- No Export for You: The PC Engine version of the game never was released outside of Japan. The only way to play it nowadays and in English is by way of emulation, coupled with a text translation patch and Burnt Lasagna's Fandub.
- Role Reprise: Not so much in the original Japanese version, but in the Fandub, Alan Oppenheimer's voicework from Ys I & II is reused for dialogue as Darm.
- You Sound Familiar: Gadis is voiced by Tesshō Genda, who previously voiced Dogi in the Ys OVA back in 1989.
