- Accidental Innuendo: Try to read through "Iggy Goes HOT" without smirking. It doesn’t help that the author’s name is Huge Iggy Fan.
- Alternative Character Interpretation: Being a fansite primarily about the Koopalings, it's not uncommon to see the hero characters in a negative light.
- Base-Breaking Character: Karma Koopa was one of the site's most popular fan characters when the site was still active, but she has since gained detractors who think she only exists to be a love interest for Ludwig.
- Discredited Meme: Most, if not all, of the Running Gags became this by the time the site stopped its updates. Even before that, veterans have expressed displeasure in the gags because they had become stale, overused and unfunny.
- Elimination Houdini: Team What in "Lemmy's Awesome Race" consists of Princess Daisy, already a Scrappy in the fandom, and the King who Took a Level in Dumbass. After the one leg written by Lemmy, each leg written by another user who completed the submission has them finishing in next-to-last place. They avoid elimination by the skin of their teeth due to instances such as Toad on Team Cream throwing the race and being blasted by Bowser Jr.'s bullet bill blaster just ahead of the eliminated Team Cute. They eventually win it all.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: The Koopalings are this for Super Mario Bros., hence the site itself.
- Fan Wank: Since Bowser Jr. replaced the Koopalings in Super Mario Sunshine, the webmaster made it fanon that Bowser Jr. was just a graphically ambiguous version of Ludwig. Over time, and with the help of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, even the webmaster abandoned the idea.
- Harsher in Hindsight: In 2006, Lemmy commented that the site won't be shutting down after a battle with wrist pain. A bit harder to stomach after he abandoned the site six years later.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Karma Koopa is a fan character Koopa/Yoshi hybrid who likes Ludwig. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Ludwig can flutter jump like a Yoshi.
- In a round 2 match in season 6 of Roy's Sports Hall, King Boo opens a portal to the ghost world that sucks in the entire Sports Hall. Which isn't that far off from what he tried to do at the end of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
- Among the many fan fictions found on Lemmy's Land, one involved Mario and Co. facing off against an army of Raving Rabbids. Interestingly enough, this crossover would become a reality years later with the release of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle.
- Replacement Scrappy: Bowser Jr. gets a lot of hate and Fanon Discontinuity.
- Strangled by the Red String: The Metbond, introduced in the same story as Karma Koopa. Its origins apparently lie in making sure the Koopa species didn't die out during times of war.
