- Pop: Rihanna
- R&B: Too many to list, probably Lauryn Hill
- Hip-Hop: Kanye West, Drake
- Rock: Cliched, I know but The Beatles, seeing as they're the only rock band I can really stand.
- Country: Carrie Underwood
Don't really have that many, probably because I don't really split up genres or anything and I don't listen to a bunch of different types of music.

- Metal: Queensryche
- Classic Rock: Led Zeppelin
- Pop: t.A.T.u, Savage Garden
- Goth: Sisters of Mercy
- Industrial: In Extremo
- Country: Jimmy Buffett
Why are so many people so eager to refer to their own musical tastes "generic"? It's like the musical community punishes itself for liking music.
On another note, I added David Bowie, Elvis and switched Mötley Crüe for Skid Row.

The smartest idiot you will ever meet.I edited it some.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well. Then just edit the first post.
The smartest idiot you will ever meet.NO.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.I've never even heard of half the genre's you mentioned on your list.
The smartest idiot you will ever meet.Use the Google.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.I mean, they all have Wikipedia pages, they aren't hard to find.
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.Opius? And you seriously are implying that I haven't already listened to almost everything produced by The Dust Brothers?
The 5 geek social fallacies. Know them well.
This is basically an off-shoot/snowclone of this other thread here. Who would you list as your single favorite representation from as many scenes/movements as you can think of? You don't have to go deep into any sub-sub-sub-genres either: your favorite can represent an entire blanket of diverse music.
P.S: If one of your favorite bands couldn't be included because their sound combines too many other sounds at once or shifts to a different sound constantly, that's fine. This kept me from including Queen (and it was a massive issue for FNM and Bowie).
