- Alternate Character Interpretation: Redman may be officially described as a superhero by the show, but the fact that many of his fights with the monsters were unprovoked (some monsters even attempt to flee him!) and he tended to kill his foes brutally has led most to reimagine him as an Ax-Crazy serial killer of kaiju. This interpretation of Redman has become more prevalent in later years, as more 'good' kaiju made appearances in pop culture.
- Ascended Meme: The Redman comics are proof enough that Tsuburaya Productions has embraced Redman's Alternate Character Interpretation.
- Awesome Music: Say what you will about the series, but the main theme song is something else
- Designated Hero: Again, Redman. A lot of the monsters he fights weren't doing anything wrong when he attacks them and try to flee him, making his merciless fighting style even more brutal than it already is.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: The title character for the Ultra Series, due to the aforementioned Alternate Character Interpretation.
- Fan Nickname: "Red Phantom Killer" for Redman due to his Alternate Character Interpretation.
- Memetic Mutation: The whole series! From the So Bad, It's Good No Budget production values to the excessively violent nature of the title "hero".
- Memetic Psychopath: Redman himself. He's a Psycho Knife Nut who wanders about some isolated wasteland encountering random monsters that he kills often with no good reason.
- Nightmare Fuel: The entire series has this unnerving dreamlike quality to it. That's not even getting into how Redman violently dispatches his foes.
- The footage looks like it was pulled out of Blair Witch
- During most fight scenes, the music starts out heroic during the opening blows, but when the battle really starts, the background music shifts to a pattern of Scare Chord alongside a strange rumbling sound.
- So Bad, It's Good: If the Alternate Character Interpretation doesn't make the show entertaining, then the low production values certainly will.
- Special Effect Failure: Everything about the show is cheap.
- The suits are reused from other Tsuburaya Productions shows with the suits in various states of decay.
- Many cases it's obvious that Redman is just stabbing to the side of the monster instead of actually hitting them with the Red Arrow. Occasionally, the top of the Red Arrow prop also noticeably gets bent after Redman throws it.
