Trivia / Ys: Memories of Celceta

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Every single playable character shares their English voice actor with at least 1 NPC.
  • Casting Gag: Leeza, the one who summoned Adol to Celceta is voiced by Wendee Lee, who had previously voiced Sarah Tovah (who sent Adol on his first adventure) in the English Dub of the Ys OVA Anime. More ironically in that same OVA series, Wendee Lee also voiced the child version of Adol in flashbacks.
  • Late Export for You: The Windows version. For a long period, Memories of Celceta was a PlayStation Vita-exclusive except in China, where the Windows port was created for the region in 2015 (and not a great one at that). After years, XSEED Games published the Windows port of Memories of Celceta (independent from and better than the Chinese version) on Steam for the summer of 2018. This only leaves Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand as the last numbered Ys installment to not receive a release to the PC platform.
  • The Other Darrin: Starting with this game, Yuki Kaji would become the voice of Adol Christin instead of his previous actors Takeshi Kusao and Yusei Oda.
  • Role Reprise: After first playing the characters almost 19 years prior in Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys, Yuri Shiratori and Tesshō Genda once again voice Leeza and Gadis respectively.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Worldwide voice acting rights for the Japanese voice acting were not secured, thus the international Steam version released in 2018 only contains the English voices and Japanese subtitles if Japanese is selected as the language. This changed in February 2020, where XSEED finally managed to include Japanese voice acting in the Steam version.
  • You Look Familiar: The Drama CD casted Hirohiko Kakegawa as Asad, the father of Karna and Remnos. Kakegawa previously voiced Berhardt in Ys: The Oath in Felghana.
