All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros. is a Platform Game developed by Nintendo and published by Fuji TV for the Famicom released in 1986. It's a version of Super Mario Bros. with some changes based on Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and other tweaks to make the game fresh.
This game provides examples of:
- Adaptation Deviation: Princess Peach is dressed as a traditional Japanese princess in this game, rather than a fairy-tale one.
- Always Night: Subverted. Despite what the title would suggest, only World 1 and the levels that originally took place at night do so here.
- The Cameo: The Toads who appear at the end of each world are replaced by Japanese celebrities.
- Cool Shades: Goombas and Piranha Plants are replaced with big-headed caricatures of DJ Sunplaza Nakato, but they retain his sunglasses.
- Evolving Title Screen: You get a star on the title screen for beating the game. The maximum is twenty.
- Goomba Springboard: The original game is recreated using the engine of The Lost Levels, and includes the ability to score higher jumps from jumping on enemies.
- License-Added Game: The main difference is the addition of characters from a Japanese radio program published by Fuji Television.
