- Jerkass Woobie: Angela. She may be a Clingy Jealous Girl, but considering the sheer amount of crap she takes from everyone who isn't named Stone or Hanson, it's sort of understandable why she acts the way the does. And she most certainly did not deserve what happened to her at the hands of Tinker.
- Retroactive Recognition: Tinker Mason is played by Kenneth Cope, who would later be best known for playing Marty Hopkirk in Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased).
- Special Effects Failure: Inevitable given the film's budget. The alien invaders are clearly just melted plastic lamps, making it difficult for some viewers to take them as a serious threat.
- Spiritual Successor: To Island of Terror, which was made the previous year by some of the same creators. The films share a studio (Planet Films), the Sci-Fi Horror genre, a director, one of the stars (Cushing), and even a similar setting (a remote Island of Mystery).
- Values Dissonance: The treatment given to Angela by the others because of her independence and sexual assertiveness, combined with the fact that Frankie sides with her philandering husband rather than the other woman, can seem quite harsh to modern viewers.
