Character pages are a large chunk of the wiki, but they're often filled with problems that don't get resolved. These problems include:
- Zero Context Examples
- Indentation problems, including bulleting tropes under supertropes or tropeslashing
- Spoiler tag misuse
- A lack of alphabetization
- Empty character folders
- Plagiarized character descriptions
- Misused tropes, or tropes that don't belong on character pages
- Broken or incorrect formatting
- Subjective / Trivia trope mentions
Per How to Create a Character Page, character pages should only include tropes that describe the characters. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, Unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask about that at Are These Character Tropes.
All characters must have at least one contextualized trope for their section or folder to be visible. If you find a character that has no contextualized tropes present, comment out the entire section and add this tag:
Other relevant threads:
- Problems with pre-existing images on Characters page need to go via Image Pickin'. Low quality images can usually be upgraded without discussion, but don't change or delete images without Image Pickin' approval.
- Character Specific Pages have their own separate cleanup thread
- Self-demonstrating character pages also have their own thread.
- Inanimate objects and locations on character pages have their own cleanup thread
- Character pages for Reality Show contestants are on-topic here, but there's also a dedicated Reality Show cleanup thread which deals with the No Real Life Examples, Please! grey areas these shows create, and may sometimes be a better place to discuss them.

Characters.Baten Kaitos has been a mess for ages. Mostly the descriptions, which are way too long and about two-thirds spoiler tags. Character pages are supposed to have brief summaries of the characters, not detailed descriptions of their role in the plot that span the entire work! The main page description has a similar problem with length and coherency, but that's not what this thread is for.
It'd be best to have someone who knows the games do it, but they're not especially well-known, so I don't think we can afford to be picky. It's probably not too high a priority for the same reason, though. I just wanted to mention it because I've been meaning to clean it up for a while and haven't gotten around to it. Any help would be appreciated.

I've already mentioned it elsewhere, but Characters. No Ordinary Family needs a lot of help.
TRS Wick CleaningOnce my computer is back, I'll take a deep dive into some of these pages, going in order.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness-cracks knuckles-
Let's do this. Time to finish Characters.Brutal Series.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo far, Characters.Brutal Series Horrible is living up to it's name...ugh.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCharacters.Tail Star is an utter mess. It's full of Zero Context Examples, poor alphabetization, and even non-functioning hyperlinks.

Characters.Gears Of War is a big project. For some of the most important characters' subpages, about half of the page is composed of Zero Context Examples (some with no text at all, others with "well of course it's trope X") or spoilered trope names. Added it to Needs Wiki Magic Love for now.

So have any of these mentioned pages actually been cleaned yet, or are people just listing things?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI don't know honestly. I've been doing my best to correct mistakes on character pages for the fanfics that I read, but I'm not sure on the others. I'm planning on re-following the Friendly Foreign Exchange Student Spider-Man! character page again and work on correcting it, but I'd also like to alert the tropers who work on the pages to this thread so that extra assistance either for this or other character pages can be gained.
The Untitled Goose Game character pages exists, but with the exception of the titular goose, there’s no more than one entry for each “character”. I say “character” in quotes, because, with the exception of the goose, it’s a reach to call them characters as they all only serve the role of “obstacle to the player” rather than having individual identities.
SoundCloudI brought this up before in Ask the Tropers, but there's no good reason for Characters. The Hunger Games to be split into book and film characters.
Keet cleanupYeah, the game is so sparse and largely plotless that I can't really see the need for that much of a character sheet. I'd suggest condensing it down to two: the goose, and all the villagers as a collective entry.
I guess I'd agree with you. I suppose you can argue that the characters aren't exactly the same between adaptations, but most tropes would overlap. (Haymitch is always The Alcoholic, Peeta is always a Sweet Baker, Katniss is always an Action Girl, etc)
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI would like some advice please.
I am currently engaged in a very, very slow cleanup of the various Games Workshop pages on the wiki and recently came across the Warhammer Adventures Character Page that includes a bunch of character descriptions and a grand total of 1 trope. I haven't read the series myself yet so I cannot expand it and was wondering what to do about it? (As of writing this it was last edited 5 weeks ago)

Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellI would personally cut the page entirely and move the lone trope elsewhere, maybe putting it on a discussion thread or something. A characters page without character tropes is absolutely pointless.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThanks. I'll put the trope on the work page, cutlist it and then note it on the Work's discussion page.
Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellCharacters.Amakusa 1637 is full of entries where the trope name is spoiler-tagged. I'm not familiar with the work, so I don't know how to change this to avoid spoiling things.
"It's just a show; I should really just relax"Gain Ground has a rather unorganized and/or lackluster character page. I've worked out a rough draft/better version of the page that uses a folder system, updates information and names, and organizes everything in a more comprehensible way using Sandbox. I know I'm not the best with TV Tropes Syntax/Formatting (or how these forums work to be honest), so I thought I'd bring it here to be safe:
Link to my sandbox, which contains the draft, and The original article for comparison.
EDIT: Change has been implemented due to a troper on a TRS project noticing my sandbox and implementing it themselves.

One not does simply read this correctly. The character subpages of Codename: Kids Next Door Sector V and The Delightful Children from Down the Lane don't include the series title.
Keet cleanupIs it possible this might be a case where if the WikiWord is too long, it becomes a redlink? I've run into that problem making recap pages (having to include the show title, season and episode number, plus the episode title itself), so maybe that's what happened here?
I don't know what the exact character limit is though.
The max is 64 characters (not counting the namespace), and Codename Kids Next Door The Delightful Children From Down The Lane is only 56. Not sure if the subpages starting with "KND" have to be moved, though.
Keet cleanupYes, we'll have to move literally every subpage.
They should be turned into redirects instead of outright deleted because of how long they've been there.

Characters.Faith. A small selection of tropes for each character (albeit most with a lot of context), a few ZCEs, no splitter between the character descriptions and tropes, and a lot of spoiler tagging, including the folder name for the last character on the page. There are also no images.
