- Bile Fascination: Its 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and universal thrashing from critics may attract this type of audience.
- Critic-Proof: Despite being lambasted by critics and audiences alike and considered one of the worst movies of 2013, if not of all time, it still managed to make $32.4 million on a $6 million budget. This didn't stop it from being Rogue Pictures' last release for a few years, however.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Chloë Moretz playing a character who freaks out about her first menstrual period... Yeahhh... Extra points for the fact that here she ultimately freaks out a lot less than either of her male friends or their respective fathers.
- Nausea Fuel: Much of the humor relies on this trope. Some highlights include:
- Hugh Jackman with a nutsack on his neck.
- Anna Faris asking her fiancé Chris Pratt to indulge in certain kink involving fecal matter.
- The iBabe’s fan shredding dicks off of people who try to have sex with it.
- A cut skit involves Anton Yelchin reviving a dead body in a morgue by having sex with it.
- Retroactive Recognition: While James Gunn was a cult director at this time (having done Slither and Super) by the time the film was completed; he wouldn't become a big Hollywood director until the following year after this film was released with Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
