholesale, since many do spell out An Aesop of the work well. Very few actually are written in ways that are compatible with Anvilicious though.
There are only 1000 wicks left, any help would be appreciated. It should be noted that a decent portion of the wicks are on YMMV pages where Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped are the only example on that page, meaning those pages might need to be cut.
Should I just move examples of Some Anvils to An Aesop on the main page instead?
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?Has anything been done with the subpages?

4 Main wicks left...
One Main's a ghost wick... Easy... And doesn't seem to have been sent to Locked Pages... So it looks like we need to inform more people of what to do in that case...
Overdosed Tropes. Also easy...
YMMV Redirects... Leave.
Razor-Sharp Hand. Actual trope page.

It's just used as a pun and I don't see a reason a page can't reference the old name for a well-known trope as a joke.
Ah. I see. The caption. Some Anvils Need To Be Chopped.
I'm fine with it.
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576If we do really need to dewick it, we can just change the pothole to Anvilicious there too. (Or Anvil of the Story, but that item'll probably only last another year at most.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Asking the Caption Repair Thread regarding that one.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
I'd argue the trope name could be Forceful Aesop instead, since the title suggests something about Anvil on Head.
It would still need the cleanup we're discussing now, but perhaps this one?
