They should have had George Lucas waking up to see Anakin in the shower.

I certainly wouldn't object to an Anakin shower scene! At the very least he was easy on the eyes.
Emperor Wu liked cake, but not exploding cake!No goddamned comedy droids.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars. We need C-3PO and R2-D2. We didn't need Anakin being Three P Os papa or anything. Or Artoo having rockets.
Did we really need them? They didn't really serve any purpose besides fanservice.
They represent the Fool. Every story in the Hero's Journey had one. And they did do much to help. They just got more focus in the prequels than they needed. Misunderstood the question. Yea, they didn't really need to be in the prequels.

Don't make them at all
By having writers that give a shit about the fans.
Change is comingA couple of thoughts:
-Less CGI, more muppets
-Make Jar Jar less of an Ethnic Scrappy/ Alien Scrappy. Maybe have him be somewhat Obfuscating Stupidity and be more endearing.
-Since he looked pretty old under the mask in the original trilogy, I still think that Anakin should have fallen as an older man- my general thought about plot is have an Anakin in his 30s who has become a respected Jedi, but has always been a bit of a Knight Templar on account of growing up as a slave. Then, have him cross the Moral Event Horizon. Relatedly, since Jedi are thought to be a myth at the time of the original trilogy, they should be dying out by the time of this series.
-As noted before, better dialogue and villains.
HodorI think Lucas did care to some extent, but that he shouldn't have been the writer (maybe not even the director, maybe just the producer).
I dunno, it looks like I might have some kind of issue here.

https://www.facebook.com/emileunmedicatedanduncutYeah, sounds like a personal problem.

I have special therapy sessions over my Prequel Defensiveness Disorder every month or so. Costs an arm and a leg, but it helps, as long as I can refrain from human contact, since the majority of my species holds the films in contempt.
https://www.facebook.com/emileunmedicatedanduncutWhy not talk about them? We're allowed to talk about how bad any other films are or are not regardless of their age. They're still of a reasonable age to be talked about and even if they weren't, if people want to talk about them, they will and you can either join in or ignore. If you think they're good, explain, just having a bitch fit isn't adding anything.
No one is saying They were shit and leaving it at that, people have come up with reasonable and even constructive criticisms of the films and ways they could have been improved, so it wouldn't hurt for you to come up with reasonable counter-points.
So come on, join the conversation.

MORE JAR JAR!!!!!!!
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoI'd actually agree with that a little. He could have been the comedy relief version of Chewbacca or something.

Wut
He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoI try not to have a "This is what it SHOULD have been" reaction, as being fans everyone has their own idea of what the prequels should have been like. Lucas said that people were constantly complaining to him about why he opened with Anakin as a child, since everyone just wanted him to be Darth Vader killing people from the start. Lucas said he had his own story to tell and he was going to tell that story come hell or high-water. The story is about the fall of Anakin, jumping into Vader killing people or the minute details of the Clone Wars isn't the point of the story.
I'm all about proper criticism but I'm more about refining what was actually there (seeing what could have been done differently to better illustrate the story or better utilize a character) as opposed to saying "Rewrite the whole thing."
I don't think Anakin would have needed any better motivation for turning to the dark side other than lust for power, possibly fueled by formerly being a slave or living in poverty.
I agree with e X that The Phantom Menace should be cut, or at least merged into Attack of the Clones, so we get one movie in the middle just for the actual Clone Wars. Furthermore, drop the Messianic Archetype, Celibate Hero, Love Makes You Evil, and Self-Fulfilling Prophecy junk. Have the series start with Anakin nearing adulthood, with him less angsty and more aggressive (Lelouch & Reinhard would make good templates for his character). Have him show more Force powers and military genius so we KNOW he's powerful and skilled. Have his downfall be caused by ambition rather than "forbidden love" and show it as more gradual rather than a sudden OOC switch by having him spend more screen time as both a Jedi and Sith. Don't reveal Anakin as Darth Vader, or the name of the female twin. And make the Jedi Counsel less hypocritical.

Put it better than I could.
I stand by my more muppets argument though.
HodorWell, he did spend 16(or something) years stuck inside that suit. No one's gonna look young and fresh after that long.
@Shiro: I agree, but... "Don't reveal that Anakin is Darth Vader"? It's a Foregone Conclusion. If we know his name is Anakin, then he's Vader.
Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.I mean don't reveal it in the prequels, so that The Reveal in The Empire Strikes Back chronologically remains.

Well, it totally missed, but that interpretation makes a lot of sense.
Except for 4/1/2011. That day lingers in my memory like...metaphor here...I should go.
