A simulation/RPG game by Lucidrine, wherein you run a magic school, train students in the art of combat magic, and try not to get fired.

Find the sequel at Valthirian Arc 2.

Valthirian Arc 1 contains examples of:

  • Fantasy Gun Control: Averted, gunslingers are a class
  • Foregone Conclusion: Unless you're playing on sandbox mode, you will eventually fall behind on your fame quotas. What you want to see is how long you can last, and how epic you can get your top-level students to be.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: Although more along the lines of "guys smash and shoot, girls cast"
  • Mars and Venus Gender Contrast: You cannot make female students into warriors, or male students into mages. The game just doesn't allow that.
  • Sandbox Mode: Breeze Arc mode, also called Sandbox Mode and Endless Mode, which removes the inspections, letting you play and build the academy without worrying that you won't meet the fame requirement and the game will end. However, you can't earn the "Perfect Year 1" in-game achievement, get achievements on websites that host the game or submit your score when you're playing it.
  • Reward for Removal: Students require gold to recruit and improve, and graduating them from the academy awards fame. This fame is requires for the periodic quotas.
