Honestly, if the point is how many options he has, sounds more like Launcher of a Thousand Ships than anything else.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."This reminds me of when someone made an entry saying that every ship featuring Luna counted.
Also from FanPreferredCouple.Live Action Films:
- DC Extended Universe:
- Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice: Despite Clark Kent being in a loving relationship with Lois Lane, most fanfiction about the film instead pair him up with rival turned ally Bruce Wayne. This is due to the Foe Yay between them throughout the films, as well as the fact that the pairing already being popular in the comics.
- This only grew after Justice League (2017), where Bruce spends much of the movie trying to revive Clark and ranking up the Ho Yay between the two. They have the most fanfictions of any pairing in the DCEU tag on Archive of Our Own. Zack Snyder's Justice League adds Bruce's pleading with Clark when the latter has gone berserk, it makes him sound positively broken-hearted.
Now this entry counts. However, why is this a tree? It could easily be one entry.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah I agree that it doesn't have to be a tree. They're both referring to the same pairing.
Anymore opinions on the above two examples.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI'm totally with you. Combine them.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Give 'em the old Fusion Dance.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness- Fan-Preferred Couple:
- Sterek. As in Stiles/Derek. So prominent in the fandom that of all fics online, a solid 90% or more ship the pairing. It also earned the award of being the 6th most reblogged pairing. On Tumblr.
- Scott/Kira and Malia/Kira are very popular among the fandom.
- A lot of people — including the majority of the fandom, the actors, and apparently even the wardrobe crew — would like to see Sheriff Stilinski and Melissa McCall end up together.
Keep Sterek and Melissa/Sheriff. Sterek is (in)famous while Melissa/Sheriff is significantly more popular than the official Melissa/Chris.
I'd cut the second entry. Scott/Kira was an official couple during seasons 3-5 and is technically less popular than Scott/Allison (his first love interrest). One can argue that Scott/Kira is more popular than the endgame Scott/Malia...
As for Malia/Kira I don't thin they count since they're less popular than the canon Scott/Kira and Stiles/Malia. However it looks like they are also more popular than Scott/Malia.

Oh god I don't remember that show much. But I am in agreement with your assesement keep Sterek (One of the most easy cases of this) and Melissa/Sheriff. Cut the rest. Through Malia/Kira is one I could see both sides.
Here's the combined Superbat entry.

Thoughts?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadDoes Sterek have a creator-preferred couple to compete against? The entry is written as if FPC means "popular ship".
Yeah from my memory Stiles has a creator preferred one. Though that entry could use a rewrite.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThis entry from FanPreferredCouple.Live Action TV seems weird to me.
- In Pretty Little Liars, while the endgame pairings are contested none are nearly as polarizing as Emily's whose fan preference is split pretty evenly between Paige(Paily) and Alison(Emison). Emily has dated both of them, both pairings have the same number of stories on fanfiction.net (1.1k) at the moment and despite the show ending, the ship war is still going strong. Emison stans go out of their way to write inflamatory comments about Paige and Paily on tumblr and the wiki while the majority of reddit fans seem to hate Alison and Emison.
First off from my research Emison actually outranks Paily on both fanfiction.net (1.2 to 1.1) and AO3 (400 to 224), and is bigger on Tumblr which consitancy. However something eve more crucial missing. Who does Emily actually end up with. Who is the creator preferred one.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOh yeah. That reminds me that even if we find an entry for a pairing that fits the requirements for an FPC, if the entry doesn't mention the creator-preferred couple, it's a ZCE and needs a rewrite.
Okay, so I looked it up and apparently, both were canon at one point but Emison was the endgame pairing, as the two end the show married. They do get divorced in the sequel series, but it sounds like for that show, they were the creator-preferred pairing. So I don't think the entry is valid.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Even without seeing any further than the beginning of Season 3, I know Emison was intensely popular.
Anymore opinions on the combined entry?

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah, the final entry sounds good.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Is there anything we could replace Foe Yay with? I think that trope is being discontinued.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe combined entry does look good.
Foe Yay Shipping is the primary YMMV one.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadEveryone cool with that final entry?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadMain issue is, Foe Yay Shipping is the name of the reaction of people shipping two characters due to Foe Yay. So you might have to reword the entry a bit. Not sure how exactly you'd reword, though... Maybe "due to the tension between the two when they fought in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that led to lots of Foe Yay Shipping"? Unless someone has a better suggestion because I'm not super confident in that.

What exactly is this trying to say. Does he have a creator preferred pairing or not? What exactly is popular? This doesn't even need to be a tree.
