There are countless images across the wiki that — while they look fine with the normal display — contrast badly with Night Vision's color scheme. The purpose of this thread is to weed these images out by replacing them with either transparent versions, or sometimes just a higher-quality version.
What causes an image to contrast most often is that it has an unnecessary, blank white background. A good example is the former image for Orbot & Cubot◊ on the character subpage for Sonic The Hedgehog, which has since been swapped out for a transparent version◊.
Another cause is when the image in question is already transparent, but it wasn't cut out properly and now has an unsightly artifact of its background around it. For example, the former image◊ for Studio Ghibli, which has also been replaced with a cleaner version◊.
These details are basically impossible to notice on the normal display's white background, and since not everyone uses Night Vision regularly, a lot of these images sneak through. Please keep Night Vision in mind when suggesting or uploading any new image for use on a page.
To tell if an image needs replacing, just switch on Night Vision (if you don't already have it enabled) and see if the image has either of the two problems detailed above. If it does, then either add it to this index and report it here so someone can replace it or, if you are able to, go ahead and replace the image yourself. You don't need to ask for permission; image quality upgrades are a free action. You are not obligated to report any upgrades you made here, but that would be appreciated, since that would help this thread get traffic.
Please note that not every image with a white background will need to be replaced. In some cases the white background is as much a part of the image as any other detail. Take for instance, the page image◊ for The Lost Room. Other examples, like any page that uses a panel from a black-and-white comic or manga, such as the current image◊ for Heroic Resolve, should also be okay (unless the background takes up a unusual amount of space, then it will probably just need to be cropped). If you are unsure if an image should be replaced, bring it up here.

That looks great, so I went ahead and made the swap. Thanks.
I couldn't find a transparent version of Gory Discretion Shot's image, and it was too complex to edit myself, so I replaced it with this image, which is free to use (with credit):
Old pic:
I'm pretty sure the old one was a stock image we were using without permission anyway.
Sorry, made a mistake. Ignore this.

Theremin's image seems to be an old photograph, so I don't think we'll be able to find a transparent version.
I should've thought.
It's no problem, I just removed it from the index.
It's not just me who has this issue, everyone on the Discussion page of The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You also say that, on Night Vision mode, the page image has a white text backgound on it.

ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔I've been meaning to start an IP thread for that one for a while now, I just haven't got around to it yet. The current one is just straight-up incompatible with Night Vision, and remaking it with Night Vision in mind will make it incompatible with Normal View.
The only way it could work is if we make two versions, one for Normal View and one for Night Vision, and use special coding on the page, like the image for Creepy Changing Painting, but I don't think the staff would be willing to go for that, and even if they were, it'd be at the bottom of their list of priorities right now.
I already have an example in mind to replace it, I just need to edit it.
EDIT: I started the thread.

Can someone please make a transparent version of this pic? Thanks in advance.
Is there by chance a larger version of that that I could work with? That one right there is too small for me to edit without causing a big drop in quality.

Here's◊ the source pic.
Alright, how's this?
EDIT: I didn't like how the wings turned out the first time◊, so I redid it. I think this one looks much better:

That looks great, thanks.
(Annoyed grunt)
Should Benthelooney be transparent? He uses a white background in his videos... but at the same time, I'm not even sure if he uses that avatar anymore.

Is making artwork used with permission transparent when it wasn't originally allowed, such as with Moe Anthropomorphism and Slime Girl?
Keet cleanupI think it could be made transparent since it's the Author Avatar and the page isn't about any specific video.
That's a good question. I don't think it would be "against the rules" exactly, because there probably aren't any rules about that. I don't think most artists would mind, honestly, since it's not really altering the art.
The Slime Girl pic was originally transparent, though, so I took care of that one.
EDIT: Y'know, I don't think the Moe Anthropomorphism pic was used with permission. I don't see a notice anyway, nor a tag for an IP thread.

I swapped out Benthelooney's image for his current avatar, made transparent. Old pic for reference:

Keet cleanupFire Emblem is barely legible in Night Vision, but that seems to be the actual logo so I don't know what we could replace it with. I'm not very familiar with these games, so maybe a fan of the franchise could offer a replacement suggestion.
Elona is really, really bad.
Mistaken for Pregnant doesn't look too good in night vision.
I replaced the image on Elona with the game's title screen, and Fire Emblem has another logo we can use:
I'll bring it up in the IP discussion thread, since the current was chosen via IP thread.
Fixed.

I think the pic on Glacier Waif would look better if it was this version◊ made transparent.
Keet cleanupI think it'd be better to replace that image entirely since it's Just a Face and a Caption. I started an IP thread here.
