Jurassic Park: Survival is an upcoming first person Stealth Based Survival Horror game. Players take control of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist left behind in the evacuation of the island in Jurassic Park (1993). Now stranded in the wild reclaimed island, Maya must use her wits to outsmart and survive the prehistoric predators that have now free run of the island.
Jurassic Park Survival contains the following tropes:
- Action Survivor: According to the official site, Maya is just a scientist and isn't armed with anything to actually fight dinosaurs with, but makes do with misdirection and equipment to evade predators.
- Bad Vibrations: In the reveal trailer, Rexy's appearance is once again heralded by her footsteps ominously thundering closer and reflected in a puddle formed from one of her prior footsteps.
- Continuity Nod: The reveal trailer has an emphasized shot of the freezer door where Lex and Tim trapped a Velociraptor in. At the end of the trailer, the door opens.
- Continuity Porn: The Teaser Trailer shows familiar locales of Isla Nublar. Among them are:
- The abandoned Jeep (left at the Helipad after the survivors evacuated in the penultimate scene).
- The still-intact Land Cruiser at the T. rex Paddock (along with Grant's abandoned hat), and the destroyed Land Cruiser at the bottom of the Paddock.
- The Visitor Center also bears not only the damage from the lobby fight in the climax, but the chaos and wreckage left behind in the kitchen when Tim and Lex evaded the Big One.
- Revisiting the Roots: Twofold.
- As shown in the announcement trailer, the game will be returning to the original park instead of focusing on Jurassic World and its sequels.
- The horror elements from said trailer, meanwhile, are more in line with the original novels than the rest of the franchise.
- Sole Survivor: The reveal trailer confirms that the Velociraptor trapped in the freezer has escaped. Given that the rest of her pack were killed by Rexy, she is the only known raptor to still roaming the island and thus a big danger to Maya.
