For CG's reserve, that's 9 main characters + 12 others + 38 monster encounters + 20 spoiler characters + 73 background characters = 152 characters in total^note Counting Shyren and her talent agent as one, Mad Dummy and Mad Mew Mew and Flowey and Asriel as two separate characters each, and including the Anomaly (aka the player themselves), but not counting the estimated population of the Underground as shown in the ratings of Mettaton EX's boss fight. Also, I've counted the number of monster species for the random encounters, so I'm not counting the extra Froggits and Vegetoids in the Ruins, etc.. For the background characters, I referenced the official sticker sheets so I won't force myself to play again just to count 'em all.

However, this Underground census was taken way back in 2018, and since the game's Character pages have changed since then, if there's any mistake in the counting, please let me know!
