Honestly, I'm a bit worried we may be putting the cart before the horse. Have we even determined there's actually a problem here? From what I gather, we haven't even defined what "correct" usage would be.

Well, in my mind, correct usage would be where people watch something due to its reception, but it is written in a way that does not use complain-y language. While admittedly I did not take this into account when I did my initial wick check, ideally the examples should describe the reaction, not agree with the reaction IMO.
