for Twitch Plays Pokémon Ultra SunTwitch Plays Pokémon (TPP) is a series of social experiments in which commands representing buttons on an original Nintendo 3DS (up, down, left, right, A, B, X, Y, L, R, start, and select) and touchscreen coordinates are entered into a chat on Twitch, and then translated into a game of Pokémon via an IRC bot. In short, hundreds of people are fighting over a controller. Throughout its life, Twitch Plays Pokémon has spawned hilarious characters, memorable moments, and even a few religions.
Twitch Plays Pokémon Ultra Sun is the sixth and final run of Season 4; it began on November 25th, 2017, a week after the release of Pokémon Ultra Sun, and ended on December 9th, 2017. Several new features were introduced to the input system, including cardinal aliases ("n", "e", "w" and "s" respectively serve as equivalents to "up" "right", "left" and "down"), held inputs ("input-" keeps the input held down for longer), and dragged coordinates ("0,0>255,255", for instance, drags the stylus from the upper left to the lower right of the touchscreen).
Despite once more failing to pick a female Host to dress up, the Voices had a field day picking the clothes of Rrwq: ("Rick"/"Rorick"/"Roark"), who wound up with an outfit so yellow one could confuse him for a Pikachu; in fact, he eventually ended up wearing Pikachu ears, which he won (with great struggle) from the Pikachu Quiz. Thus, our appropriately brightly-dressed hero went on to defeat the light-consuming Necrozma, and became the third first Champion of Alola in TPP history.

Twitch Plays Pokémon Ultra Sun contains examples of:
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Using the QR Scanner made the basement of the stream operator show up on the screen, with various plushes and figures representing Pokémon caught by Rrwq: set up in front of the camera, and PBR matches running in the background. While they initially just stoically faced the camera, they were eventually put into various situations, including playing Nintendo consoles, waiting inside a PC screen and later attempting to escape it, or even watching the stream itself. At times, it even showed a basket of Pikachu merchandise, or a Mimikyu in the dark with static on a screen next to it. An incomplete list of these can be found here.
- Call-Back: The QR Scanner at one point showed the Pokémon plushes watching TV◊, with a Pikachu sitting close to the screen referencing the Twitch Plays Pokémon Channel itermission from Season 2.
- Color Motif: If someone only knows one thing about the Ultra Sun run, it'll be that Rrwq:'s signature color is yellow. His final outfit was comprised of a Pikachu Shirt, a Pikachu Cap, Yellow Capris, Yellow Sporty Sneakers, a Yellow Sporty Backpack, Yellow Mirrored Sunglasses, yellow contact lenses, and platinum blonde hair.
- The Faceless: While M4_Used_Rollout, the stream operator, was spotted on the QR Scanner camera on a few occasions, all that was ever seen of him is a pair of white gloves; his face proper was never actually shown.
- History Repeats: For the fourth time in a row, the Voices picked a white male protagonist as a Host in a game featuring character customization, much to their dismay.
- Number of the Beast: Rrwq:'s Vikavolt is named "6667R RB ", which earned it the nickname of "Beelzebug" among the Voices.
- Television Portal: At one point, the QR Scanner showed a bunch of Pokémon waiting inside the PC◊. When checking it again about three hours later, said Pokémon were now in the process of escaping◊.
- Recursive Reality: The QR Scanner allows Rrwq: to see the room inside which is the 3DS in which is played the game he is the protagonist of. To add another layer of recursion, a bunch of Pokémon games are also visible, including a physical copy of Red Anniversary and some Battle Revolution matches running on a Wii U Gamepad. And for yet another level of recursion, Rotom was at one point seen using the camera◊ through the camera. It all culminated when the plushes were seen watching the stream on which the plushes were watching the stream on which the plushes were watching the stream on which◊...
