Maeka Enderfox is a french YouTube channel primarily centered on the setting of the Splatoon franchise. While originally a series of random videos with little to no connection between them, the creator eventually started introducing a more stable continuity. This culminated in the 4-part 2 octolings arc, which heavily influenced the direction of the channel by introducing a few new characters.
The main protagonist of the series is the titular Author Avatar Maeka, an 18-year old inkling girl who just so happens to have a demon named Arima living inside her ever since childhood. Said demon possesses her whenever she's in significant distress, giving her the power to fight her physical enemies while simultaneously serving as her worst mental enemy.
Maeka Enderfox contains examples of:
- Abusive Parents: Tori has these. Hisoka and Yuma are the leaders of a clan of octolings dedicated to murdering inklings, who're implied to have beaten Tori whenever she tried to escape before they were both seemingly Killed Off for Real in the Strange Mother video.
- All There in the Manual: Maeka's Deviant Art page tends to reveal a lot of information before it becomes apparent on the youtube channel.
- An Arm and a Leg:a flashback shows a preschool-aged Maeka cutting her teacher's hand off
- Battle in the Center of the Mind: Maeka's angel brother Raita battles Arima to stop her from possessing Maeka starting in demon vs cyborg
- Breath Weapon: In strange mother, Arima now breathes fire.
- Back from the Dead: After being killed by Arima, Hisoka is repaired by his wife in Strange Mother
- The Cameo: Meggy Spletzer briefly appears in the opening seconds of 2 octolings part 1.
- Clones Are People, Too: Despite being an artificial being created by Maeka, Mutsuki is treated as no less valuable than anyone else.
- Clothing Damage: Whenever Maeka's inner demons fully take over her body, it turns her whole body black. When she goes back to normal, she's in her undergarments (which aren't very revealing anyway).
- Dark and Troubled Past: Tori was raised by murderous xenophobic psychopaths, and Maeka was constantly tormented as a child for her large ears, not to mention arima.
- Glamor Failure: Cyborg Octolings normally look just like ordinary Octolings until they get damaged or tap into their powers. Tori is less than pleased by this revelation and prefers to stay as a normal Octoling unless she needs to use her powers.
- Robotic Reveal: More like cybernetic reveal, but Tori doesn't take it very well when she discovers that her family, and by extension herself, are a family of cyborgs.
- Wham Episode: A Nightmare Connected reveals that Arima isn't the only demon running around.
