Pages needing quality upgrades: Artifacts R Us

Polka Dork looks pretty bad. Might start a thread for it since it's not even from a work.

I just did what I thought would be an upgrade of the pic I put on Navel Window, but now I'm not so sure as both panels are fuzzy on my laptop. Are they that way for anyone else?

EDIT: Made another version with an in-game sprite of Rita and a transparent version of Kyoko. Is this any better?

It shows the two different ways it's done, so I'd say yes. If consensus is that only one's needed than I'd say Rita (on the left) is the one to go with since hers is more clear.

x6 That version of Rita looks really desaturated to me, not sure if it's lighting from the scene or something to do with the actual file. (The pose seems clearer, though) The Kyoko is better than what is currently posted. Don't know if you've got access to GIMP or Photoshop, maybe play with saturation and contrast on Rita?

I think that the current page image looks so soft due to something in the resampling when it was downscaled.

Asked this a few weeks ago, but didn’t get a response: Is it okay if I replace the left pic in Princess for a Day’s image with this◊? I couldn’t find a better-quality version of the pic currently used.

What would it look like trimmed and scaled down to wiki size? I'd be a little worried that she'd disappear into that beige background.

x 4 - That was done using an in-game sprite for Rita at native resolution. I rebuilt that pic with a different resizing program, as well as remaking the original pic (which I reverted back to on the page, the revised version bugged me more and more the more I looked at it). Preference for either?

That is better without the background distractions.

I think what's bugging me is that the simpler version of Rita is in a different brightness range than Kyoko. Her brightest whites are a 90% gray. The one with the umbrella is just too busy; the point that you're trying to make gets lost.

Did this with your original upload, as I also found the background a little distracting: [[350:]]

The slight roughness in the outlining was due to working with the already resized image —If I'd started with the full resolution one, it would look a lot better, maybe even to the point that a white background would be workable. See how her brightness is a closer match to Kyoko, and the shadows have less of a light-blue cast?

Do, I'm pretty sure that the image for Labcoat of Science and Medicine is a picture of a TV showing Mythbusters as opposed to a screenshot like it should be. Right?

It's either a tv or they're in front of a screen

They're behind reinforced glass. The diagonal lines are metallic wires embedded in between glass layers so that it will hold together under impact, rather than shattering.

I'm more interested in knowing why the image links to Series.CSI, instead of Series.Myth Busters.

Because that scene is from a cameo appearance by Adam and Jamie in an episode of CSI.
