  • Accidental Innuendo:
    • One in the fifth episode: "Ha-ha-ha, what a great sword you have!".
    • When Aka tells Kuro in the seventh episode that she needs to "work to get money," because of her sly smile, everything looks as if she offers her prostitution.
    • When in season 2 the leader of a lamia tribe proposed to a pretty boy about staying with them and training him to be manly, most of the viewers familiar with anime lamia thought of a... different type of manliness training. That the light novel eventually has him have several children with Lucia's granddaughters pretty much validates that interpretation.
  • Adaptation Displacement: The anime adaptation is much more known in the anime community outside of Japan than the original novel, which received much higher positive ratings in Japan itself.
  • Awesome Art: The quality of the animation and the image in the adaptation is absolutely amazing and surprising, especially considering that this anime is not an A-class project and is not designed for particularly great success. The style of art in the manga version is also good because it makes the characters more cute thanks to the addition of Moe.
  • Awesome Music:
    • The opening song of season one, "One in a Billion" by Wake Up, May'n!, seems rather out-of-place for a sweet show about food bringing people together, as the guitar and drumwork are badass and the Ear Worm tune (especially the chorus) is so punchy, exciting, and heartfelt—it really hits hard. But the translation of the lyrics really does fit the show, especially if interpreted from Aletta's POV:
      In every single timeline,
Letting moments pass one by as they pile up
      Means never experiencing them again
'Til yesterday, you were a stranger
But now that I happened to meet you
The door to a new world will open
      A resounding fanfare
      Is sure to begin
      So let's seize hold of
Our delicious lives: one in a billion
    • The ending song of season two, "Samenai Mahou" (Magic That Never Gets Cold)" by Nao Toyama, is by contrast a cute, bouncy, yet slightly wistful tune of pure heartwarming that can't help but bring a smile to your face.
  • Cliché Storm: Invoked, that the author intentionally collected all the fantasy clichés together to show the reaction of completely different characters to the food from our world.
  • Epileptic Trees: Characters are arguing so aggressively about food that gradually more and more there is a feeling that the cafe is gradually bringing strife into the fantasy world. In episode 10, it is even mentioned that fairies can raise an uprising while they discuss wafers among themselves.
  • Growing the Beard: Despite the overall sweet tone of the series, the fifth and especially the seventh episode add scenes of gladiatorial fights, several scenes of murder and battle with a terrible cosmic monster, making the show more serious.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • Les Yay: The conversation scene between Adelheid and Victoria in the sixth episode looks oddly ambiguous after they exchange views and very quickly find a common language, ignoring other cafe visitors.
  • Moe: The immediate attention goes to Aletta and Kuro due to their waitress outfits and continued presence in the show after being hired. Several other customers can also qualify.
  • Narm:
    • You can find the entrance to this cafe, even on the moon. They have a very wide business, don't they?
    • When Figel gets an "orgasm" from the chicken curry, at some point in the background appear crowing roosters.
    • The sudden screams of Lionel after he tried katsudon are also incredibly amusing.
  • Narm Charm: The Orgasmically Delicious reactions of characters are always very funny, especially when the character begins to inexplicably compile all the nuances of cooking foods, which they had eaten for the first time.
  • Nightmare Fuel: In such a formulaic and low key Sweet Dreams Fuel series like this, the inclusion of the eldritch creature that Kuro and her fellow dragons fought against (and defeated) in her backstory is an unexpectedly creepy addition, being an Eldritch Abomination with far too many mouths.
  • So Okay, It's Average: Although many people praised the adaptation for the quality of performance and the pleasant atmosphere, it received a rather average or even slightly below average score as each episode has been Strictly Formula without much intrigue or drama.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: The very idea of the title is that a variety of cool fantasy characters communicate with each other and enjoy delicious food.
  • The Woobie: Kuro, the Black Dragon. Her and the other 5 Ancient Dragons basically created the world. But being the Dragon of Death, she couldn't stay and watch the world grow around her, as her very aura killed everything it touched. Forcing her to live alone on the moon.
