WMG / Mewkledreamy

Go To

Peko and Suu will eventually get their own dream powers.
So far, it's not known wether Peko and Suu can or cannot use powers similar to Mew. They may not at first (or simply may but not know about it). However, they can be able to learn them later on (most likely halfway through), and when they do, Maira and Kotoko can also help Yume with getting their dreamy stones and, maybe, make their wishes come true as well.
  • As of episode 5, it is revealed that humans who's dreamy mate isn't Mew aren't allowed to enter dreams, but that doesn't completely kill the chance of Peko and Suu gaining their own Dream Synchros later on.
  • Jossed. For season 1, at least...

Yuni got abandoned by his dream partner or didn't get noticed by them.
Judging by the power he has and how he looks similar to Mew, it could be easy to guess that Yuni was made for the same purpose as her. However, something might have had happened and he either never got noticed by his dream partner or got abandoned by them, therefore trying to make people's dreams a nightmare, because he never got to make his partner's dream true. This is further supported by the fact that Yuni made tsugi and hagi and that he treasures them (according this post, taken from what it looks like a magazine). Even if they're created to be minions, he does care about them to the point where he'd never leave them behind like his dream partner did.
  • One thing that could joss this theory, however, is the Dreamy Stones. Currently it isn't revealed where they come from or if Yuni had anything to do with them other than turning them into Black Abysses. If he does, then that may joss the theory, but it could lead to another, which is...
  • Confirmed. Yuni didn't get noticed by anyone after he fell from the sky, and The Nightmare Queen brought him to life so he could serve her, and he made Tsugi and Hagi so he couldn't feel lonely.

Yuni is a "Nightmarey Mate".
Basically the opposite of a Dreamy Mate; Yuni was created by the show's REAL villain to cause nightmares to the world. And who knows? Maybe "Nightmare Partners" can exist too.
  • Considering how in the end of episode 23, The Nightmare Queen said she must give Yuni a partner, i'd say confirmed.

Yuni isn't evil. He's just pretending to be.
Yuni only puts dark abysses on black schemas to help Yume and to prevent the real villain from doing something way worse to the people than making them go crazy. In fact, the queen created him for this exact purpose.
  • Jossed.

Yuni will be purified and will be the Sixth Ranger of the Dreamy Mates.
Pinocchio, the company that made the show's merchandise, plans to release some of Yuni, including some similar items to the ones released at the start of the series, including a talking plush of him and his wand, but it depicts him in his usual form. This is probably a sign that his powers eventually become like Mew-chan's and he becomes nice, a common practice in rival anime Pretty Cure.

All Dreamy Mates will die in the finale.
You know how The Miracle Dreamy Queen said in episode 2 that if the world finds out about Mew, she'll get turned into a normal plush? Yeah, it's not hard to imagine a final arc where The Nightmare Queen decides to complete her plan by attacking not just dreams, but the real world as well, leading to the mates to have no choice but having to be on public to win against her. Of course, this leads to a tearjerker ending with all the life on the plushies fading away. Buuuuut, if Yume still hasn't made her wish by collecting all dreamy stones yet, this is what she'll use it for: revive the dreamy mates, making it all just a Disney Death, maybe they won't have to hide from other humans anymore, and everyone lives happily ever after.

  • Considering we've now seen that Yume is determined to keep Mew at all costs, and as of the Valentine's day episode it is confirmed that Yuni's nightmares can effect the real world, this theory might get confirmed soon.
  • Jossed.
Asahi and Haruhito will be Dream Partners.
If you look closely, all four dream partners in the show have a little white star on each eye. Asahi and Haruhito have those stars too, meaning they could be possible Dream Partners in the future too. If so, chances are Asahi will get Rei, but Haruhito? Perhaps Yuni if he gets a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Asahi and Rei confirmed!
  • Haruhito and Yuni confirmed and jossed. They do end up together, but they're the Dream Partners' enemy.

Yuri will have plot relevance in the future.
Notice how in the last scene of the opening, all humans in it have star eyes except for Yuri? Heck, she wasn't even removed when Tokiwa was added in! Maybe she's relevant to the show in some way, even if she's not a Dream Partner, but what we can't be sure about is how.

Haruhito can't dream.
The reason why Yume and Mew can't go into Haruhito's dream world after trying twice is simple: it doesn't exist. The Nightmare Queen might have made Haruhito unable to dream as part of her plan to have him in her possession. And considering how the masked person in the second visual of the show is most likely him, chances are she will succeed. While there is so far no explanation why him of all people, it'll probably make sense soon.
  • Possibly jossed. Episode 33's dream featured Haruhito and Yuri as kids in it. Although, we can't tell whether that was either Haruhito's or Yuri's dream yet.
  • Officially jossed, We see Haruhito's nightmare in episode 37.

Haruhito is a Stepford Smiler, and his dream is blocked because of it.
Haruhito's smile is one of many reasons why girls are so into him, but in reality, he's a guy who's soul was broken long ago for some unknown incident(s), and therefore is faking his good behaviors so no one feels bad. He's blocking his true self behind a smiling attractive mask and, alongside it, his dreams, which is why Yume and Mew can't access them. In the future, The Nightmare Queen will realize this and offer him to join her, in which he ends up accepting and becoming the masked cloaked person in her evil squad.
  • Turns out The Nightmare Queen already had her eyes on him until he officially became Yuni's partner, but why his dream can't be accessed is still unknown

The series will land on Netflix or YouTube internationally
  • I heard that Mewkledreamy is up for licensing and it could be possible for it to get an English dub, so here's my guess on what platform would it end up. Because Disney is focusing more on Disney+, Cartoon Network doesn't do animes that much and Nickelodeon just screws with the non-Spongebob and non-Loud House shows, my guess is that they would put Mewkledreamy on Netflix or the Hello Kitty and Friends YouTube channel.

Akumu had a tragic backstory
  • Considering that she got trapped for a long time, she might had abusive parents to the point where she had nightmares about it.
