And somehow a Cherry Blossom Tree wins because everyone else is dead
Uni catBotany Battle Royale. Plant users and living trees face off.
Poison Ivy, Yoko Kurama, Swamp Thing, Groot, The Giving Tree, Furion.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Throw in Exdeath and I'm all for it.
And whoever wins becomes the new avatar of the Green.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Shoot, who actually wins that?
Groot and Swamp Thing are comic book characters so they're high up. Exdeath is part tree part warrior knight time loop god.
Giving Tree can pull out anything the boy needs.
I might have to give it to the Giving Tree.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Is the boy present and does the boy need the Giving Tree to win?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMy knowledge on Swamp Thing is limited, but he has total control over all forms of plantlife, even sentient ones. He's basically a living avatar for the Green, which is DC's elemental force that bonds all plant-life together. He can travel to any point on the planet in an instant so long as there's plant-life present, and use the smallest amount of plant material to regrow a new body.
I don't think its limited to Plant life on Earth, either, though I may be misremembering.
Watch SymphogearDepends if the Parliament of Trees includes other worlds as well.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Excuse me, what?
The Parliament of Trees is basically a ruling body of transdimensional forest guardians who rule over "The Green", and Swamp Thing responds to their collective will as the guardian of the green. Man-Thing is shown to be a member in Lawyer-Friendly Cameo style.
I think they're just limited to earth's flora (though earth's flora across multiple dimensions) but don't quote me on that.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."The elemental council that resides and rules within the Green. They are essentially Swamp-Things boss and generally pick out the Avatars of the Green.
There are other similar forces of nature like The Black which is associated with Death and run by the Parliament of Decay and The Red which is connected to all animal life and run by the Parliament of Limbs.
Animal Man and Beast Boy are both connected to the Red with BB at one point for a short time being colored red during the early 2010s.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Swamp Thing vs Man-Thing is in fact another match I'm surprised didn't happen. It's a match-up Man-Thing can't really win but it's right there to be made.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I mean Man Thing is leagues more obscure than Swamp Thing
I'm also not sure there's enough footage of Man-Thing that could be used for the pre- and post-battle segments.
Aside from "just use the comic panels", Man-Thing had a feature-length live-action film and showed up in The Superhero Squad Show, Ultimate Spider-Man, Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and The Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon. That's more than enough.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Got it. Wasn't aware of him being in any of those besides his own made-for-TV movie.

It's fair enough, they were usually one or two episode appearances. They just add up a lot by this point. Enough for a death battle.
Man-Thing vs Solomon Grundy would actually also be a solid one that Man-Thing might actually win.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I'm still annoyed I'm supposed to take Swamp Thing seriously now.
Like, okay, you got your hooks into Batman. He's a rich boy who trained as a ninja and dresses as a bat to go punch clowns in the face. Pop culture has, apparently, decided to take that seriously now. Fine. But Swamp Thing? He was a part of a cheesy 90's cartoon that existed to sell me an action figure with a selling point of "It glows in the dark". He's a giant clump of moss in the form of a man. His name is Swamp Thing. And now I learn he's some deity-level being spoken of in hushed whispers who Alan Moore had weird sexual fantasies about. Gah.
You are aware this was a thing once before right?
Or this.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So I know that no one here really wants Batman back a fifth time, but can we agree that it’d be worth it if they do Adam West Batman VS Japanese Spider-Man as a live action fight?
Yeah.
It was great.
An anime case there is Kenshiro killing some guys for murdering a chicken farmer
Which eventually leads to Rei's profoundly tragic violent death where before his death he battles an implied rapist to save the life of the woman he loves and then dies alone from his injuries against Raoh.
You still take North Star very seriously even with the campy nonsense of the first season.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I don't know what's particularly silly about Swamp Thing. He's a man who turned into a forest deity covered in moss and grime and who now speaks of vanguarding eldritch things. He's not too dissimilar (in both appearance and character) from another nature guardian emblematic to western canon, LOTR's Treebeard. The silliest thing about him is the name Swamp Thing being a bit comically descriptive (yes, indeed, he is a thing from the swamp, well-done), but otherwise I don't see what's so silly about him.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
And you didn’t even bring up Sakura.
Clearly, the track name for such a battle will be Sakura War.
