Go To

Bendy and Boris: The Quest For The Ink Machine is a fan comic series by The Great Rouge. It's a crossover between Bendy and the Ink Machine, Cuphead, and many classic cartoons such as Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Bendy is sick with the ink illness so he and his brother Boris must find the parts for the Ink Machine to cure him.

Bendy and Boris: Quest For The Ink Machine provides examples of:

  • Adapted Out: Elder Kettle is nowhere to be seen in this comic, his role of Cuphead and Mugman's father figure being handed to Black Hat from Villainous.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Bendy is moody and sarcastic but not malicious or vengeful like in the games. He is also very protective of his younger brother Boris.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Cuphead is misguided yet heroic in his original game, but in this comic series he's rude and brash.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Cuphead and Mugman are sent to kill Bendy and Boris by the Devil, but are less reluctant to destroy their enemies than in the games.
  • Age Lift: Boris is aged down to twelve years old whilst Cuphead and Mugman's ages are much less vague in this comic, both clearly being adults.
  • All Women Are Lustful: At the beginning of the comic Dot has a huge crush on Bendy and constantly flirts with him and gets jealous of other girls.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Bendy is very protective of Boris and even tries to fake that his illness is getting better just so Boris won't worry about him. Meanwhile Cuphead is mean towards his brother Mugman but loves him deep down, breaking down when he accidentally shoots him.
  • Big Little Brother: Boris is six years younger than Bendy but is much taller than him. Boris can even pick up Bendy easily.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Dot appeared at the beginning of the comic, but disappears for the rest of it when the plot actually begins.
  • Death by Adaptation: Ortensia is dead at the start of the introduction of her husband Oswald, as she was killed by the ink illness.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: Boris with both Mickey Mouse and Mugman, both being adults while Boris is a child.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Oswald is complete mute due to not wanting to talk after losing his wife. However, he ended up speaking to Mickey when he was feeling down about being unable to help everyone.
  • Manchild: Mugman acts like a Cheerful Child even though he's not much younger than Cuphead.
