Ooooh! Get this! Now even Homer Simpson is playing Pokemon Go!
If he plays the general games, I'm guessing his Pokemon team is Slaking, Snorlax, Vanilluxe, Infernape, Primeape and Pangoro
Just saw "Worst Episode Ever" and ran into a minor Logic Bomb with the Banned For Life Wall gag. If that was indeed Matt Groening's face on the list of those banned for life, how 'come Comic Book Guy's still selling Bongo Comics with his Life In Hell series?

Love tearing bad movies to shreds? Join us every night at 8 PMIsn't that banned from entry into the shop? You can ban somebody from coming in and still sell their stuff. You just can't host signings.
Fresh-eyed movie blogDon't spoil the joke.
Last night's episode wasn't bad for a Grandpa episode, but them going to Cuba, again (after the "Burns' stolen trillion-dollar bill" episode long ago) shows that they're really starting to run out of ideas.
I was watching "Itchy and Scratchy Land" when I saw this joke.
Marge: (in a 70s themed club) The bartender even looks like Creator/Character actor!
Bartender: Uh, yeah... "looks".
I checked. This episode was released on October 2, 1994, when Travolta was still considered a has been... for about a week or two because Pulp Fiction got a general release on the 14th (it premiered in May at Cannes) and revived his career.

Checking Simpsons Tall Tales for this: Any reason why they didn't just get Mona to portray Homer-as-Paul Bunyan's mother. To elaborate, that tall tale told by the hobo the Simpsons are sharing a train car with at the start of the episode started with Paul Bunyan, and as that story starts with Abe-as-Bunyan's father realizing his son is a giant, he find his wife asking for whiskey. Given that Mona wasn't just voiced by Glenn Close, why didn't they just get Tress Macneille or Pamela Hayden to voice Mona there?
I just remembered something. When my family and I went to Orlando for my birthday back in '15, my sister said she was going to call Marge "a fraud" because of her inconsistent attitude towards flying in between the episodes "Mr. Lisa Goes to Washington" and "Fear of Flying."
Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)Just watched the new Treehouse of Horror. It's... okay. It was nice hearing Neil Gaiman as Snowball II, but otherwise the segment was just meh.
What I really can't believe is that I've been watching these for 28 years. I caught the original season because I was a fan of Life In Hell. I like the show but expected it to be cancelled quickly. So, I was a bit wrong.
So, we all know that the more modern episodes of The Simpsons aren't as appreciated, but what would you guys say is one of your favourite "recent" episodes?
I'd say Growing Up Springfiled is enough to be one of my all time faves.
" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"My favorite post-zombie episode is "Lisa the Drama Queen". I've never read the book it's based on, but I thought the episode was cute. More recent? Either Barthood or the recent future episode. Barthood feels weird since it's hard imagining Bart as a 2010s kids, however it was still enjoyable.
Do you think this would count as an Accidental Aesop? In the episode "This Little Wiggy," Marge performed an action that parents are sometimes advised against doing: "Don't muscle your kids into friendships that only you're interested in."
Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)Anyone hear about this lately? Some Indian-American comedian is doing a documentary on Apu's Ethnic Scrappy status amongst Indian-Americans.

"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer"Simpsons makes fun of everyone, so this just seems to be un-necessary. Even though I would still disagree with it, it would make more sense if they were doing it about the whole show, not just a specific character. You don't see people getting offended over Mario being Italian.
And c'mon, how could you hate Apu anyway? Dude's a pretty big Ensemble Dark Horse.

" I'm the princess! Everyone has to do what I say!"I said it on Facebook and I'll say it here. I hope Apu dies and or is retired, not because I hate him but rather how sorry I feel for him. Manjula is a horrible person (I wont use gendered insults because I dont want to seem like a misoginist MRA) that treats Apu like crap and is insanely abusive. One episode revealed that she punched Apu so much that most of his teeth fell off. I really hope he gets put out of his misery.

Define "recent"? Specifically, which seasons?

...I don't think anybody cares or would have been offended...
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I said it on Facebook and I'll say it here. I hope Apu dies and or is retired, not because I hate him but rather how sorry I feel for him. Manjula is a horrible person (I wont use gendered insults because I dont want to seem like a misoginist MRA) that treats Apu like crap and is insanely abusive. I really don't mean or want to sound rude, but I honestly don't understand the logic behind this. You want Apu to be retired or killed off because of how someone else treats him? Wouldn't that be like vouching for removing Squidward from SpongeBob because SpongeBob and Patrick make him miserable too often? (Though, granted, those two do usually mean well.)
It seems the solution here would be killing off/retiring Manjula and not Apu because it sounds more like you have a problem with her than it does you having any sort of problem with Apu (be it not liking him or thinking he's too much of a Woobie). If Manjula's the reason you want Apu killed off/retired, then why not suggest ousting her instead if you're otherwise okay with (or at least tolerate) Apu?

"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"Because Im dumb and didnt think of that. No, really. Thanks everyone.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I recently watched some of the first season of the show again. I always thought it was a shame the creative team weren't for the looser animation. It helped make the show feel more surreal and unique in style:
The last few Tracey Ullman shorts were similar. I mean come on, those meltdowns from Homer and all of Bart's faces. If anything the later more cartoony episodes would have benefitted from it.

I'm slowly getting addicted to steamed hams memes.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I always loved the Latin American dub's verion of that joke. Hamburguejas al vapor!
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. So, the new episode is another one of those "Let's add and/or retcon more stuff into Homer and Marge's backstory" episodes. At least it's ambiguously vague on the time period. I can't tell if the flashbacks are in the 90s or 2000s.
It's too pessimistic, however. It seems like Homer resents his kids and that Bart is the worst kid out there.
Although I have been watching the Simpsons for a while, I've grown to love Bart as a character. He's a realistic portrayal of a 10 year old boy and I enjoy his schemes, even tho he does go too far at times.
