The "Meets Sonic? Saga" is a Sonic.exe webseries made by MrDragonboy96 with Super Mario Bros. X.

After the events of the original Sonic.exe creepypasta, the titular villain has decided to go to the Mushroom Kingdom to extend his domain and increase his powers in his search for the "Devil's Coins" with the help of his second-in-command Pinkamena Diane Pie. The series shows Sonic.exe killing off SMBX's playable characters, along with a couple characters that weren't playable in the original game (such as Kirby), while also trying to fight against a mysterious green-coloured hero that seems to be the only one capable of beating him.

The series also received a sequel called the "Meets Tails Doll Saga", depicting Tails Doll trying to avenge Sonic.exe and searching for the "Devil's Coins".

The series can be found here and here.

Tropes that apply to the 2 seasons

  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Although it was quite clear from the beginning of the series that its depictions of Sonic.exe and Tails Doll were much different from their canon depictions, in Toad Meets Tails Doll, Toad finds a destroyed lab where he reads an Apocalyptic Log that reveals that Sonic.exe and Tails Doll are actually experiments that were made to test the Terminus Coins' power, after hearing from the coins' power, they escaped containment and murdered every scientist in the lab (excepting Dragonboy) before going on a murderous rampage on their search for the coins
  • Black Eyes of Crazy: Sonic.exe, all the zombified characters and Pinkamena Doll have this.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: Here, whenever people get killed by Sonic.exe and Tails Doll, they get revived as undead ".exes", gaining Black Eyes of Crazy, supernatural powers (such as Kirby, who gained the ability to shoot energy rings out of his mouth) and a wacky color scheme.
  • Super-Empowering: That is the power that the Devil Coins have, transforming their users into extremely powerful creatures with outright Reality Warping powers, such as Sonic.exe and Tails Doll.

Tropes in the Meets Sonic? Saga

  • Adaptational Context Change: While in the original creepypasta, the murders depicted inside the game were Sonic.exe torturing the souls of his previous victims after shoving them in Sonic character-looking vessels, here, they're the real Sonic characters.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Subverted. While here, Pinkie Pie had seemingly murdered multiple people and even aided Sonic.exe in his domination of the Mushroom Kingdom, the final episodes show that he seemingly brainwashed her into doing this, with Pinkie having a Heel Realization after getting defeated by Mysterious Guy/ Dragonboy and getting fully corrupted as a result.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Sonic.exe seems to give off this impression, murdering people brutally through deadly "games" with childlike glee at how his victims die at his hands, and having what's basically a temper tantrum during the Villainous Breakdown he has at his final moments. This is a Subverted Trope however, as Tails Doll revealed that the two of them are 10 years old, as he claims that that was the time when they experimented with the Terminus Coins, and was thus, the day they were created.
  • Token Good Teammate: Tails seems to be this to Sonic.exe's army, where as while the other .exes directly aid Sonic.exe in trying to kill the episode's Victim of the Week, Tails is completely pacific, constantly warns would-be victims about how dangerous Sonic.exe is, and is pretty sad for not being capable of directly helping people escape from his grasp. Why has he not been brainwashed into liking Sonic.exe like the other slaves is unknown however.

Tropes in the Meets Tails Doll Saga

  • Creepy Doll: Why, Tails Doll of course! Although, Pinkamena Doll also counts too.
  • Driven to Suicide: Subverted. After Pinkie Pie's death, Dragonboy starts to slowly walk towards the edge of Pinkamena's Tower, before decideing to run towards Commander Guymo, likely in regret at what he considered doing.
  • Face Death with Dignity: After Wario realizes that he has no way of escaping the collapsing Terminus factory where he fought against Kamek, he accepts death, and decides to lay down on the floor calmly, awaiting his doom.
  • Fatal Flaw: Wario's was Greed, his greed was the reason why he got killed by the destruction of Tails Doll's Terminus base, as he wanted to explore the last room of the factory to see if there was any treasure for him to steal, unfortunately there wasn't any treasure, and as a result, he ended up trapped inside the room while the factory fell apart.
  • Hypocrite: When describing how Sonic.exe was a bad villain, Tails Doll proceeds to say that he "didn't talk like a normal person nor a normal creepypasta" (likely referring to his hammy way of speaking), even though Tails Doll himself is also a Large Ham, just in a different kind of way
  • Informed Wrongness: In Dedede Meets Tails Doll, when Dedede is talking to Peach about how he came to the Mushroom Kingdom to aid them in their war against Tails Doll, Peach claims that it's pretty selfish from Dedede to help the Mushroom Kingdom because of the fear of that happening to his own kingdom.
  • Macross Missile Massacre:
    • In Pinkamena's second boss fight, she atempts to pull off one of this on Dragonboy with a dozen Bullet Bills, unfortunately, this fails to work after he jumps over the bullets.
    • A more succesful example of this happens in Kamek Meets Tails Doll, where after Tails Doll discovers Kamek's betrayal, he attacks him with an unavoidable wall of Bullet Bills.
  • Named in the Sequel:
    • In Toad Meets Tails Doll, the Apocalyptic Log about Sonic.exe, Tails Doll and the Devil Coins' origins, it is revealed that Sonic.exe and Tails Doll used to be called SON-EX and TAL-DOL by the scientists that experimented on them, however, the 3rd Boss Fight episode reveals that those weren't codenames given by the scientists to refer to them or anything, they were their actual names, even Tails Doll lampshades how stupid his previous name was.
    • Also, the Devil Coins were also revealed to actually be called the Terminus Coins, having been named after the Terminus energy that they possessed.
  • Ruder and Cruder: Downplayed. While in the first season, there were no swear words whatsoever, in this season, Tails Doll says bitch and fuck in one episode, but then never swears again.
  • Sequel Escalation: Although the stakes are technically the same (both Tails Doll and Sonic.exe wanted universal domination), Tails Doll's invasion is much more dangerous than Sonic.exe's, having managed to take over most of the kingdom with his undead army, while also managing to take over other kingdoms and even an entire planet in another solar system.
  • Shout-Out: There are multiple references to Undertale, from Tails Doll saying "it's kill or be killed" and telling a Bumbty that he will "have a bad time", to him outright using Flowey's laugh in multiple occasions.
  • The Lost Lenore: When Commander Guymo is consoling Waluigi for Wario's death, he tells him that he understands his pain, as he felt the same when his wife died during the war.
