This thread's purpose is to discuss issues within the TLP community and site culture as well as propose solutions to said issues.
Please do not use this thread to report or call out specific users or TLP drafts on this thread. You can make a Ask The Tropers query on the issue, holler, or PM a mod (the first of the three being preferable).
- The community is too bomb-happy. By that, I mean, when a stub draft is proposed, users are way to quick to drop the bombs the moment it's available, and this creates a feedback loop where other users are encouraged to drop bombs as well. It gets to the point where the purpose of dropping bombs to offset hats is lost, and people care more about raising the bomb count than anything else.
- The community is unwilling to teach inexperienced sponsors. All too often, I've seen regulars not even trying to teach sponsors the steps needed to improve, and instead, will just give blunt statements that do nothing to help at all. (Ex: "No description! No examples! Bombing for lack of effort!")
- The overall rudeness of regulars. From my observations, most of the regulars are very prone to delving into snarky and sarcastic comments that condemn sponsors, and this is only creating an unwelcoming, toxic environment.
This needs to be fixed because, from the looks of it, those who were not banned from the 5T incident or didn't participate at all didn't get the memo that this type of mentality is very toxic and is what leads to incidents like that in the first place.

Someone keeps nuking the Water Ride draft. It's far from launch worthy, but if OP's gonna make an effort, it should get a chance to ride out. (If they themselves are nuking, then that's a problem in itself, albeit a different one.)
This all is quite suspicious. I think the OP just keeps recreating the same draft until it gets good feedback instead of reading the guidelines.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI commented on the latest draft.
Macron's notesHi, uhm, I am the sponsor of the Adaptational Protagonist draft and Parkway went and rogue launched it. There was no 24-hour notice nor... nothing, really. I'm not sure what to do, so I thought of bringing it up to this thread since it seems the most relevant one.
Here there be cats.I sent it back and suspended Parkway for rogue launching. For future reference, rogue launches usually get reported here

Ah, sorry, I was unsure whether to post my concern on this one or the TLP crash rescue. Thanks, have a good day.
Here there be cats.Amusement Park Tropes In Real Amusement Parks has been rogue launched and subsequently blanked by perotinus1983. Given that the draft is about accidentally murdering relatives and has nothing to do with amusement parks, they may have also changed the title without permission.
"My job here is done." "But you didn't do anything."...Okay, yeah they're def just circumvanting the process by sniping a draft and making it their own.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAdded it to the cutlist, but I can't figure out what their motivation would be.
The page shouldn't be cut because then the TLP draft may be lost. Just holler a mod.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI suspect their plan was, like Jay said, to avoid getting approval on their own draft by stealing someone else's draft, retitling it, rogue launching, and then blanking it until they made the page themselves.
It's... certainly a creative approach, if nothing else.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I handled the rogue launch by unlaunching and suspending the perpetrator.
Edit: Oh, and I declined the cut request since the unlaunch button cuts the page.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. Is it time to put Raised By Criminals out of bomb misery? By this ATT is appears the sponsor doesn't know what are they doing and spends most of the time arguing about a single example.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOn Involuntary Celibate Villain, the sponsor has been repeatedly bumping the draft and adding details to the description, without ever once replying to people's comments. This is troubling, considering the draft has nearly twice as many bombs as it does hats, but they're still trucking along and ignoring all of it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOP and others have continuously ignored concerns about tropeworthiness for Kiddie Ride Capers. It'd be one thing if they disagreed, but it's not even been addressed as of me writing this.
I Bom-mented on the draft.

Your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.Some concerns about Drakos 25 and their tendency to not take trope criticism very well. After they got super defensive here (while I was just trying to discuss a potential duplication issue and get them to acknowledge an issue with the description), I decided to go back into their history a little. A few of their other drafts also have moments of them getting pretty snippy and unwilling to listen to people's arguments (such as here where they were pretty uncooperative about the title), and they were the other troper to argue passionately about restoring An Axe To Grind to the point of misrepresenting other tropes and, again, ignoring the arguments brought up if they couldn't respond to them.
They've had some solid launches and I don't think they should be banned or anything, but this is a pattern of behavior I've noticed and it makes it difficult to get anywhere with them... since if they disagree with an argument they'll dig their heels in and snap back instead of actually listening to the other side. I gave up on the "Giant Finger Dangling" discussion but I have no doubt that this issue will pop up again in the future
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessName seemed familiar and yeah they've had problems with rudeness before. See this draft of theirs where they took someone telling them they need 3 examples for a draft poorly and Macron intervened [1]. I agree they're not always like that and have launched drafts fine, but it is now a pattern.
This low-quality draft has attracted 20 bombs so far, and as was pointed out by amathieu13, the sponsor has had previous low-quality drafts like this.
It's ultimately up to the mods to decide what to do with it, but I honestly think it should be discarded since the sponsor doesn't seem to be listening.

TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining | Troper WallI discarded it but not issuing a suspension because they weren't reminded of TLP Guidelines on the last two drafts they did.
Macron's notesRemind me the reasoning for discouraging redundant bombing/hatting. To me the more the net in either direction the more it shows interest in the topic.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup- Redundant hatting: Makes it impossible to halt a rushed launch. Many drafts accumulate undeserved hats simply for looking superficially decent. Forces people to show their support in other ways.
- Redundant bombing: Avoids dogpiling, and encourages users to actually offer critiques before tossing a bomb at low-hanging fruit. The more bombs a draft has, the less likely it is to be salvaged, which means that a legitimate, well-meaning effort can be entirely ruined by people bombing just because it isn't perfect within the first hour. Also, prevents situations like the 5T from ever happening again.
