Is it not unanimous to change the name? Did we make the single proposition crowner yet?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. So the misuse would be largely transferred to But I Can't Be Pregnant!, right?
Actually, I wonder if But I Can't Be Pregnant! should be renamed to Surprise Pregnancy, and then this trope gets renamed to Late Pregnancy Realization or whatever.
But I Can't Be Pregnant! has its own restrictions - it isn't just for any surprise pregnancy, but for pregnancy that seemed physically impossible due to infertility, age, not having sex, an Interspecies Romance, etc. The common misuse for Surprise Pregnancy seems more fitting for But We Used a Condom! and Law of Inverse Fertility.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Page moves in Main/ can just be done by asking a mod to do it manually. One mod (I think Berrenta) has done that at least once recently (specifically, moving The Missingno to Glitch Entity) rather than having us go through TLP. Berrenta also previously mentioned that she planned to handle one of the two moves voted on in the infidelity tropes thread (the other appears to actually require TLP, since it involves turning one trope into a definition-only page and launching the new definition as a new trope).
I suppose you could ask in the locked pages thread. I've requested page moves multiple times there.
Edit; Fixed some accidental grammatical errors I made earlier (I posted this not long after waking up, and I'm more awake now.)

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Possibly? Is something like Accidental Pregnancy too chairsy for a supertrope? It's a pretty common source of conflict and could encompass But We Used a Condom! and But I Can't Be Pregnant! as well.
This opens up new possibilities:
- Turning Surprise Pregnancy into a supertrope and splitting off Late Pregnancy Realization to cover the original definition / Rename Surprise Pregnancy into Late Pregnancy Realization and create a Surprise Pregnancy supertrope (functionally the same).
- No supertrope, just rename Late Pregnancy Realization and cut anything not fitting the definition (which is probably most of the wicks at this point).
turning Surprise Pregnancy into a supertrope.
Rock'n'roll never dies!Since we now have multiple options on how to fix the trope (supertrope or no), can we add a crowner? Maaaaaybe extend the clock further if we need to?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. We can add a crowner. Once we do that, the clock can be turned off.
It's too early to extend the clock.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCrowner. These options are not all mutually exclusive.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Hooked; shutting off clock.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportCalling in favor of supertrope for any accidental pregnancy.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe new trope option for the original definition is also in the green (I added it late because the "not mutually exclusive" idea wasn't clear enough so the "make a new trope" option seemed like we'd only do that). Should we transfer the examples over and rework the page? (We should also move the current image on SP to the new trope.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Alas, there's not enough votes cast for a new trope.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportS'all good. If somebody truly desires to trope Late Pregnancy Realization after SP is revamped, they can do so on their own. That usage still fits under the broader trope anyway.
What do we do with the image on SP? It could technically fit the broader definition, but it's more geared towards the original one.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Bump. I guess we should start drafting a new description for the updated definition.
Subtropes we can include under this (going down Pregnancy Tropes):
- The Baby Trap (a surprise to the other parent)
- But I Can't Be Pregnant!
- But We Used a Condom!
- Deliver Us from Evil
- Good Girls Avoid Abortion
- Law of Inverse Fertility
- New Child Left Behind
- One-Night-Stand Pregnancy
- Shotgun Wedding
- Your Tomcat Is Pregnant
I also still want to at least try to draft Delayed Pregnancy Realization and just see if the old definition still holds some weight. Most of the on-page examples for Surprise Pregnancy are the current correct usage. There's clearly enough examples for the old definition. But there's so much off-page misuse that it'd take too long to rename the trope and then clean it up if we're doing a supertrope anyway. No use getting rid of a perfectly good trope if there's enough examples to fill it just because the name is misleading.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Subtrope list looks good, and I have no objections to making that draft.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportHmm...I'm having second thoughts now if the supertrope idea will work for one reason: it seems to be largely covered by Law of Inverse Fertility. The last time we tried to split off half of that trope (the infertility half), it got deleted as redundant. Is the supertrope distinct enough from the "unwanted pregnancy" half of Law of Inverse Fertility?
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Well, this stalled out, so I'm going to bump this. I want to address the above-mentioned concern with Law of Inverse Fertility. Is Surprise Pregnancy redundant to that, or is it just a supertrope? After all, not every pregnancy that's a surprise to the parents (and the narrative) is necessarily set up as unwanted - one example coming to mind is Lady Rainicorn's pregnancy in Adventure Time, which is a Wham Line and shocks Jake but isn't established as something inherently upsetting.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. There’s several examples on Surprise Pregnancy where the baby isn’t exactly unwanted, just a shock soo I don’t think it’s redundant.

Macron's notesCool beans. In that case, I'll draft up a new definition for Surprise Pregnancy soon.
EDIT: It's soon now. Still a work in progress but it's a start; will start collecting examples soon.
Before replacing the definition, we should save the current contents of Surprise Pregnancy so we can move to a draft for Late Pregnancy Realization, as it's a valid trope in its own right.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Sandbox seems OK to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI'm wondering if it would be easier to rename the current version of the page to Late Pregnancy Realization and then make the new version of Surprise Pregnancy in the TLP to better collect examples. The on-page examples for Surprise Pregnancy seem fine.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I think that sounds like a good idea.
Macron's notes

What would be the best way to fix the page?
Extending clock.
