  • Character Rerailment: Episode 3 received overwhelmingly positive reception for dialing Knuckles' characterization back to his more stoic Adventure-era self rather than continuing on with the hot-headed person he was flanderized into afterwards, being serious and straightforward yet still able to make informed decisions or take a joke every once in a while. Vocal Evolution also resulted in many fans becoming more accepting of Dave B. Mitchell's performance, even over Knuckles' previous VAs, due to coming off as more natural as opposed to the impression of Willingham's performance from Team Sonic Racing and ending up sounding similar to Ryan Drummond and Scott Dreier's takes on the character from the Adventure era: stern, yet somewhat laid-back.
  • Epileptic Trees:
    • During the first episode, there was a mysterious purple haired lady who appeared right alongside the other humans that has not appeared prior. Many fans have speculated that the woman is a character that will appear in Sonic Frontiers. The fact that the game's English scriptwriter, Ian Flynn, replied to these theories with #Knowingsmile (which he typically uses as a way to tease things that he can't reveal yet) has only added fuel to the speculations. The Frontiers theories were ultimately Jossed by the game's release, as she makes no appearance in the game, leaving many to speculate who she is and what her deal is.
    • There was brief speculation of a Sonic Generations remaster thanks to an edited screenshot of the game's opening appearing in the first episode (this did eventually happen, though whether the screenshots in question were intentional hints or not remains up for debate).
    • The fifth Episode has Sonic noting to the gang that it is coming up on the "anniversary" of their adventure on Northstar Island. Alongside the rather obvious nod to the upcoming game, Amy also mentions that she wonders if she can invite someone, with her last words fading out before the episode's end. This has gotten fans speculating about which characters would appear next on TailsTube, from characters like Cream the Rabbit or Tangle the Lemur, to even Trip the Sungazer since Sonic mentioned the setting of Superstars, and given her Heel–Face Turn, it's looking most likely to be the latter. Mostly jossed when the following sixth Episode had Team Dark as guests (Shadow, Rouge, and Omega), though the door is still possibly open to allow the aforementioned characters as guests in future episodes.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • In the third episode, while Knuckles is a little uncertain about how to use the new communication technology that Tails gave him, and does end up breaking it by the end, he's willing to use it and even asks in concern if Tails was in any kind of trouble when he does contact the echidna. Goes to show that, while their interactions are somewhat limited, the two are indeed as close as Tails can be with Sonic.
    • In episode 6, after Eggman crashes Tails' little Christmas party, Tails gives the scientist a gift, a book called "102 Things to Build on a Rainy Day". Eggman is ecstatic as Sage wanted to do more family bonding things.
    • At the start of Episode 6, Shadow came when he heard there was a crisis, only to find out it was a gift exchange and Chaos Control himself out of Tails' place. Shadow then comes back to Tails' house after hearing the commotion that came from Eggman's prior crash. When he sees that Tails actually left him a gift, he is curious enough to open it. When he sees the card says "have an Ultimate Holiday," he brushes off as "ridiculous," before conceding it is a little chilly outside and puts the scarf he got from Tails around his neck. Not only does Shadow soften up for the Holidays, he looks adorable wearing the scarf.
  • Salvaged Story: The series itself is aiming make the canon of the franchise a bit more cohesive to newcomers and longtime fans, which has resulted in some changes that were appreciated.
    • The implication of there being two worlds (one inhabited by Sonic's kind and the other inhabited by humans) was heavily disliked by fans (and even those who are directly involved with the franchise, like Sonic comic writer Ian Flynn) due to how confusing and convoluted it is, on top of the games never hinting at there being two worlds, and was often seen as a flimsy excuse to keep non-Eggman humans out of the franchise after the infamous Sonic 06 and the polarizing Sonic Unleashed. It even went with the name "Two Worlds Theory" despite being stated by an official source. The first episode of TailsTube would go on to retcon this in favor of having one world, explaining that anthropomorphic animals live on smaller islands, while humans live on bigger countries. This has been met with widespread praise by fans.
    • The Sonic Forces retcon suggesting that Classic Sonic was from another dimension was similarly disliked by fans, being seen as suddenly making the timeline a lot more confusing and coming off as an excuse to bring Classic Sonic back whenever SEGA feels like it note . Fortunately, Episode 4 re-retconned things back to Sonic Generations' explanation as Modern being present Sonic and Classic being past Sonic. While what, if any, ramifications this presents to the franchise long term are yet to be seen, fans are at least happy to have a more coherent timeline again.
    • Episode 5 has Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy reminisce about Mighty, Ray, and Fang, along with offhandedly mentioning Bean and Bark as members of Fang's gang, which seems to suggest SEGA is starting to loosen up on their embargo on letting the three show up outside of the Classic games.
  • Unexpected Character: Fans were taken by surprise when episode 4 featured a brief cameo of Max the Monkey and Mach the Rabbit, two characters who were conceived for, but ultimately scrapped from Sonic 1.
