I don't know.... I think I might need some time to consider this.

On the other hand, I do not wish to see everything, bad memories as it is, completely erased. I say we do a new thread and a new trope page for this.... Continuity Reboot. But I suggest we continue on this old one for a few more seasons, preferably until Battle Royale. Let's see if everyone else wishes to retire this thread for good and restart a new thread, a new trope page and a new everything. And if it does happen that the reboot would have to commence, 9k1 should spend half of her Database time working for the old one, as a tribute for all the times spent here, both by current and retired players, and the other half working on the reboot version.

I'd say if we do start over, let 9k1 finish working on the database for this before doing a new one for the reboot thread.

Starting the whole thing over, especially if erasing everything that already happened, would be a bit extreme... though maybe the trope pages would be in need of a cleanup

But... But... I haven't nominated (almost) all the Experiments yet! I haven't nominated the one who found the one true place for 'em all, Lilo, yet! I haven't seen Carlos or Toriel make the podium and compete in the Battle Royale yet!!! And the current Database is only 37.39% done!!!

All of these happy memories that far outweigh the bad ones. All of these friendships that we've made here. They'll all be gone. But if that's not gonna convince you, I understand. I don't know why, but I'm just not convinced about wiping the state clean... Although I suppose we could just have all the really nasty events not be mentioned on the page itself. With a possible NSFW warning for past seasons.

No. I have no intentions of seeing everything of this old one erased. When I said I wanted a Continuity Reboot, I meant it as "lock everything about the old one, but keep it the way it is, including^* Why did I said "includong"? the bad things, and create a new one altogether". That way, we can still remember all the good memories in it and learn from the bad ones. Ret-Gone-ing the bad things altogether.... might make those who come later to be oblivious to it (after all, not everyone loves to do Archive Binge), which could cause them to make the same mistakes we did.

And like I said, it would be foolish to reboot immediately.

Well, not in the sense that everyone hates it, just the fact that some people have reasons not to. Of course, with you and Twilight Sparkle's Super OCD, Archive Binge is pretty much inevitable. ^note Sorry if that left a bad taste on you. My emotions tends to be very flared up when I say things.

As for references to the old one, as long as it doesn't cross the line, I'm fine with it.

Now I wanna see one or both of my tributes destroy E V E R Y T H I N G by accident, since that's a meme for Derpy by herself.

And I know a few threads that have undergone reboots as well. Bad Ideas for Forum Games, for example. The current version is actually the third; the previous ones were locked due to one too many bad ideas crossing too many lines.

I'm the DM, and I have to do an Archive Binge for documentation.

And if we do proceed with it, are we allowed to make references to the old thread, especially me?

That's why she's my "best pony". I get asked that a lot in Ask the Above Poster a Question.

I'd say references are fine, yeah. If it does happen, I'll probably spend the earlier seasons submitting old favorites again, and I'd like to compare them to how they did in the original thread

Ererdars.exe has stopped working. On a more serious note, I absolutely despise it whenever one of my tributes get killed by a pony. I can't do anything about it, though.

It seems the entire thread has come to a standstill... here's something with updated tributes. Apollo Justice gets quite the Humiliation Conga courtesy of Tiny!Futaba.
In the gag save immediately after (pre-purge), she instead eats a Mega Mushroom and crushes 2 other tributes. And lets everything be killed by a Jigsaw Killer. Local Hacker Girl Is Fucking Pissed

Shall I just remove a large majority of the mentioned blacklist, then we can add back agreed events later if need be?

x3 @Zanreo: Again, someone mentioned outright sterilisation. I think removing the romance/shipping events is a bit far.

Also, even if those events are removed, we'd still have to be careful regarding certain events... namely, the more romantic/shippy events. Even if most, if not all of them would be "innocent" enough by themselves, we should still make sure to avoid any potential child/adult pairings

I'm thinking that the Continuity Reboot and New Game Plus route might be ideal as well. The old thread would be an alternate continuity and serve as an example to runners in the future about what to avoid at all costs. The Great HGS Revival of 2018, it'll be really interesting to see how this plays out. Will the Ben 10 curse still hold true, or will the reboot exorcise it? Will Kars, Super Vegito, and Asgore maintain their Butt-Monkey status? Guess we'll have to stay tuned!

But that does still raise the question as to what to do about the recaps of the old HGS when we start the new thread, and just how much we're actually going to have to cleanse the Trope Page. Would we start with a new Season One and continue onward, or just keep the number going from the old HGS? And we'd also probably have to explicitly put the new rules on the first page of the new thread. For one, along with what was already agreed on, there are certain tributes that really shouldn't be allowed, such as Real Life political figures, lest we have a repeat of S165. Fictional politicians, however, would be fair game. Basically, No Real Life Examples Please

I think I'll sit this Season out. S230 might have fried my brain to a point where I can't decide who to nominate.

A grand finale at Season 250 sounds like a cool idea!

If we ended it all now, it'd be a right low note... If we were to kill this continuity off at some point, I suggest we have a finale at 250.

Anyway... (still not removed certain events) And yes she's been practicing her punching skills.

Event suggestions

• (Player1) writes a detailed thesis on how (Player2) might actually be (Player3).
• (Player1) herded (Player2), (Player3), (Player4) and (Player5) onto a boat, and then (he/she1) beat the crap out of every single one. (fatal)

And if we restart I'd at least like to have another Battle Royale first... maybe do a finale at 250 like mentioned. Also, what to do about the current Death Battle contenders? (And not just saying that because I got 3 of them so far) Unless we get a repeat of Season 201, I'm not sure we'll reach that number by then, unless we just do a smaller game

And yeah, agree that certain tributes would be best to avoid, such as controversial real-life figures

Hey, my Death Roulette event got in! That's neat.

I'd be fine with it as long as I can reset my self imposed "don't renominate past podium finishers and most kills tributes" rule.

Also with the trope page, are we going to wipe all that too? Because if so I need to screenshot some of it.
