- Awesome Music:
- This is a movie which is best-known for various artists doing covers of Elvis Presley songs:
- "All Shook Up" by Billy Joel
- "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" by Ricky Van Shelton
- "Burning Love" by Travis Tritt
- "Devil in Disguise by Trisha Yearwood
- The Broadway musical adaptation also has a couple catchy songs that tend to play on show tunes channels a fair amount.
- Never Get Married, where Jack's mom tries to goad and emotionally blackmail him out of getting married in a Large Ham style.
- Come to an Agreement where Tommy makes Jack An Offer You Can't Refuse about spending the weekend with Betsy in exchange for the forgiveness of his colossal debt.
- This is a movie which is best-known for various artists doing covers of Elvis Presley songs:
- Harsher in Hindsight: A couple parts of the movie has Jack dealing with a neurotic client who fears his wife is having an affair with Mike Tyson. When the movie was in production, Tyson had been arrested for the rape of 18-year old Desiree Washington, Miss Black Rhode Island and by the time the movie came to theaters, he would be convicted and serving in prison.
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- Chief Orman rambling about his love of musicals to a frustrated Jack got even funnier after Honeymoon in Vegas itself was adapted into a Broadway musical.
- This wouldn't be the last time James Caan plays a powerful figure in Las Vegas.
- Moral Event Horizon: It's difficult if not impossible to feel sympathy for Tommy after his Manipulative Bastard tendencies go into full swing, and he tells Betsy that Jack knowingly named her as stakes in the poker game, and only did so for a $3,000 bet.
- Older Than They Think: Indecent Proposal was one of the most unique movies of 1993, with the plotline of a rich man buying the chance to have a night with another man's wife. But this movie not only has a similar plotline (just more comedic) but also was released in theaters about a year before Indecent Proposal.
- Retroactive Recognition: The kid Elvis impersonator is actually a six-year old Bruno Mars.
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Jack Singer can fall into this. The beginning showcases him working as a private eye investigating people committing adultery and him doing a decent enough job at it. But once the film's plot kicks off with Tommy taking Betsy to Hawaii, we never see him use any of his detective skills to find Tommy or Betsy and that aspect of his character is just pretty much an afterthought.
